    • @yaralaterveer
      @yaralaterveer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah but she never showed it in the handmaid's tale, the fact that she was part of the resistance was revealed in the testaments. Also, this video is about the first season, and the first season is basically an adaptation of the handmaid's tale, not the testaments. I've you've seen the other seasons (there are 5 in total right now), you'll know that Nick becomes a mole for Canada at the end of season 5. I suspect that aunt Lydia being a mole will probably be revealed in season 6 or, if they do a spin-off for the testaments, in said spin-off.

    I don’t want to spoil the book for anyone by telling each and every thing that does not really follow the book. The book is 1000 times better! The best thing about this book “the handmaid‘s tale“ is the epilogue in the back. I think that’s what it’s called. It turns out the book is a students report or some thing about how things were back then. A sociology student or something I can’t fully remember because I read this book years ago. But basically The handmaid in the book the main character actually escapes. I think she ends up at a kind of a whorehouse where many handmaids go when they escape because it’s a black market where they can actually be away from the handmaid‘s life. The person making the report on this particular handmaid loses her trail at some point and points out that shortly there after that government Collapses. Although the handmaids were spread across a huge distance of land the handmaids in America were the last of their kind because the countries surrounding America had long stopped using handmaids. The writer opines that the Handmade in The book may very well have escape to Canada. Just reading that portion at the back of the book really blew my mind because The book itself was a report tracing the life of one of the last known handmaids. Superb writing but a terrifying story. The author surely had an imagination like no other, But it’s extremely close to reality in the misogyny of many cultures and how they treat women like incubators.

If something like this does happen it sure wouldn't end up in a way like this it be more chaos filled. Not this false sense of normality with sexist remarks sprinkled in it would be end of the world scenario and most likely the full break down of society once birth rates dropped to a % people would be defending what they have while others would be fighting for what they have. Do you really think women would be treated with such level of respect as this movie shows ? They would be prisoners for their sex and would be much more dark and awful then what is shown in this movie humans are a monstrous race while few may not be. im a stay-at-home wife with a disabled child i would not mind having my husband to have a better paying job (he dont have a job at all welfare pay more! if we dont work! ) if this do happen, we could get a home and live way better since so many jobs will be available and the salaries will be way better it will pay for a family not one person ! i could have more time for my hobbies a happy wife it a happy husband ! we are not conservative we are centrist, and we are pro-choice we already have bank account join so it is our money. we are in Canada

      You can't move up unless you start at the bottom. Entry level jobs may not pay as much as welfare, but the higher jobs do pay well. You can't get to those higher jobs unless you start an entry level job. Your husband can get a factory job and start a long term employment history, then move from job to job or move up to shift manager etc.... That's how you grow your salary. Having zero work history means you'll always be living off welfare and your life will never get better. It will only get worse. I've never been without a job since I was 14 years old. I can't imaging being out of work that long. My employment history is rock solid, i had no trouble finding work. Interviews were instant. No employer wants to hear the excuse "welfare pays almost as much" because that means if the job is too much work, you'll quit. I can understand 1 parent staying home because it's cheaper than daycare, especially for a special needs child. But, not both parents. 1 parent should be working.

      @@GROGU123 I’m totally with you on that but now I’m also in the other woman’s shoes so I get that too about herself but not the husband bit and child as I’m single lol. Iv always had a job since I was 13 and it was cleaning a hairdresser’s and by 17 I wasn’t on minimum wage like most 17 year olds, I had some background so made the interview easier and since then never had to worry about money. Then I worked my way up and became a manager by 21 and it does sound silly but the pay was 4x iv ever had so couldn’t believe I was picked seeing as others were managers before but because of my background they were impressed and gave me a shot. Then unfortunately for me by 22 I was diagnosed with a bone disease and a brain tumour and then my world tumbled(it’s none cancerous but it’s growing off a nerve in my brain ) so I was constantly poorly for days to weeks apart so eventually had to quit because of having constant migraines. Now iv developed cluster headaches too I have oxygen tanks for clusters headaches and for the chronic migraine’s i have treatment every 3 months which is 52 injections of nerve blocker round my head so 4 months a year I’m migraine free. I’m 25 now living disabled it’s not the worst thing but I don’t feel secure especially the fact as well I was so used to been secure with a Job, money it’s at pretty good on disability and offer you so much support but I also feel a sense of guilt as I feel I don’t deserve it as I was taught to earn what you want.
