    Huge thanks to Dave and the camera lady to give those little animals the love they absolutely deserve.

      @petegriffin8149 ปีที่แล้ว

      they're almost insects, they don't know what love is, stop putting human emotions onto spiders and scorpion's, if they were big enough, they'd attack you and suck the juice out of you and leave a huge bolus with your clothes wrapped up in it...

      @@petegriffin8149 the comment was about Dave & Camera lady’s care they give their spiders etc. showing how much they look after them. Not love as you thought it meant 🤦‍♀️

      @@petegriffin8149 You’re actually right!!! and that’s why we’ve grown to respect them and their lives! These little things are what keep other insect’s populations in check! Don’t forget that buddy. If they were 3 feet bigger, then humans would not have been the dominant species. Remember that we all live on a big rock that happens to have plants and water to supply us food. Never forget where we come from! Have a good one bud!

      @@noahrogers4934 hey you may have misunderstood me, I'm an arachnophobe turned keeper/enthusiast.
      I totally appreciate what these inverts do, they keep us from being completely over run by insects we'd rather not confront... I'm very aware of where we come from buddy, and yes I'm aware of our position on this blue marble we call home, we are here to share, we need to care... my point was only that you can say "I love you kaeng Krakken, just don't expect them to kiss you back in a manner that suggests that they give a damn bout your emotions... that's all.

    Hello Dave and Camera Lady. Very nice relaxing video. It is nice to catch up with some of the projects we have seen in the past. Are y’all currently watching any egg sacs and if so, which spiders have a sac? I really enjoy the baby videos. You know Dave, if someone is here watching you they don’t have any reason to get bad information from a shop. They have all the information they need with you and Camera Lady. Okay then, I’m down for the count. Don’t cook poor Camera Lady. Heat intolerance really sucks. Believe me, I know. Y’all take care and stay safe. Good night.

    I think it's important to say, as you do so often Dave, that spiders don't need our love and affection as so many people I've noticed in comments do seem to believe, they're purely instinctual, they don't care about us, only that they can do what they need to do as nature intended...

    Hi Dave and Camera Lady 💙💕 hope you’re both well and having a wonderful Thursday.
    I’m pleased that you showed us your Balfouri’s, they’ve been super busy with webbing up their enclosure. They have created a silken curtain, with entrance and exit points dotted around the place. I do like the Balfouri’s, their colours are really pretty. Thanks also for the follow up on the Brazilian giant white knee after her last molt, and also the little slings that are in the incubator. Camera Lady is going to be extra busy separating all of them 😂🕷️
    Your knowledge is invaluable to those like myself Dave. And I for one want to thank you so much for helping me with my fear, so much that as you know I’m the proud Tarantula Mum of 1 of my own 💙💕🕷️😘xxxx

    Hi Dave Such an excellent video. You talked about such helpful information about the right temperature of your spider room. And to high a temp could kill them. Well all of the slings are growing up fast. Camera lady will be busy counting all of the babies, when they are removed from the pots. I really enjoy your channel, and have learned so much about tarantulas. I find them very fascinating, but don't want one😅.❤🕷🕸Cindy USA

    Huge thanks to you dear Dave and Sweet Camera Lady and you both always produce an informative and interesting video where you present your own insights and experiences and share them so generously with us! Common sense 👏 is an excellent thing to have and use and I love that you don't complicate things either! If you compare a heat lamp ( not advisable to use with spiders ) to the sun and do the same with the heat mat it's easy to understand that you need to give your little beastie / spider a choice of warmth or not and a possibility to escape from the heat when it needs too!

    I started out saying i have a questiom and that grew into a whole episode idea! Can you please tell us about what sparked your interest in tarantulas, what was your 1st tarantula, the story of how your collection has grown and what got you into breeding? Perhaps Mrs Camera Lady could also tell us about her introduction to tarantulas...how she felt about them and how that has changed. Maybe how big your collection was when she started to come around all the spiders.
    What are some of the biggest things you had to learn in the beginning? If you were a kid or teen when you started with spiders (of any kind) how did your folks feel about spiders in the house? And what do you still want to do regarding tarantulas in the future? Maybe you could tell us about what are your favorites and least favorites (we already know about the jumping spiders...fear not, I don't judge and actually share your opinion lol). Are there things you wish you did differently? Basically, could you and Mrs Camera Lady give us a history lesson please?
    Thanks and praise from Peterborough Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 ♥️ Thanks my friends!

    (In regards to your egg sack misfortune)
    I invest primarily in commodities and the issue might be a different chemical composition in your water suppliers in order to cut cost while staying within regulatory standards for human consumption and what may be harmless to us could be massive for a smaller organism.
    I only say this due to the absolute explosion in utility prices around the world and especially in the UK. The price increases are beyond absurd and producers of all sorts look for ways to cut cost by using less than stellar suppliers in order to maintain their profit margins.
    It's awful to think about, but big money does not lose and they'll gladly reduce the quality of a product while increasing the price regardless of the second hand implications.
    I say all of this without knowing your exact location so I don't know who supplies your water nor how they make it potable OR if you are using filters (which vary in quality as well)
    Also given the frequency of rehousing the top/garden/farm soil you purchase may also be in the same realm as utility suppliers by adding chemicals like "on the fence" insecticides or "fertilizer substitutes" to make the same quota. - Ukraine is a massive supplier of fertilizer so an alternative would be present in anything sold after the first half of 2022
    - It's all speculation, but like you said there is no major difference other than the frogs being in the room for the first part of the year and only a few things from the broader macro-economic and geopolitical events could have found their way into your Beastie Room
    I can't stop watching your videos btw haha

    Always used to make me me laugh how much cr@p reptile shops would try and sell you needlessly. I never did like ceramic lamps even for my giants as far to localised hotspot causing burns, found greenhouse heat tubes much better as heat was spread. Do agree background heating entire room then individual additions where needed best way. Had seperate tropical and temperate rooms when I was running a big collection.

    YAY Updates and a bit of a tour! Neat to see the slings and their molts. I still love the White Knees. I just find them to be so impressive. Do you have any problem selling your slings on? I'm asking because of the great number of slings you have. And I'm not at all familiar with that aspect of the trade. I'll just enjoy watching you wrangle them. 🙂

    Great video and important tips. On a side note just wanted to know if you keep Arizona hairy scorpions I’m looking for some care info on them and there isn’t much available online🤷‍♂️ I used to keep them when I was younger and recently got more and a OBT sling so I just wanted to keep them as best as possible and your my go to for information.

    I'd love to see how you do fruit flies cultures as I'm having a issue with mine, I keep needing to buy a new one every few months and feel like I'm doing something wrong or not doing something I should :(

    Maybe the communal tank makes it so they do not want any more spiders to overpopulate... and therefore destroy new egg sacs.

    Dave and Camera lady, Love you guys! Watching you have helped me deal with my fear of spiders. Got to ask, have you ever had a runner get in your house or decide they wanted to be close to camera lady? Have a wonderful Christmas 🎄

    So much great info! Thanks for sharing, especially with the temperature management. The pulse will also save you $$$ and energy in the long run, it’s always easier to maintain a temperature than to adjust up or down to the desired temp.

    I keep my T's in the top floor room. I use an electric/ceramic space heater (pelonis, roughly 60£, been using it for 3 months). The fan creates air flow in the room, which I like and is good for the T's. Also oscilates. Dave is spot on about these thermostats and the actual temp you have around the room. All my T's are super happy at 23-25°C and being the top room, warmth makes it way up there from inside the lower levels of the house. Doesn't seem to cost much really so far. Cheers.

      This is a random question. I do not keep spiders, but have watched Dave for a while. Do you worry about a potential fire hazard from leaving heat sources on 24/7?

    • @V-skeptic
      @V-skeptic ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@imthebestmayne122 That's a great question. Yes, I do, but the average household has multiple potential life threatening risks so pick your worst case scenario honestly. These better quality heaters are surge and tip-off protected. If it gets knocked down, it shuts it's self off. I have taught my 8 y.o., my wife and even dog to respect that device and the potential dangers associated. Fire detector checked, socket checked and no highly flammable items in its immediate vicinity. To be extra safe, I've placed it on a fire retardant board as I keep it on the floor/carpet. Since it's December, I feel that my christmas lights have an equal chance to set my house on fire, but hey..we're literally surrounded by danger every day and us hobbyists keep "danger" as pets come to think about it 😁. Thanks for the question. Cheers.
