Aweww....We've visited Muir Wood giant trees. How amazing these little creatures are. They bring a big smile on my face when I see them on the flowers! Nature is incredibly beautiful!! 💜🦋💜🦋💜🦋
I will always remember the afternoon I came upon hundreds of ladybugs swarming on a log in Muir Woods. Right off the main trail near the third bridge across Redwood Creek. I brought my hand to the log and quickly found out what it felt like to be tickled by ladybugs.
Friends lived in the hills above Santa Cruz in the redwoods and for some reason ladybugs would swarm (by the zillions) onto the wallpaper in a couple of sunny spots. Sort of a campground for ladybugs. Forget what time of the year they swarmed. Was quite unusual to see.
@@keithjohnson5398 They obviously picked those areas for a reason. I wonder if it was a scent that attracted them. Or maybe the combination of sunlight, warmth and a certain texture under them. That would have been both fascinating and a little unnerving to have inside one's house. I was going to say in my previous comment "thousands" instead of "hundreds" but did not want to overestimate. Now I think I actually encountered thousands. Thanks for reminding me of Santa Cruz. Lots of natural beauty there.
Those are NOT "Lady Bugs"! Lady Bugs are RED, not Orange. Those are an invasive species which are now present across America. Those are the Multi-colored Asian lady beetle (Harmonia axyridis) are sometimes mistaken for ladybugs or lady bird beetles, and are familiar insects in many parts of the United States.
Maggie Nunez Those are NOT lady bugs!! They are an invasive pest from China! Also if they INVADE your house I believe you would have other adjectives come to mind besides beautiful!!!!
I usually, really love and look forward to the nature segments. I hate to admit it, but this one gave me the creeps. Don't get wrong I like ladybugs. I've had a ladybug or 2 on my hand before without freaking out, but wow I've never seen so many. It reminded me of baby spiders! Why do they gather in bunches? That looked freaky. Feeding? Nests? Mating? Google here I come. Lol

Right! And Ladybugs don’t congregate like this. Asian Lady Beetles are NOT pleasant or beneficial. I wonder if they’ll correct this?
