There's a great book on addiction by psychiatrist Gabor Mate called 'In the realm of hungry ghosts'. It's the best take on addiction I've ever seen. People do it because they're in pain. It is possible to heal enough that you don't need the drugs anymore. Heal your underlying emotional problems and you may well find yourself free of it. But to blame someone for their 'bad choices' is not the correct way to approach it.

So, is it yourself or someone you care about who's stuck?

I never did drugs. Over a decade of meditation. Onky recently started doing drugs due to curiosity. All I can say is that I keep finding how to reproduce all of the effects of drugs without taking any drugs. My body can produce endocannibanoids and DMT I just need to concentrate on certain parts of the body.

The integration is often where the growth/dealing with reality starts. I believe that the culture around some psychedelics is lost/non existent. The old wise guys (like yourself) aren’t there to be giving lived advice and guidance (even though you’re not giving advice or guidance.) maybe culture has evolved to a point where the individual can make their own choices and experiences about such potential experiences, but I doubt it. Thanks for the video, definitely sparked something in me.
I’m still writing a story , at the start of it the main character is given some mushrooms. He forgets about them and goes on a big reality journey, just now as he is nearing the end of the journey does he remember about them, should be interesting to see how I write about what he thinks and does with them.
In reality I havent had mushrooms so that’s interesting too.

If people could learn to navigate their experiences of reality without looking for ways to escape or dumb and numb themselves they'd find true growth.

It's funny how you're talking about not depending on something outside of yourself, I was thinking that earlier today when I had my last cig ever and chucked my filters in the bin, I also vowed to not drink alcohol again (unless someone offers me a beer haha)

Determination on its own can be a powerful thing if the intent is clear

Great content again kye! What are your thoughts about tools like chanting? For me chanting provides relief. Do you think it is likely that people doing allot of chanting or other such practices can also be jumbling up the puzzle? I like that analogy 🙏👍

    • @KyLives2

What is the intent behind the chanting?
