    Fr. John Brown this is the second session I watch, and your sessions have helped me. I slowly begin to grasp about Divine will. In India I have never listened anybody talk about The Divine will. I started listening to the Divine will about 7 to 8 months back since then I am drawn to it. Please do pray for me to have deep understanding and start living In The Divine will. Keep posting these sessions

    I see indulgences as being a type of obedience, where God asks us to "walk on water" and in faith, we do a seemingly ridiculous thing. He rewards us by simply fulfilling HIS PROMISE.

    • @ElijahsCloak

      Roger Iker was a Protestant who converted to Catholicism via the DW. He was explaining what he thought of Indulgences when he was still a Protestant.

    • @-LoriAnn
      @-LoriAnn ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for replying.
      Yes, I did understand that by what he said. It was more about the manner of speaking in which the woman prior to him made her comment and how he chose to reply. To me, or seemed as if they were making light of something given to us through the Church in comparison to living in the Divine Will. They should coexist: one comes to us through Christ’s Bride and the other as a direct gift via the Divine Volition.

    • @ElijahsCloak
      @ElijahsCloak  ปีที่แล้ว

      @LAS I listened again to the question about the indulgences. I think that the questioner was attempting to relate the idea of having the intention of doing an act for the love of God, which gives the act its efficacy, with the efficacy of indulgences. I am only guessing, because the question was not clearly stated. However, the laughter was prompted by Roger's description of what his erroneous conception of Indulgences were when he was still a Protestant.
      I would not infer any derogatory sentiment on their part concerning Indulgences. To the contrary, Roger was being a bit self-effacing regarding his prior Protestant beliefs.

    ¿what abouit our plenmary indulgences ? will we are still held accountable for our past sins???'

    • @ElijahsCloak
      @ElijahsCloak  ปีที่แล้ว

      Assuming that the soul is properly disposed, we will still be judged for our sins but punishment will be mitigated.

    • @MARIO-sq8gq
      @MARIO-sq8gq ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ElijahsCloak Does a plenary indulgence forgive all sins?
      A partial indulgence covers part of the punishment due for sins; a plenary indulgence removes all of it. Both kinds of indulgence come from the merits of Jesus, the Blessed Mother and the saints.This comes from the catecism. As a Fransican (3rd order) we get two plenarys a week, la Corona a 7 mystery rosary on the joys of Mary and the Staions of the Cross on Fridays. Our main goal is the salvation of souls, not focusing on reaching the 4th degree. Every thing for the greater glory of God GGG and to desolve our will into the great ocean of Gods Love

    • @ElijahsCloak
      @ElijahsCloak  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From my understanding, even a plenary indulgence depends upon the disposition of our soul.

    wasn't Adam living in the 4th degree and he still had the tempation of eating apples

    • @ElijahsCloak
      @ElijahsCloak  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are different views on whether Adam was in the 4th Degree or not.
      In the 4th degree, there is still the possibility to sin because the Human Will is always present. However, reaching the 4th degree is a process. And, this process makes it very unlikely that someone in the 4th Degree would sin.
      Regarding your other point, yes, Jesus mentioned that few will live in the 4th Degree because people will always be attached to something in their Human Will.
      I also want to mention that we need to be careful that we do not fall into the Heresy of Quietism. This can happen when we view our role as entirely passive. If we think that we have no role in our spiritual growth, if we believe that we do not need to dispose ourselves, then we are contradicting what Jesus teaches to Luisa and we would be guilty of Quietism.

  • @andrewreynolds1091
    @andrewreynolds1091 ปีที่แล้ว

    God gave us are own will free .
    So by doing the divine will it's taking that away. Giving it back would be wrong surely. Because it is
    god's will to have are own. You cannot give up your own free will .

    • @ElijahsCloak
      @ElijahsCloak  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If understood properly, we do not lose our free will. We always will maintain our free will. The Blessed Virgin who is the Queen of the Divine Will always had her free, human will.
      The gift is that Jesus allows us to participate in His Will. And, at the highest summit of sanctity in the Divine Will, to possess His Will.

      @marydende2259 Fr Brown mentions this at the 1 minute mark. He is referring to a Sister who, after her death, appeared to St Teresa and informed her of her judgment. St Teresa was surprised because the Sister was thought to be Holy during her life. However, the Sister performed her acts in order to APPEAR holy.
