I don't live in snow country, so forgive my ignorance. I take it the snow does not conduct electricity and this allows the locomotives to draw power from the rails. Am I correct?
Fantastic JR! I think G scale is where you can get away with smoke looking almost real (ie. bloody great) and the size of speakers gets you real bass and presence . Also the weight of the cars gets you real momentum and a decent weight . Having self powered locos is definitely the go and takes away a million hassles! They sound and look great , especially with scale couplers! Cheers Gregg.

You are correct, although I converted these to run on batteries. But many people use track power in the snow.

You should definitely lubricate/cure the plow so the snow slides easily instead of getting stuck, it actually makes quite a big difference.
