We live at Linebaugh between Gunn Hwy and Anderson Rd. in the housing development called Plantation. There's a big chance of power outages, I hear you saying. Hopefully what I cook will last us. *4 of 4* The homeless can simply move the tents they are using now into the homeless-village and the RVs are assigned a parking space. *Or the **_Shelter 100,_** provided by FEMA,* is a $9,500 shelter that is climate controlled, built in one hour, is 100 sq. ft., and uses a folding bunk system to house up to four beds. *_Pallet Shelter's_* private sleeping cabins offer *security* and durability. Which addresses the concerns of the homeless who reject the restrictions of “bed-only” homeless-shelters; for only one night.

  • @thehound6061
    @thehound6061 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    *Paragraph 5 of 6.* _We have 12 years to limit climate change catastrophe, warns UN_ At 1.5C the proportion of the global population exposed to water stress could be 50% lower than at 2C, it notes. Food scarcity would be less of a problem and hundreds of millions fewer people, particularly in poor countries, would be at risk of climate-related poverty. At 2C extremely hot days, such as those experienced in the northern hemisphere this summer, would become more severe and common, increasing heat-related deaths and causing more forest fires. But the greatest difference would be to nature. Insects, which are vital for pollination of crops, and plants are almost twice as likely to lose half their habitat at 2C compared with 1.5C. Corals would be 99% lost at the higher of the two temperatures, but more than 10% have a chance of surviving if the lower target is reached.

      What is the strongest hurricane to hit Tampa?
      The 1848 Tampa Bay hurricane, also known as the Great Gale of 1848, was the most severe hurricane to affect Tampa Bay in the U.S. state of Florida and one of only two major hurricanes to make landfall in the area, the other having occurred in 1921.

      Of course, conditions that steer the storm are not the same as they were 101 years ago. Trying to forecast a storm's track by comparing them to past storms' tracks is not valid.

    The National Hurricane Center should always be the ultimate authority. Anyone new to these storms should listen to State and Local announcements and preparation information. I have been through numerous Hurricanes, Typhoons and Tropical Storms. I responded to Katrina with the National Guard and was in Bay St. Louis, MS after it hit. The people who always suffer the most are the ones who didn't prepare or heed the warnings. Better to prepare and be spared than not to and regret it.

    *1 of 4* Cities can eliminate homeless tent encampments by replacing them with *Homeless Shelter Villages* [HSV] using _Pallet Shelter's_ existing *Homeless Shelter Village* [HSV] components. The _Community Room_ sells for $37,000 and serves as a shared laundry room, restaurant, *child daycare center,* and addiction services center. The _Bathroom_ cost $35,000 and the _Services Office_ costs $9,000. So for only $81,000 a city can establish a *Homeless Shelter Village* [HSV]. The 10'X10' *Camping Cube Sport Pop Up Tent* that costs only $120 provides protection from the elements; for two people and their belongings.

    *Part 4 of 33* _2017 is so far the second-hottest year on record thanks to global warming_ For a long time one of the favorite climate denier myths involved claiming that we hadn’t seen any global surface warming since 1998. That myth has fallen by the wayside since 2014, 2015, and 2016 each broke the global surface temperature records previously set in 2010 and 2005 (which were also both hotter than 1998). Yet the myth persisted for years because 1998 was anomalously hot due to the monster El Niño event that year, which meant that global temperatures weren’t much hotter than 1998 until 2014 to today. Now the first six months of 2017 have been 0.3°C hotter than 1998, despite the former having no El Niño warming influence and the latter being amplified by a monster El Niño. In 1998, there was also more solar energy reaching Earth than there has been in 2017.

    The cold front isnt going to drop down like they thought it would......That will stop the northern pull to Tallahassee and the storm will turn and run up the 1-4 corridor in my opinion. That's why the cone of certainty has that huge circular blob in the panhandle now; because the models are still counting on a cold front to pull it north......but i doubt that will happen. I predict a Tampa/St Pete landfall and the I-4 corridor path straight into Daytona to JAX.

If you have to survive due to factors that prevented your evacuation, think through what a minimum 4 day survival takes for rescue. Don’t touch the water as it rises and remain on highest elevation possible within view of air rescue. Please have fluorescent spray paint or smoke to make yourself noticeable.

At a United Nations roundtable on Wednesday, a group of builders, engineers, and architects debuted a concept for an affordable floating city.

      I would personally go towards WPB or Ft. Lauderdale. People will naturally head north so traffic will be somewhat better going south. The south east coast will still get some bands but it shouldn't be too bad and doable in an RV. Otherwise, I would head towards AL if you don't want any affects whatsoever. Those are your best two options in my opinion.

    *Paragraph 6 of 6.* _We have 12 years to limit climate change catastrophe, warns UN_ Sea-level rise would affect 10 million more people by 2100 if the half-degree extra warming brought a forecast 10cm additional pressure on coastlines. The number affected would increase substantially in the following centuries due to locked-in ice melt. Oceans are already suffering from elevated acidity and lower levels of oxygen as a result of climate change. One model shows marine fisheries would lose 3m tonnes at 2C, twice the decline at 1.5C. Sea ice-free summers in the Arctic, which is warming two to three times faster than the world average, would come once every 100 years at 1.5C, but every 10 years with half a degree more of global warming.

    *Part 3 of 33* _2017 is so far the second-hottest year on record thanks to global warming_ July 13, 2017 This news article is from _The Guardian._ With the first six months of 2017 in the books, average global surface temperatures so far this year are 0.94°C above the 1950-1980 average, according to NASA. That makes 2017 the second-hottest first six calendar months on record, behind only 2016. That’s remarkable because 2017 hasn’t had the warming influence of an El Niño event. El Niños bring warm ocean water to the surface, temporarily causing average global surface temperatures to rise. 2016 - including the first six months of the year - was influenced by one of the strongest El Niño events on record. Reality has debunked the ‘warming stopped’ myth.

    *Paragraph 3 of 6.* _We have 12 years to limit climate change catastrophe, warns UN_ “It’s a line in the sand and what it says to our species is that this is the moment and we must act now,” said Debra Roberts, a co-chair of the working group on impacts. “This is the largest clarion bell from the science community and I hope it mobilises people and dents the mood of complacency.” Policymakers commissioned the report at the Paris climate talks in 2016, but since then the gap between science and politics has widened. Donald Trump has promised to withdraw the US - the world’s biggest source of historical emissions - from the accord. The first round of Brazil’s presidential election on Sunday put Jair Bolsonaro into a strong position to carry out his threat to do the same and also open the Amazon rainforest to agribusiness.

    *Paragraph 2 of 6.* _We have 12 years to limit climate change catastrophe, warns UN_ The authors of the landmark report by the _UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change_ (IPCC) released on Monday say urgent and unprecedented changes are needed to reach the target, which they say is affordable and feasible although it lies at the most ambitious end of the Paris agreement pledge to keep temperatures between 1.5C and 2C. The half-degree difference could also prevent corals from being completely eradicated and ease pressure on the Arctic, according to the 1.5C study, which was launched after approval at a final plenary of all 195 countries in Incheon in South Korea that saw delegates hugging one another, with some in tears.
