absolutely loved PJDN, one of my favourite points was the way they used legendary garage tunes to soundtrack the ending scenes in the last episodes of each series. the streets' blinded by the lights, mj cole's sincere, etc. absolute genius use of music to underscore the story.

I have a feeling Grindah is from my home town Epsom (it got two shout outs in the series and he worked at Chessington WOA). I'm intrigued whether i went to school with the dude. I lived in Coventry for three years too funnily enough

TH-cam recommended your channel to me because of your Peep Show stuff and before I watched this video I'd never even heard of People Just Do Nothing. Just finished Season 1 and I was almost crying at the Gabba scene, Steves is too funny. Amazing show, thanks Andrew.
Best show produced by BBC for a while. Saw the original pilot and also caught onto the influence tower block dreams southend episode had on this as saw that live as well. Thought I fever dreamed this when it never come out for a couple of years
They have a great skit in TH-cam with Post Malone. I also find it great how even though their show has ended, they still perform concerts and interviews as their characters! They’re always putting on shows as the PJDN characters!

They were uploaded onto 'wasteman productions' and no one knew about it really and I remember showing it to an older and they said it's taking the piss out of 'Tower block dreams' in Southend and we loved it lol I live in one of the blocks from that documentary so this was a special ting for us man 😂

In America we have PJDN on Netflix. I felt like I couldn’t stop watching because of the humor was very similar to Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I really wish more people in America knew about PJDN

Sniper saying relatively confidently to the documentary team that he loves Michelle in the pilot, even though he plays it down after, is something I always find surprising in the pilot. I can't really imagine episode one Grindah doing that. His equivalent is he 'still likes her' 😂

Yeah, I feel like the first series is a bit less sympathetic to the principal cast of characters overall. Beats and the relationship he has with his family are definitely a highlight as the show progresses 🙂

All this interesting background information makes me love the show even more. I realise there's a reason this show seems so authentic, it's simply because it just is. Steve stamps dad works at the BBC this is why (I guess) he gets the writing credit, as he is the guy that gave them the hook up and essentially got them the foot in the door with the Beeb

Featuring belters such as “maybe it’s maybelline, maybe it’s maybelline, maybe it’s ME”. Definitely worth a listen, it’s on Soundcloud and I think Asim C has it on his account somewhere. PJDN is the best show in the world and nothing can change my mind.

I met dj beats and his wife in a clothes shop in peterborough last year, I asked him if he was him, but I couldn’t remember the name of dj beats and asked him if he was ‘from that show’ he said no and I walked off.
One thing you didn’t touch on is that the portrayal of the council block they live in changes many times between episodes and once you think about it you notice it a lot more
For example the block is set in Brentford but scenes such as Steve’s on house arrest running to the shop, the block scenes are shot on barwick house In acton

It's great. It reminds me a lot of "Trailer Park Boys" especially in how it develops as the series go on. The mockumentary style and petty crime.
