Lyrics:
Well they blew up the chicken man in Philly last
Night now they blew up his house too
Down on the boardwalk they're gettin' ready
For a fight gonna see what them racket boys can do
Now there's trouble busin' in from outta state
And the D.A. can't get no relief
Gonna be a rumble out on the promenade and
The gamblin' commission's hangin' on by the skin of its teeth
Everything dies baby that's a fact
But maybe everything that dies someday comes back
Put your makeup on fix your hair up pretty and
Meet me tonight in Atlantic City
Well I got a job and tried to put my money away
But I got in too deep and I could not pay
So I drew what I had from the Central Trust
And I bough us two tickets on that Coast City bus
Everything dies baby that's a fact
But maybe everything that dies someday comes back
Put your makeup on fix your hair up pretty and
Meet me tonight in Atlantic City
Now our luck may have died and out love may
Be cold but with you forever I'll stay
We're goin' out where the sand's turnin' to gold
So put on your stockin's 'cause the night's getting' cold and maybe everything dies
That's a fact but maybe everything that dies
Someday comes back
Now I been lookin' for a job but it's hard to find
Down here it's just winners and losers and
Don't get caught on the wrong side of that line
Well I'm tired of comin' out on the losin' end
So honey last night I met this guy and I'm
Gonna do a little favor for him
Well I guess everything dies baby that's a fact
But maybe everything that dies someday
Comes back
Put your makeup on fix your hair up pretty and
Meet me tonight in Atlantic City - เพลง
This version hurts me.
Because I love EStreetband, especially Max, but this version sounds perfect.
I love it.
When the snare hits after the intro, perfection
This could possibly be the best live recording of this song
Probably no, of course the BEST!! In mi opinion
Agree. Had it on VHS and watched a bunch in the 90's. Then TH-cam!!!! Love it man.
❤❤❤
In my opinion it is the best version overall. There's something about the pace and atmosphere. Takes me to empty wide roads.
MTV did amazing stuff at one time -
Bruce and bluegrass --the closest we have to Americana
I love the E street but this whole set is phenomenal
I love E Street but they've never been able to have the same intensity and energy that this song needs and this band provides the song.
This isn't the E Street Band that's playing here
@@robertbrooks7805 That's what I said.
@@Jimmie_Rudolfsson I've been trying like hell to find the lineup in this version..absolutely off the charts..any idea?
@mickkollins just look up the Wikipedia page for the In Concert/Plugged album. There's a section for the whole band.
@@mickkollins Bruce Springsteen - lead vocals, lead and rhythm guitar and harmonica
The Band's Musicians
Zack Alford (as Zachary Alford) [7] - drums
Roy Bittan - keyboards
Shane Fontayne - lead and rhythm guitar
Tommy Sims - bass
Crystal Taliefero - acoustic guitar, percussion and background vocals
Gia Ciambotti - background vocals
Carol Dennis - background vocals
Cleopatra Kennedy - background vocals
Bobby King - background vocals
Angel Rogers - background vocals
Apparently this wasn’t well received when it came out. I love this band and version. The bass player and drummer slap 🤘🤘
I can see why. When I first heard this song I didn’t like it. But after listening to Nebraska recently I realized it was one of his best songs
Because it was depressing af.. actually, the entire Nebraska album was depressing af lol
The Saviour of RocknRoll at his best
How did I miss this version. Surely one of the best performances of this magnificent song. That touches the heart and explodes the head!
It was with the other band in 1992
You get get in DVD
More famous than Levon Helm's original! Made me a fan of Springsteen.
That Bruce does it every time.
@@johnwpmusic actually Bruce wrote it and put it out in 1982. Then The Band covered it on their Jericho album.
Absolutely blew my mind, had been listening to the Band version for like 10 years, just found out a year ago that it’s a Bruce song 😆
@@jameskishombe7172 It was also included on his Live in NYC. I was disappointed that the audience participation during "meet me tonight in atlantic city" towards the end was edited out. We did such a bang up job, too! lol
This was how this song was always meant to sound and not the depressing way it was presented on Nebraska
I really think this is the best version of it, no matter if it's with the Other Band
The album version is a masterpiece!
The boss!! In all his glory!! Probably the most simple but best line ever writen.... genius
Agreed!
You can't keep Bruce unplugged for long, love this version from a great concert.
One of the Bruce's greatest songs!
@Ronnie, totally brilliant ... all he sings and plays
This is one hell of a song by one hell of an artist.
These bass slaps are on the f- point. Fantastic version.
100% agree - the bass player and drummer are both great
My favorite version of this song. Funky!
Me too
Bruce’s guitar ringing at the end >>>
What a good song..... I listen to it often
Me too Brother. Timeless truth.
El excelente SHANE FONTAYNE en la 1ra. guitarra , divino.
If somebody asks What is Rock'n Roll and you can reply with ten songs as an example, this would be one of them.
he really lives up to the hype doesnt he
44 years ago the mantel of the future of rock and roll was hung unceremoniously on Springsteen. It created quite the controversy at the time. With some saying it would destroy his career. All these decades later Bruce has shown that he wasn't just a fluke, or just another one hit wonder he lived up to and even surpassed the title of the future of rock and roll 44+ years later those old albums still resonate and the new stuff will lead us easily into the future
As far as I know, STILL the only performer that regularly gives 3-4 hour concerts...despite being in his 70's!
Yeah, fuckin' right he lives up to the hype!
Jersey's finest right there!
Been listening to this version since I was a little kid. 30 now. Best version for sure.👍
Aside from every version form Levon and The Band
Me too. I'm 33 now, my dog is called Rosalita after the song ❤️
My dude, each to their own, but may I commend to your attention the version from live in NYC from 1999, it's here on TH-cam.
And all the E-Street band version too! @@cvandy2252

Melhor versão
Fantastico!
Jakub Voracek brought me here!
Fun fact - "Well they blew up the Chicken Man in Philly last night." - Is a reference to the death of mobster Philip Testa, who was portrayed in the Irishman.
Do you mean, "Whispers"? No. The other "Whispers"?
@@BabyBoomerChannel - 🤣🤣🤣
And his kid was killed in a candy store on my street and left on the side of the road in Jersey by scarfos order. Rip Phil and salvie
That cuts a little close to the bone. I think it was a guy working for Testa who robbed my old man's employer back in the 70s (in Jersey). It was as bad as you'd think.
✨👏🏽👏🏽so Loved❤️️and missed Thank You Bruce🙏🏽💕🌹✨
Bruuuuuuuuuce!
An National Treasure . Like Cash to me just in a league of his own.
Well said.
great❣️❣️❣️❤️✨👍👍👍😘

You are good
And yet the play the Band’s version on the boardwalk everyday

super boss.

This is so much better than the E street version...
Teodoro Medeiros played a little faster, Bruce more animated, better guitar work’ Bittan better on piano Best version, never thought I’d sat this esp ending guitar work
I got debts no honest man can pay
