90’s Hip hop is just amazing. It was so real and passionate back then. When I hear some real dope rhymes and boom bap beats it’s nothing but goosebumps for me.. I was born in ‘93. Always said I was born 20 years late. I got 93 til infinity from the album booklet tatted on my arm. No mans land was dope too and way underrated. They don’t have any bad tracks. True MC’s. So glad this was created. Learned A lot, didn’t know about Dels connection with Ice Cube, & the connection with The AMW crew. Awesome!!!! Kurious is my 3rd cousin.. he’s a freestyle champ, cool that they shouted him out. Much love & respect to Souls & True hip hop...

I'm from NYC but when I heard Cab fare I knew this was my favorite rap crew I'm a big tribe Quest fan but when 93 dropped I knew they were in a different level. Just my opinion but after seeing them live about 12 times over the years they never disappoint‼️Time flies when you're having fun. ✊🏾✊🏾
I've been waiting on this period of Hip Hop to arrive. The stage where we're no longer obsessed with the newest and the latest. An era were we can fully appreciate the past for what it was. Rock and Roll has been there for a while now and it's a sign of the maturity of the art form.
Being a hip hop purest, I always looked at hieroglyphics being a west coast wu tang. But with not wu style .The same way I always saw Dungeon Family as a southern wu tang. Some of the best MC’s out of all these crews Just my opinion.
BRILLIANT documentary! Love how ya'll took song by song from the legendary album and gave the history! Dope to see prominent MC's we grew up with show ya'll love too! Thanks for for many years of true hiphop! 🙏🏽
Before Hiero came on the scene Del said in a verse “the 3rd eye is nothing to smile about” when the logo for Hieroglyphics crew came out that shit blew my mind. I’m not saying that’s what it meant but for kids to pull that apart from the lyrics was dope
10 years later....saw them in LA for the first show of their THIRTY YEAR ANNIVERSARY TOUR! Awesome show, and they're still going strong. Totally sold out the place!
I could write a book about the importance of this album to me. "It means more to me than it could ever mean to you." Ok, picture this: Its freshman year (circa September 1993) of a magnet high school that I felt completely intimidated by. I am from the hood in Nashville, TN. This is not my zoned school or neighborhood friends. I ride the city bus to school and listened to '93 til Infinity EVERY DAY on my walkman; also while in school to avoid interacting with these smart kids that I didn't feel I related to. I felt like this album, this group was the best description of me: a black kid from the hood that loved hiphop and had an extensive vocabulary. Still, the SOM were using words I loved, over beats I loved, with flows that were superior to anything I'd ever heard before. So...I am in the library listening to '93 and these girls were in the library too one table over from me. I was by myself or there was someone at the same table as me, but I didn't really know them. I was trying not to look at the girls because they were sophomores and I thought they were my speed, but had no game to throw at them. I saw them looking at me, but it just drove me deeper into my walkman. One girl gets up and approaches me and she's one of the cuter ones. As she draws near my anxiety grows. She motions for me to come out of my headphones and ask me what my name is. All my 14 year old brain could muster as she and the other girls looked at me was..."I'm the n____ with the better rhymes!" (Limitations) Immediately after I said it I felt like an idiot. Thanks SOM! There's so much more to say. Congrats on holding it down for nearly 30 years. My obsession today is Eshon Burgundy. Y'all should do a song with him. Peace.
Dope ass documentary.. I still to this day support their grind. It was a big win for these brothers to keep their publishings, but the label did them dirty.. salute to his stepfather & their ability to remain steadfast. Salute to Souls of Mischief 💯🫡 Hip Hop Icons who needs to be discussed way more often when speaking about Hip Hop pioneers..
Man, I really hope my generation jumps back to this sound. There was just something so intriguing about this entire era as a whole. When music was more artistic expression as opposed to trend. Nothing sounded the same, raw, real, competitive, free spirited by nature. It was art. Bring this shit back!

A Plus production so on point. Sad Bob James didn’t clear the sample, but didn’t stop Cab Fare from becoming one of the most legendary hip hop tracks ever
These Heiroglyphic/Souls of Mischiefs brothers are the fathers of many rappers styles, known and unknown. Their contribution to hip hop is definitely underrated!
Man....big shout for uploading this doc'. This clique was classic and that '93 til video is SICK! The track, the scenery, the little details in the editing like when A-plus swipes the pool cue to take it to the next scene. The 'new nicks' part...all of it man. From beginning to end. The way they all featured on each verse, rather than 1 verse per man. ...and that logo though. I mean...who didn't want at least a t-shirt with that logo. Haha. epic, straight up EPIC.
I used to see these cats in Berkeley, CA on the corner, at the record store...damn I can't remember the name...freestyling in '91, '92! Then when they album dropped I was like "oh shit!, thats them young cats! I just listened to their whole album '93 til Infinity just yesterday! Classic!

This doco took me back to my school days when I was repping hard for the real hip hop. That wasn't even a full decade ago and I feel a certain type of way; I can just imagine by a fraction how nostalgic some of you vets must feel.
Thank you, A-Plus, Opio, Tajai and Phesto. We have not met but you four are heroes to a Gen-Y light skin mixed brother living halfway across the globe in Australia. I want you guys to know that.
Much love.
Lamoni
Well done young bro for growin up when u did n knowin the real
Lamoni mita, take it u got hiero's Hieroglyphics Third Eye Vision n Full Circle lp's. N if i not heard them Hieros oldies volumes 1 n 2. Track on vol 1 Step to my girl, pretty much a love ode over a beatiful beat but they still go hard.
that's what timeless music does for you. it's a timePeace. bring u back to dat moment in time. bring u right there!!!
Well said young brother 💪🏾
Here I am shedding tears of this documentary! What a group - what a movement!!!!!!
This was a great documentary. I really like how they told all the stories song by song. Alot of really cool stories in here damn. Thanks for putting this together!
So glad to see this! One of the most under-rated groups from the "Golden Age" of Hip-Hop.
I feel u famo. Casual was my dude. love that record Ain't my fault ur girl got caught. I 💘 the whole crew. mad gifted brother s. if they never told u . wouldn't know they were from West Coast. I support all Coast. always have. .
Underrated by who though?
@@nr126 shit lyrically on a hip hop level. wasn't too many rappers fuckin wit them. they were like the West coast version of the Roots to me .they could give Ditc a run for the 💰. underrated nah never that.
@@nr126 man they rarely get brought up when dudes speak all this 90s golden era stuff. For us here in this thread WE know the position they held but the folks not mentioning em shows how many Johnny-come-latelys there are out here.
@@mayonaze2g 93 til is a classic, but every other album they made was hella mediocre so only Hiero heads keep their name alive basically.
This album changed my life. I was 18 and a DJ in a rap group. Just started smoking weed and boom this drops lol. So awesome to see the story behind it is even doper than I thought. Thank you SOM
This was the soundtrack to me and my crews life in the 90’s. We even got a chance to meet them while they were promoting this album. They were super cool and made it a point to kick it with all of us! A-Plus gave me a really cool dap in all. Definitely one of the greatest Hip Hop albums of all time. Still deserves more credit!
As a punker this is one of my most favorite albums of all time....it was art!
I am so glad the world gets to finally see the epic epic film. One of the best hip hop documentaries from one of the most influential hip hop groups of all time. Support. Support.
"Who wants to battle the master?" I fucking love Del! That story is legendary.
93 is a classic. Tell Me Who Profits & Anything Can Happen comes up on my mixes all the time. Respect to these legends ✊🏽
So happy this popped up as a recommendation. Tight documentary. Thank you to the whole Hiero crew for nearly 30 years of fine Hip-Hop.
Cab Fare was on every mix cd of mine growing up. it just had to be on there.
They were such an influence on me. I made all my friends listen to these guys until they realized their brilliance too. This doc is amazing!!!!!
Best thing I've seen in 2023. They were pure grass roots hip hop. Hearing them in college was life changing.
Thank god this finally dropped here, cuz the people needed it....much respect Till Infinity 🙌🏿🔥
This is a surprisingly deep and intricate look at Souls and Hiero in general. Answered even small questions like the horn in Live and Let Live and other incredible bits of info. Simply amazing.
Also, I just now noticed that Bob Power is in the Catch a Bad One video!!
93 til infinity is one of my favorite songs across all genres. The beat, the rhymes, the lyrics.Everything was ahead of its time.
They were young and had a burning desire. Desire with intention. That’s the formula.
Today I turn 21 🎁🎊so this is my birthday gift from you guys 😁😁.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥i always wondered what happened to you guys but I figured that the gate keepers was buging out🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️.Lol can't believe you guys have all these og's in this bro.😂😂😂❤❤❤😂😂😂😂🔥🔥🔥🔥my mind is blowing right now bro.
#90s
I’m 28 years old now . But never forget the first time I heard 93 til infinity ,,, the feeling that song is crazy .... infectious
Used to play this all the time working on the nightshift. The production on this record is incredible, so many crazy basslines
Wow, this is a fantastic documentary. We need more docs like this...digging deeper into this amazing era of music and culture. Love it.
I was 19 when this came out. I'm glad I'm getting old cause living thru the golden age was worth it.
Casual...underrated emcee imo
He's a absolute animal...
Like a lot of people, souls of mischief is part of the soundtrack to my life. thankyou for everything! 93 til infinity
10 years later....saw them in LA for the first show of their THIRTY YEAR ANNIVERSARY TOUR! Awesome show, and they're still going strong. Totally sold out the place!
Album came out 10 years before I was born and I still vibe wit it
I could write a book about the importance of this album to me. "It means more to me than it could ever mean to you."
Ok, picture this: Its freshman year (circa September 1993) of a magnet high school that I felt completely intimidated by. Peace.
no.
we could all do that for this album. It was that album that marks time
Damn I wanna hear more!
lol what happened after you said that
Dope ass documentary..
How did I just see this today? Almost was late for work. Just finished 11 hours later. 10/10. I wore this tape out, had to get it on CD.
93 TIL INFINITY WILL always be one of my favorite tracks!
Legendary group! Preciate your contribution to the culture, craft and Art form!
RESPECT
fantastic doc about a classic album from a legendary crew! i still can't believe del rocked an expos cap on the cover of his first album, big props from montreal! bring back our expos!!!!!! yo, shout out to simahlak (sidney), used to rock a heiro-souls pendent around his neck, probably still has it. peace yo.
Much love to the Hiero crew, saw you guys at Toads Place 1993 New Haven, CT. opening for Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul, UNREAL show! My crew and I already had your debut album.....93 Til’ Infinity.......one love.....from Southern Connecticut!
Stezo (RIP) was there that night! Much love man!
@@clearlabelrecords Stezo still alive far as I know.
@@jameskonners8304 Unfortunately, he passed away last April.
Salute SOM Love you all for your contribution to my life the art is real great documentary still watching and listening to 93' till Infinity to this day- Truly a master piece, takes me to a hard to describe place.
Love and respect 👊💖🖤🔥
I had a cassette I found at a thrift store. One of the baddest legit hip hop ever to be created. Massive music. Massive crew . No one can talk shit on these guys. Period.
I remember when this album dropped. I went to castlemont on 86th and MacArthur, east Oakland. I remember when casual filmed "thats how it is' at that liquor store on 96th and MacArthur.
Old school. 93 til infinity is a top 5 all time beat.
I used to walk up 82nd to get to the house. Saafir used to post up in front of Jim liquor.
Good year for music.
History man. I was walking home from school one day. And I heard this dude ask his homie, "you ever heard of Nas"
#EastOakland100s
Dude, listen to that’s how it is on the LP, and then listen to the video version. It’s been one of my favourite songs since the day it came out, and I JUST noticed that the bass in the video is a tint but different than the album
I just listen to 93 Til and I got to say it gave me nostalgia of simple times most of us took for granted. It just take you to a place where your mind just wonder, rebroadcasting memories that gave you the most dopamine.
Much love, Shalom!
🎧😌 "93 Til' Infinity". Crazy how that year in general was so synonymous with so many hip-hop classics from Souls, to Tribe, Wu-Tang, and Black Moon. 😌 7th grade in junior high and that was a DOPE ass year in hip-hop history! 😏👍🏾 Souls of Mischief and Hiero definitely made an impact in the culture!

Love Souls and all of Hieroglyphics. Til Infinity. ⚫⚫⚫
The entire Hiero crew is underappreciated as a whole...give them their flowers! These dudes are the definition of hip hop to the core....
Amazing documentary and history of Souls Of Mischief
Preserve this in the hip hop Museum 👑
yo I just found this and I must say it warmed my soul! I've been rocking with them since day 1 and this gave me everything I ever wanted. it was so dope hearing about them linking up as kids. I love them and how they have stayed together all these years.
93 til infinity. The song lives forever. I was 15 when it came out-seems like yesterday. Great group and seem like even better human beings
One of my all-time favorites. I saw you guys with The Pharcyde in MA like 20 years ago!
The Doc made me go back and listen to the album again last night....such a classic album!!
These dudes are dope til infinity ♾ 90's hip hop will always be the best
Man I wish Cab Fare was available on streaming platforms
same here its so dope.
Try TH-cam that's where I got it
You sir are a real one.
Hit me up if you need the MP3. Peace
since a kid they have been my Idols their sound has helped me get through hard times,
I'm greatful for The Souls of Mischief much love 🙏!
That first album is up there in top 10 best hip hop albums of all time. The beats was ridiculous just a new sound@!! Third eye vision classic also.
Just found this documentary on TH-cam...93 to Infinity was my favorite 90's Hip Hop classic and that's saying A LOT especially for an East Coast dude like me! Respect, SOM!!!!!
I split up my elementary years growing up in Detroit and Toronto. I remember my dad and sister jamming to this song during long drives in between. Definitely a part of my childhood I’d treasure. Back then we had cassettes and CDs, now they are obsolete! Will definitely introduce this to my niece and nephew when they’re old enough to appreciate it
Dopeness! 1 of the best Hip Hop groups ever! Much respect from Costa Rica!
A Plus production so on point. Sad Bob James didn’t clear the sample, but didn’t stop Cab Fare from becoming one of the most legendary hip hop tracks ever
Bob James is a turd
@@bsommer1717 naw at one point he was willing to give them the clearing but the people that owned the show taxi didn't allow it so paramount is a turd
When I first heard 93 Til I felt that the west coast finally had an answer to Tribe. Timeless album!
Now we get documentary about our youth music groups :-) We're getting old.
From the second I heard 93 til I was like ahhhhhhhhhhhh this shit is sick...I was 15 man crazy I can't describe the feeling..
I was born in '93 so this ish is special and personal
I'm speechless. Beautiful documentary. Much love from Canada.
This group was before it's time, right on time. They made people respect the WEST COAST even more. OAKLAND!!!!!
Incredible documentary, super underrated group, light years ahead of time ⌚, Legends.. A monumental hip hop classic, 93 Til Infinity.. Indeed 💯
This is one the best hip hop documentaries I have ever seen. 🔥 🚒
93 Til is one of the greatest tracks of all time
Saw them all live when I lived in Philadelphia
I used to see these cats in Berkeley, CA on the corner, at the record store...damn I can't remember the name...freestyling in '91, '92! Then when they album dropped I was like "oh shit!, thats them young cats! I just listened to their whole album '93 til Infinity just yesterday! Classic!
