I can’t decide what my favorite part is. Jon just eating the hornworm like oneself would eat a piece of popcorn, the beardie running after the roaches, the bird they brought in, the super cool cake, or Cheyenne driving.

I think there is a great deal of overlap in the fanbases. The friends who recommended Snake Discovery to us also recommended Ants Canada.
who thinks that when the zoo opens they should put up live web cams on their website for like rex and the turtles and some of the larger reptiles because i would love that
They have mentioned a live cam of Rex in the future.
Possibly! However, it might be a bit dangerous, as someone may figure out the staff’s routine and try and rob the place. Another thing- Rex and the larger reptiles should have some privacy, I know some reptiles don’t like children banging on the walls shouting “MOVE MOVE MOVE!” if they see Rex sleeping in the webcam. Or, just privacy in general.
Plus- somebody could hack the stream/webcam/video and show some... let's just say not good stuff. The chance is slim, but possible.
Maybe they could make the webcam on only during busy hours?

I will never get tired of these updates. I’d love to keep seeing them even long after the business is fully open and running. The “starting a business” aspect of this channel is every bit as wonderful as the “amazing reptiles” parts

As someone who has had a job with and without a locker I must say it’s a great idea you hung those up. It’s just nice knowing your stuff is safe and going to stay in a clean place where you left it. Also the bulletin board and the holders for paperwork is a great idea to communicate with staff if you can’t see them when they come in or leave. You guys are doing great

They're bought as cute little babies who can fit in a 20 gallon. But people don't do their research and end up with a huge lizard that needs over 40 gallons and a mixed diet of greens and insects.

It is sad that people do not do their research before buying.
Are the wood rafters treated? If not, humidity, especially under that plastic translucent material will likely get at them and cause them to deteriorate quickly. You may want to paint them either way for now to help protect them from the elements, and make them last longer. (Treated wood prices are even higher than regular wood right now)
It's awesome that you have a vet next door! It's going to be really helpful if there is any emergency.(knock on wood)
I love that the first birthday party in the facility is Emily's it's basically like quality control have one of the owners have the first birthday party so no customers get disappointed if they don't have something ready and they will know what it was if Emily's like oh my God what happened to this I guess we need to buy this

the green mesh in the greenhouse is shade cloth to help reduce the intensity of the light for growing plants.
The rooms look amazing from the giant one-room warehouse type building it used to be. Happy birthday, Emily!

i live 15-20 minutes from ars' building and im SO excited to get one of their racks. Your guys' channel is what inspired me to save for it. I love your videos, by the way. Sadly, I cant watch them all of the time due to working 12-14 hour days at times, but it's always a highlight of my day

This channel is what has helped me realize that this is the job I want to do in the future. I've gotten my first snake since I began watching this channel. Ive done so much research, changed my mother's view of snakes, held big snakes, small snakes, and everything in between. And I'd just like to thank you guys at Snake Discovery for getting me started on the journey.
The way that gorgeous Bearded Dragon scuttles across the floor at 14.09 is LITERALLY the cutest thing I have ever seen in my entire 27 years of life 😂😂 Now I know why my husband wants a group of beardies 😍 They are just such adorable giant goofballs!

Question!! Are your employees comfortable being on camera and can we get to know them on the channel too? Totally understand and respect their privacy if they aren't looking to become involved in the channel, but it would be super cool to see a video introducing them and getting to know them.
I absolutely agree!! I'd LOVE to know the amazing people who have not only already done SO much for the facility, but who have also just joined our Snake Discovery family!
But at the same time I fully want to respect their privacy and any choice they make in regards to being filmed/their privacy/preferences to keep work and personal lives separate.
If they're okay with being on the channel, I'd love to see "A Day at the Zoo" from their perspective.

I feel this comment a lot, i have anxiety related to autism that can get really really bad too and videos can sometimes really help to distract and calm myself. I hope your anxiety will get better and that you can live more comfortably ❤️

Emily, Ed! I think I know something to help Cheyenne to stop plucking! Try pluck no more by king cages. Put it in distilled water every day and spray them with some 3 times a day. You often will need to go through 1-3 bottles before it works but I recommend trying it! Keep doing it until all the feathers go back. Hope I can help! Love you guys!
Answer to the question at the end: There is a mythical being in my culture known as Domaći (translation: locals) which are a type of supernatural elves that go around and help the poor and single mothers with their chores at home, and require respect and a little food in return!
Here we have Brownies, they help with house chores in the night so when Mum wakes up in the morning, its all clean, ready for the day, they like sweet things.

Yes i totally agree! I think there should be locks on all their enclosures in all parts of the facility as you don't know how could be looking to take some reptiles and it is open to the public
I absolutely agree you need to lock adoption island cages. It is also a very sad fact that not all parents watch their kids and little hands could cause a disaster. Also it is not just kids who could cause havoc, people in general to day don’t all share the moral character and fortitude of respect for others property, pets, and health and safety. Secondly you don’t want any fingers munched or injuries to come to the animals to be adopted. The animals are under stress from being surrendered they don’t need to be harassed by others in their environment.

I’m sure you already have ideas about that outdoor area, but how cool would it be to have picnic tables out there for people to hang out and, weather permitting, have snakes or lizards out there in some enclosures. Lunch with the critters.
Iunno how well outdoor experiences would go in Minnesota? And I'm not sure how much room they have, but I do like the picnic table idea! I feel like zoos tend to have them with their outdoor enclosures and for some reason animal sculptures (which would work on this instance if possible).

Hi Snake Discovery, I just wanted to let you know that you guys were mentioned on another TH-cam channel! There is this guy that goes by the name of Ants Canada (who keeps ants as pets and makes informative videos on ants) and he made a video where he found a baby ball python. He lives in an area where they are native too and mentioned you because he told his viewers to go and check you your guys channel if they wanted information on how to keep snakes and to make sure his viewers know the problems that arise from keeping snakes. Anyway just thought you should know that you have a friend that is telling his viewers to check you out before getting their first snake.
