Today I had gone through my 3rd box, and scored 12 wheaties, all 1944-'59. Upgraded my book with a few. Being in Michigan I get several Canadian in every box, usually 25-30 ranging dates from 1940s- 2019. Would love to send you some for a future Giveaways! Thanks again for all the great fun!
That Robinhood guy seems like a great fellow. I like how he brings his kids into the hunt. My kids are in their 40's and have never shown any interest in coins.
Rob, thank you for the GREAT inspiration! I picked up my first box ever today, of pennies. I'm not counting the $30 in loose pennies someone dropped off a few weeks ago. Not a great haul, I'm afraid, alhtough I did find a 1919 and 1936 wheaties, along with a couple other 50's wheaties. I also found a few Canadians, including a 1932! I pulled out all the 1982's, and will be ordering a scale like you use soon, to figure out copper or brass. I found a few 2009's, but no Denver mint. Oh well, at least my Philly part is complete! I promised my bank I'd only get a box every other month. LOL Nickels next!
Love these videos. It's getting harder for me to obtain boxes of circulated coins. They're a pain for banks to handle. I tend to throw unspecial 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's back into the wild. I once looked through a box and had almost enough 1964's to make two rolls. Someone got an entire roll of 64's. Obviously when they have steps I save them.
I can't wait to branch out to search for nickels. I'm on just searching pennies at the moment. Great finds from both boxes. Can't wait to see who prevails at the end.
Awesome video Rob. I never have goodluck from my town boxes, which Red Bay only has a population of about 2500 people, but the bank I use in a bank 30 miles away, Wells Fargo, I've gotten silver in every nickel box I have gotten from them. I love these box battles so thanks so much for sharing.

I've done my own similar test with nickels and pennies. My small town was about the same as big town for nickels, but much better on pennies. This is fun to watch!

Wow, suprized me so far, I thought little city would do better. I always thought that loomis rolls were the way to go so I gave up on my small town bank , now use Chase bank.

Interesting concept, I'd be interested to see a third box from a super small city. Waco might be small by Texas standards but its bigger than every city in my home state. Try getting them from Throckmorton or some place like that

It's a 1955 P - semi-key date. Only 7.888M minted. The 1955d has almost 75M minted. IThe 1955P is actually the 7th lowest minted Nickel of all the regular business strike Nickels ever minted. That makes it hard to find and a valuable semi-key date (in MS65 condition or better).
I have a question I just opened of a penny roll while watching the vid and I have a coin from Poland that says 5 groszy on it is it possible for u to tell me the approximate price I would be able to sell that for at a coin shop
If anyone is wondering how Nic-a-Date actually works to reveal the date, here’s how: When the coin is struck, the metal that becomes the date is squeezed denser than the surrounding, flat metal. Thus, even when the coin appears dateless, the acid will dissolve the surrounding, softer metal faster than it will dissolve the actual date, so the date is revealed.
