If Baest appeared in the 90s, they would be considered one of the greatest death metal bands ever. And you know what - they still are one of the greatest, at least for me! Grooviness is godly, some of the licks are just so sick and vocals are perfect for my taste. Really excited what the brings the future, since their songwriting seems to be getting better with every new release.
More bands like this need to exist. More need to take after greats like Death and Opeth. This is damn good song writing/flow, groove. Harmonies. Everything. So sick

I hear Death in parts, especially in the incredible transitions, but to me the slow, crushing offerings from Baest are always what I liked most about Morbid Angel - I thought that was a huge part of what made them sound truly unique. Baest feels fresh. It isn't frenetic and overly technical. It's all feel and head bang.

This band is so good, it reminds me of The dark non progressive side of opeth (i don't know if they are influenced by them or not, but there are plenty of similar riffs in still life, blackwater park, watershed) ! That's why i love old metal bands, they had many influences not only by metal, but by many genres outside metal too. New bands for good or for worse, are metal to the core culturally and professionally ... But they're still unique, there aren't too many bands like this one.
