    I've had mine for three years. Installed a LR Baggs magnetic PU. I was looking for a Martin when I ran across the RD 328. With the excellent building materials, I thought I'd give it a listen. It played and sounded great! I hate it when people say, "great for the money". This is a great guitar period!!!! I walked out with this guitar, a case, and a set up for $800.00. I play it regularly, but I also have other guitars. This is the only Rosewood acoustic I own with 30-year aged Adirondak Spruce top. It is something special. Yes, it is great out of the box, and yes, it is opening up and improving as time goes by, the "V Neck" takes a little getting used to, but I don't even think about it now. If you look at the shape of your hand as it holds the neck, it is a "V" shape, so you adjust naturally.

    I have the RD-318 and it's an absolute beast of a dreadnought. It's loud, and crisp sounding especially with D'Addario XS strings. I brought it to my local guitar store to get a strap button installed and the guy that works there told me that a Martin HD-35 didn't even come close to my RD-318! I feel like once more people start buying these, the prices will go up like they did with Eastman a number of years ago.

      Awesome! I’m likely doing a video on these in the next week or so. My local shop has a few…at the moment, and I wanted to compare a few of them.
      It’s an absolute beast for the price for sure.
      Thanks for the comment and for watching! More to come for sure.

      @@codymmusic I picked the RD-318 because I have a preference for Mahogany over Rosewood. I'm going to bet the RD-318 has a bit more bite to it than the RD-328 because of the Mahogany B/S

    I bought mine 4 months ago and it holds up against anything. I LOVE it and I have more expensive guitars.

      @@codymmusic Not yet and I play it all the time. I will now keep a closer eye on it. It sits on a stand in the living room and I pick it up every day. So far, it holds its tuning well. I am a campfire/cowboy chord player and want to learn bluegrass so this might be the channel. Subbed.

      What capo works on the V neck best for you?

    • @codymmusic
      @codymmusic  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I use the Paige Click ETI mainly. But really, all of them make it go out of tune more than I’d like. It helps a lot if I tighten both the E and B tuning machines really…so it may be a combo of Capo shape, neck shape, and tuning machines’ developing “play”. Thanks for the sub!

    I just got one of these yesterday which I think was a used guitar. It was on sale for 475. I traded in my Yamaha(which I got in a different trade) and paid 325 for it.

    • @kellyreed8714
      @kellyreed8714 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @codymmusic Sounds a lot better when I changed the strings on it. They were rusty and thudy sounding when I tried it. When I hit a G chord harder I could tell the real sound was trying to come out. It also has that nice acoustic guitar smell. The bracing on the inside also blew me away.

    Thanks for the review. How are the frets? Smooth? Even?

    • @codymmusic
      @codymmusic  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Honest answer…They’re smooth and play well, but when I play higher end guitars, such as my bandmates’ Bourgeous, I can tell a difference.
      That’s not to say there’s anything wrong, but just a noticeable difference.
      Thanks for the comment, and for watching! Stay tuned for more and have a good weekend!
