Their show was screened in Australia in 1971, when I was 15 years old. I watched every episode, and still play their music. Amazing entertainers. There will never be another duet like them.

My stars! Looks like I am the first person to view this video and obviously the first to comment about the Everly's video. They displayed a very charming personality for the show and were very entertaining. Love them always and always love their music!!

Finally got to see it. I waited more than 455 years and have been trying to get it for last 8 years on the Internet. My dad made me miss it was first broadcasted in 1970.

They were always so easy going and I loved to listen to them speak, about anything! It's hard to believe when Phil was asked if he finds that women chase him, that he responded, "no they chase him" and pointed to Don... Phil would be the one I'd go after in a second... love these two and their sweet voices.
    R.I.H. Phil and Don..
    Soundtrack of my youth 🎼🖤

Love them both - but I’d be after Don in a heartbeat…he’s always smokin’ hot! Not sure if it’s the deep velvety speaking voice, the dark glossy hair, the smiley eyes (specially when he smoulders down the camera in close-up), his very funny comic asides or the often husky baritone singing voice…probably it’s the whole package!

3:40 Don’s comic delivery is always really funny…

I know there is or was a video on TH-cam of Don Everly singing a duet with Melanie Safka of Mick Jagger's and Keith Richards' beautiful baroque ballad "Ruby Tuesday." As recorded by The Rolling Stones that tune was quite beautiful as it was. But Don and Melanie's interpretation leant another dimension to the song which was also wonderful to hear. Since that duet is not in this episode (#5) of the Everlys' summer replacement series for "The Johnny Cash Show" I researched further and discovered Melanie also appeared on the very first episode of the summer series, which is , presumably, in which she sang the duet with Don Everly.
Melanie also had a hit recording with her cover of "Ruby Tuesday," not quite a Top 40 but sill #52 on Billboard Hot 100 in 1970. by comparison, the Stones' version reached #1. And although the song is credited as a Jagger-Richards tune, the song was actually written by Richards (lyrics) with arrangement assistance by Brian Jones, the latter who played flute, piano and recorder on the recording session for the song.

RIP Don Everly, who died yesterday August 21, 2021. This was originally in color in 1970. This show was a summer replacement show for Johnny Cash. This is some kind of technical black and white tape copy with the time clock running. By 1970 all TV was in Color. Too Bad this show was not a permanent one.....it could have lasted at least 3-4 years. The guests were top notch, the energy really high, and the Everly Brothers were very charming and witty.

Interesting to hear them do “Lady Madonna” and other Beatles songs. The Beatles must have been chuffed at that since the Everlys were big heroes of theirs. They seem so comfortable in front of the camera, too. Obviously they had been performing for years but hosting a TV show is quite different than performing concerts. I loved being able to see one of these shows in its entirety. Thanks for posting it!!

Don's Sweet Baby James really underscores the drama of the tune. Its a new take on it, IMO.

when Don mentions that they were in the Marines, there was a BOO from the audience. hard to believe such a time existed but boy did it ever. it raises my blood pressure when I think of the INCREDIBLY disrespectful behavior our Viet Nam vets endured. this was a time when the military was hated by many who couldn't seem to separate the bad idea from those who served. someday we may know the truth about why they were there at all but I wouldn't count on it.
