I have a spot lamp rim from the Delta that Biasion crashed at 11:28 as I was marshalling when he crashed, they were both knocked out briefly and then wanted to continue in the rally. Mad but brilliant days 👍🏻

30 years ago on the nose pretty much. Where'd that time go? I'd stay up to watch these

Or Tony Mason expressing surprise that Miki Biasion is out, then you see his car drive off that is only barely recognisable as a car, let alone a Lancia!

I love Didier Auriol - "It's muddy mud mud maximum mud"! Not quite as good as the one from another year when he talks about not being able to see through his "ice cream"

Was that Auriol or was it Delecour?

    Impressive list of manufacturers:
Lancia, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Mazda, Subaru, Nissan & Ford..... Wouldn't mind that many nowadays.

Also - that bit of in car footage from Malcolm Wilson. Assuming he was in first gear around the hairpin, that must have been a 7-speed gearbox! I had no idea they had that many ratios to work with back then!

Yes 7 speed with no flappy paddles, you were permanently changing gear

6:38 I was there! I remember it was the day Freddie Mercury died.

I was there too and remember waking up that morning, in our B&B, to the news Freddie Mercury had died.
