Hey, pizzaflix, that was pretty good! As a film, I found it enjoyable, but the really special part for me was it's connection to the Philippines and the fact that it was filmed on location, or at least, seemed to be filmed on location, in the Philippines. As a Filipino, it was greatly appreciated. I wonder why Hollywood doesn't feature the Philippines or Filipinos in many of their big budget films anymore?

World War II was a terrible period of time in American history but it did unite us as one people. No Democrats or Republicans, no black white, even Asian, no Northerners or Southerners just Americans. I don't think we would be like that today even if we were all under attack. I hope I'm wrong and the test never comes.

David, you are so correct. We need this type of patriotism today as we have many domestic enemies in our country today (more than we had back then. I'm in my 80's and I remember back in the early 40's how tight security was).

Nice mix of Philippine clips, but the boys never got farther than Hollywood. Interesting story-line . Kamanya sa Pilipinas began Dec 8th 41 and finished May of 42. I always remember the date because it's the day after Pearl Harbor and because my wife is Pilipina.

How could they have filmed this in the Philippine Islands? In 1942, Japanese forces had already liberated the Philippines from American colonialism!
