I've always heard stories of "dead air" pockets in mines but I've never gotten the chance to ask a miner how it really is.

The value of old LEVI's jeans goes back to an "all-call" from the LEVI company itself. If memory serves, most if not all of the original sample and patterns from the company's early history burned in a large fire. To get back their history, the company used to offer a sizeable bounty for samples dating before the fire. Shouldn't take much digging to find the full details on this, but I'm short on time at the moment. Even if this pair isn't worth anything, it's a cool find for the history of the town.

I dittod this action!!!!!!!!! And the thought behind it!!!
B really is amazing

I feel with every video, the excitement of exploration just builds. And it feels like we're exploring with you! History revealed before our eyes. Love the quote "It's not what you find, it's what you find out." Congrats on the Levi's!!!
It does my heart good to hear you say you are excited for the future. So many people are not these days. Congratulations on finding the Levi's - love your videos!
Damn near jumped out of my skin reading the title!!! Wooo hooo!!!! Feel like we have all been on the Levi's treasure hunt with you since the beginning 💜🖤
I was so stoked and on board with the levi Jeans! You finding your white whale gave me stars in my eyes Brent!
I know this video is 1 year old now! Been watching all the episodes from the beginning to catch up with your current adventures.
Really awesome stuff to watch, love the sense of adventure and the beauty of the land around you!
I’m a cave diver, and you’ve definitely sparked some new interest for me to check out some mines and dry caves!
Brent: "How are we going to get across this 12 foot chasm with a drop that leads to certain death?"
Tim: "We have rusted steel beams that haven't been stress tested in over 100 years."
Brent: 👁👄👁 "You know what, it wouldn't hurt to try."
"Maybe we'll find some dynamite!"
To be fair, it would probably only hurt once.
Yeh that was the scariest part for me to watch. But it was worth it in the end because he found the Levi's
@@69mag yeh they sure did. But did not explode. Which is good. Thank God!!!
@@varjen018 The fall doesn't hurt, it's the sudden stop.
Eureka! There's Levi's in them there mountains! Congrats Brent! You deserve this more than anyone!!
That hoisting engine on the 400 level is honestly so exciting! I work on antique steam engines, so honestly I'd love the challenge of trying to get it working, somehow.
Brent is the coolest person to explore these old abandoned mines he’s like the person that will do crazy things to find even crazier things 🤙🏽
Thank you for another great video I really enjoyed your passion and presentation. I wish I could see your town in person but I live in Sydney Australia so looking in on you videos is like being there . That museum of yours is fantastic .cheers mate from Rick in Australia
YES! Archaeology gets a rep for being treasure hunting, but it is ALWAYS what objects can tell you about ancient people that is the most important thing about the things that are found! (I am studying archaeology and there are so many memes about this)
"Old dynamite is very sensitive a step 20 ft away could set it off"
Tim: you want the bag? *dump*
Me: 👁👄👁
Also me to myself: He posted the video he's still alive
He ends with: "I will see you next week" - no video this week 😬
If it had blown thats where they would be staying it be goodnite lrene..
This time he got away but next time we could easily watch a news about how two people died in an old mine!! The bag didn't worth the risk for sure...
Yeah. If they keep doing stuff like that one day we might end up waiting for an upload that wont happen though
This is why i will not be surprised if this channel stops posting.
Living my dream! Lived in 29 Palm's for a while. Found such peace going off track and discovering lost mines. Found a one the local Rangers didn't even know about! I never went down any of them, I never had the experience or equipment
Love every single video he posts.
Tight line walking over a huge drop while using a rusty old railway track …had me on the edge 😀
G'day mate, when ever we get out of lockdown in Australia, my plan is to visit the USA, and l would love to visit you whole town, l live in a Gold mining town called Bendigo and it's still mining Gold since 1851 and going strong, love what your trying to achieve, all the best, cheers, Neil.
Hi fellow Bendigodian!
I live in Melbourne, is there anything to explore in Bendigo like in cerro gordo? Or is everything closed off and shutdown
@@kayboku7281 I'm in Melbourne too. I visited the Central Deborah Gold mine in Bendigo a few years ago and they do great underground tours.
There's a lot of gold mining sites north of Walhalla (east of Melbourne) in the Aberfeldy area.
@@kayboku7281 hi Mate, Bendigo has underground tours of a working gold mine right in town and the city is surrounded with old gold workings and historical sites, to the north their is a working gold mine that has tours, best if visiting, call into the tourist information Centre in a large historical building right in the middle of town, hope you can come here soon, cheers, Neil.
@@norsehall309 its funny ive lived in Australia 40 years and never once have i ever thought of going into a mine as a fun exploration thing to do! Until I watched this channel! The thought of going into a mine before this seemed like something to avoid! (unless your getting paid big $$$). Hey theres a point Brent, if Cerro Gordo does fall over, come work in Australia in the mines and you will be paid big $$$$$
These videos are so interesting to watch. It makes me nervous for you being down there!! So crazy to think people dug out all those tunnels and would work under ground like that!!
Those people were miners and to survive they have to work! Is just that simple.
Beautiful finding. I'm amazed of your sense of orientation in the mine.
Know that a lot of us will revel in this moment just as much as you are! This is an amazing find. So happy to finally see you find the coveted Levi’s Brent!
Watching all the way from Sydney, Australia - So good to be taken on this journey so far away.
I like Tim, we need to see more of Tim
Thats amazing. As an archaeologist I can really relate with the experience of discovering relics of the past. I am really happy that u finnaly found the treasure you were searching for. Keep up the good work Brent.
You guys are brave mf’ers for going down these incredibly dangerous mines but I’m glad there are people out there who’ll do it because the history of the mines and the miners who worked in them need to be recorded and preserved
Well said..I agree..the way the world is now when people hate so called manly things..they forget things like this suffer
.not many house building carpenter miners electricians and other trades that are hard work and require a good brain..respectable stuff
And sorry to comment so late I see it was a year ago.so.dnt worry you dnt have to go back jst to comment..jst liked your comment was well said
@@joshuataft5541 All good my man I'm glad there's people out there who agree with me. Plus I'm a huge history buff and love all things Americana
Levi's should sponsor you as much advertisement you give them.Myself,I can't afford Levi's.
They are 19.99 a pair at Walmart and many other places.
@@Kiev-in-3-days Because you have to state if you are sponsored by a company.
@@Kiev-in-3-days True, but considering how he barely has any adverts on his videos (which is daft as it's a form of income), I think he's genuine.
I think that Brent's passion is so inspiring and motivating.
So happy you finally get to find a Levi's pants !
Thanks! Would like to visit when the weather gets better in the spring 2023
I'm from the Philippines and we are still on lockdown, so watching other people explore some places are exciting for me. But always remember to keep safe and be healthy guys.
Yay! We finally found a pair! Much love all the way from Australia
as a native american i have mostly good feelings about this channel on one hand whitey killed injuns to acquire these mines, and on the other i admire the frontier aesthetic, as it is one i have grown up with. i and my mother (i showed her the video) were deeply saddened by the destruction of your lovely hotel. keep on keeping on
@@fkUTube449 yeah depends on what tribe and what treaty you are talking about
We have been here since the start and have become so invested in everything that has happened and will continue to happen. It makes us so happy that you discovered your jeans finally. We hope the journey underground brings you closer to the end goal of learning about your town and sharing it with anyone who would listen. From sunny South Africa we hope to always be able to watch and feel like we are on this path with you for years to come and that things will only continue to grow.
I noticed there's a quantity of thumbs down for this video. What kind of person doesn't like this adventure?!?!? And if they don't like this content, why watch? Brent's adventures and enthusiasm for what he's doing is inspiring. No I'm not gonna buy an old mine and preserve history...however, I have pressed forward with some things in my life because I caught the energy from Brent to move forward fearlessly and learn along the way. 👍👍👍👍
Man while myself am absolutely terrified I'm also astonished by your bravery, descending into a pit black hole abandoned for decades? Seems like going straight to hell's entrance! Maybe it's just too much horror movies, but if my brain decide to pick a prank on me making me imagine 2 glowing eyes in the shadow, I'm dead by heart attack.
Incredible video!!
THANKYOU
Deb
Australia
Tim's a beast! Props to him risking it for the biscuit
More videos with Tim
The Levis!!! WoooOoOooOo 🥳 One day i hope to come see them in person, fingers crossed.
I loved it when he just picked the bag up and emptied it and just said well… do you want it or not hahaha not one f was given haha and then Brent said well that happened. I had to watch that clip a few times it made me laugh
Brent's a kind guy, anyone else would have told him off.
Soooo excited when I saw those jeans, I don’t know how you kept yourself in check and remained as calm as you did Brent! Fantastic find!
I love your dedication & passion for the history; it's truly inspiring. I've never wanted to own a ghost town so much in my life.
Best show on TH-cam. Really look forward to these episodes! Finally Levis too
Awesome. Keep up the good work. Your ghost town is on my bucket list, from an Englishman living in India x
I want to see y’all go all the way bro! I know it’s a long way down (and BACK UP!!!) but that’s what makes it so cool.
Bomb squad :"the dynamite can be so sensitive, that you can walking 5m away to explode it"
Tim : throw dynamite " Want the bag?"
“Well, that just happened “ Lol
Yeah that was absolutely obnoxious.. he arbitrarily took it upon himself to do that without getting the say so from Brent.. ridiculous.. risk your own life maybe.. not someone else's .
@Iron *Fe* What? how is that when he just dumps the bag in front of Brent and Brent is hesitant.. I mean come on now..
@@icantthinkofaname5986 or it was edited to look this way. Obviously Tim is trusted, otherwise he wouldn’t be down there. He clearly does know what he is doing
@@EFIMira hi Tim 👋
I hold my breath every time you go down a mine but your passion and enthusiasm keeps it real. Good find on the Levi’s. Shame you didn’t get to go deeper but there’s plenty of time. Look forward to the next one and to see how the jeans ‘pan’ out. Pun not intended. Dorset, UK
Keep caring for her, and she will care for you.
It's good to see you are doing the place and the past a wonderful favor
Yess I’ve been waiting for you to find these pants since day 1!!! Congrats
I love Brents happy attitude about not finding the Jefferson chimney on his first or second attempts. I love how he never gives up even thought it seems like there’s no other way.
Wow, what you do is just awesome for all of our history !! You took on an entire town and mine...its just mind blowing !! Thank You for sharing everything you are doing....there should be an award for this..
Congrats Brent on reaching another milestone called Levi's. How totally amazing is that!!!
I saw the title and was like 'Yay, hooooray - finally!!!!' Congratulations, Brent - a dream fulfilled. I hope that they dry out well 👖🌵💗
26:51 "to fuel this wild goose chase"
and here you are, chasing goose graffiti around an old mine. congrats on the find Brent!
“I don’t want to get too excited...” and two seconds later Brent gets VERY EXCITED! 😂 I’m so pumped for you!!!
JEEEEAAANNSSS! I've been waiting over a year for this! Brent, I know you've been waiting a lot longer! Great find and can't wait to see more of the 400 level. Congrats, Sir! Next; A full pair (or 501 :) )
Greetings from Sweden!
I've been watching all of your videos and this is an amazing project.
I wish I was closer, I would love to help you out rebuilding everything.
As I have some experience with alpacas, remember to spend time with them and they will love you forever. I used to work with some and whenever I get back to the farm they will notice my voice even if there are many other people there. They are very social.
Hi Brent I would love to congratulate on your chanel I have been a subscriber to this from the start and have just been watching this from the start again and it's fantastic all the best from the UK
Regards Paul
So good hearing an Australian accent…great teamwork
Love the history of jeans. Carl's Department Store in Muncie was like a Levi's museum. Built right after his discharge from the Korean War. His stash was worth millions to certain collectors.
Excite! Brent i just flew back to San Diego today from visiting with my family. I couldnt help to think about Cerro Gordo as I passed over the mountains! Stay blessed
I love the smile that exploring puts on your face. I have never been hooked on a youtube channel until yours,(except mine of course). DON'T STOP AND DON'T LET ANYONE GET IN YOUR WAY, JUST KEEP BRINGING CERRO GORDO TO US FOREVER!!!!!!!!!
18:53 this shows that even though the people that roamed these mines at one point have had a shadow cast making everything seem so sad and deathly, that people still had humor and we’re still PEOPLE at the end of the day!
Great to see the smile back on your face Brent....would have loved to see the look on your face as Tim emptied the bag. Classic Aussie.
How did I miss not knowing that Tim has an Aussie accent?!!! Such an amazing video Brent! Thanks for sharing! Sending much love and positive vibes from Montana. ✨💖✨
Congratulations! So exciting to see you find what you were looking for. You've got to find that complete pair sooner or later. Glad you snagged that sign. Now you need to find somewhere quirky to put it like pointing down the hole of an outhouse.😁🤪
They may not be perfect, but the good lord finally answered this mans prayers and gave him some miners jeans. There was a comment about this on the gold play button video at 900 level, and I'm so glad this man finally got his Levi's lol awesome video as usual, Brent
Next up, a perfect pair haha!
@@GhostTownLiving absolutely, brother! I feel like some of the areas furthest from the shaft could have interesting finds. I could be wrong, but nonetheless its still so cool seeing these mines, and knowing that's the first time in decades someone's stepped foot in there.
Also, have you ever been worried about the air quality and oxygen down in some of the harder to access spots? I've always heard stories of "dead air" pockets in mines but I've never gotten the chance to ask a miner how it really is.
@@GhostTownLiving 1.21M subscribers are cheering for you Brent. Congratulations, Sir.
The 400 level of this silver mine is shaping up to be a gold mine!!!!
Brent I can tell your emotional side pops out..i cried feeling your excitement finding those levis. Even though they aren't in perfect shape, it's the excitement you found levis!! Still more to explore and the explore to more exciting areas and great finds! Levis in that mine, Brent is coming for ya!! Stay safe!
