To anyone making this helmet (mostly for fellow newbies): watch the scale% when you go to print the templates. Some printers will randomly switch it up between pages and you'll end up remaking near finished parts. If everything is scaled right though, this helmet is excellent! Very gratifying build.
That's correct Joseph! But I explain that in the text folder named "READ ME" that you download with the templates already. The idea is to set your printer to print them all at the same scale, mine being 100% of course. If you do that you're sure to print them the right way 😉 and if you don't indeed your printer will probably fit the pieces to the page, which messes up the scale.
Presentation, product..I'm glad I got here when I did. This channel is amazing. Cardboard is a terrible byproduct, this man turns it into something memorable.
I just purchased the template and I'm almost finished completing this project! My daughter (9) wanted to be the Mandalorian for halloween this year, but the helmets are so expensive! She really wanted a helmet and not a half mask (she is a huge fan) so I decided to try this! It's seriously impressive!!! This tutorial is AMAZING, I'm blown away by the creativity of the creator!! Thank you for making this an affordable design and for sharing the step-by-step (I've paused and replayed about a million times now!!) :) I am so happy with how it's turning out and my 9 year old is SO so happy to have such a cool, homemade costume! The challenge here is making it using cardboard and paper... and to be honest trying to make a perfect replica using bondo and paint is a little bit a nonsense with cardboard as it would be 3 time faster to simply work with another material like foam, plastic or even wood, and for a way better end result too... 😉
Man I really love how much detailed is your work. It looks like it is made out of cardboard but in this very best way! Of course that one could give it a paintjob and then it would look like the real helmet but this is all about the cardboard look. Srsly the best cardboard stuff making chanel on YT. But just imagine all this things made out of graphene paper... I hope this dream would come alive one day (I also make things out of cardboard). As the first video I saw on this channel....This is absolutely awesome, I love it a lot. I just stumbled on this video in my recommended section, and it's really awesome how the cardboard helmet looks really nice, and even the style of it is an exact replica of the helmet but out of cardboard and if I might add, this is by far the most accurate cardboard mando helmet i've seen since some that I looked up on the internet tend to be a bit off, or just an old boba fett helmet that's been modified. This is really awesome, thank you for the great templates. Since its made a bit big to use as a mask do you think the templates could work if printed 5 -10% smaller for a smaller head? Thank you.
No problems Stephanie D, to do so you have to do what I explain in the text folder named "READ IT" that you downloaded with the templates. Basically you just have to divide the circumference of your head (above the eyes) by mine which is 23 inches, that's gonna give you a decimal number like 0,86 for instance, and that is the percentage you have to print the templates out from your computer to make it a perfect fit for your head, in this case you would have to print them out at 86% of the original size 😉
This looks awesome I'm definitely gonna do this, got a question though, what do you think about covering the whole helmet in plaster, than painting it? Is it to unnecessary?
Awesome! To be honest I don't know, I've never tried that. It might work if you know what you're doing with plaster I guess, but it's not my case lol. If you try that don't hesitate to keep me updated on the project! I'd love to see how it turns out.
@@EpicCardboardProps Update: I did the whole helmet it came out good but the top was really rough so I sanded it and covered the entire outside of the helmet in plaster and it came out amazing. I sanded and filed it, it came out super smooth and very strong and durable. At the end great results!
@@Maayrakk Well that's the thing, this channel is all about cardboard and paper, using plaster would be too far away from this topic, but I decided to break this rule a little for my next helmet as I'm gonna use a modeling past to smooth everything out ;)

@@eduardonu3433 it depends a little bit on the glue you're using and the type of pattern but it probably won't work good as usually glue doesn't stick to the pattern. But if you find difficult to remove it with your fingers, you can also sand it over using sand paper. It works quite efficiently to remove it.

Waouuuu! Au début j'étais septique. Je me suis dit pourquoi tout ce process alors qu'une imprimante 3D fait le JOB en 10 mn (avec le plan 3D qui à nécessité beaucoup de travail ! )
