You don't keep the law to be saved. You keep the law because you are saved.

    • @donpetty7584

I agree. There is a huge difference in motivation between the two statements.
To keep the law to be saved then you aren't acceptable to God or righteous before God unless you earn that right by keeping the law. This is of the flesh. You place God in your debt by keeping the law. You are conditionally accepted by God, depending on how well you have kept the law. Such thinking leads people into all sorts of disfunction including addictions.
But faith in Christ is what redeems us. Repentance and Faith in His crucifixion and resurrection. Then we receive the Holy Spirit. Then we are righteous. Then we behave as a child of God and follow Jesus, observing his commandments. We obey out of gratitude and belief we are totally acceptable to God because of Christ's work, not our own works. It is an unconditional acceptance by a loving heavenly Father. Such thinking produces healthy behavior. it's the same in raising our own earthly children.
Christ emphasized faith in Him, not observance of the law. I said "emphasized". Count how many times he said "believe in me as the Messiah" vs how many times he said to obey the Mosaic law. Faith wins out by far.
"28 Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”
29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”
30 So they asked him, “What sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do? 31 Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written: ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’[c]”
32 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
34 “Sir,” they said, “always give us this bread.”
35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. 36 But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. 37 All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. 38 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. 40 For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”
Read Acts 15, the council at Jerusalem settled this very question, if you must obey, for salvation, the Mosaic law and be circumcised. (guys this will really relieve you :) ) Read it. Know your scripture and your God.
      Acts 15:5-11
"5 Then some of the believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees stood up and said, 'The Gentiles must be circumcised and required to keep the law of Moses.' " [Isn't that what is being taught here on this video?]
"6 The apostles and elders met to consider this question. 7 After much discussion, Peter got up and addressed them: 'Brothers, you know that some time ago God made a choice among you that the Gentiles might hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe. 8 God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us. 9 He did not discriminate between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith. 10 Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear? 11 No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are. ' ”
Declaring Paul as a fraud puts you on dangerous ground by taking away from God's word, IMO.

Hi I am a Christian and I listened to the whole video. God is leading me on the path of truth concerning his Torah, Sabbath and festivals and I just wanted to let you know I was truly edified. God is raising up a generation of Christians who will no longer walk in the deception of our generation but seek after his kingdom and his truth. God bless you.

      AndTheTruth ShallMakeYouFree
‭‭First of all let me enlighten you on the part that Jesus said do not think that i have come to abolish the law or the prophets now the word fulfill its clearly you mistaken it by thinking it's done away with now if you continue reading it say till heaven and earth pass one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law till all be fulfilled.... now is the heaven and earth still here yesss very much so why a you people misinterpreting the words of Jesus himself.
Jesus fulfilled what was spoken of him he was to make a better covenant on sacrifices n offerings he became the high priest as prophesied we no longer have to kill animals for forgiveness he became the ultimate sacrifice but the laws of God still stands untill all a fulfilled and it was clear that the sacrifices n offerings only were perfected cause it was weak on sacrificing all the time you sinned.
Now the confusion comes in with pauls letters and peter warns people that his letters contain some things that are hard to understand which ignorant and unstable people distort as they do to other scriptures to the own destruction (2peter 1:3 ,15,16)
I just wanna touch on main points to clarify more that the love of God is keeping the commandments
If you go to last book on revelation 22:14 it clearly says blessed are they that do his commandments that they may have right to the tree of life.
I wanna take you to a future prophecy and clearly show you that even the sabbath it being part of the commandments is the only holy day of God
      Isaiah (56:2-7 upon blessings)
Isaiah(66:22-23 future prophecy) when God makes the new heaven and earth the new moon and the sabbath will still remain before him.
Paul kept the sabbath Acts 13:42,44 and chapter 17:2
I don't mean that you go to SDA but the sabbath must be kept and the laws stand let no man read the Bible out of context may you seek the truth and it shall set you free remember Sunday was brought by constantine the worship of the sun god read the history.
Doing away with the laws then what don't pick and choose scriptures is supposed to be read line upon line here a little and there alittle. Now the below scriptures denys what you people a after breaking Gods laws you read that verse 14 and that's it if you continue reading what does is it say God Forbid. Very clear
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. 15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid
      Romans 6:14-15 | KJV
Another verse you people pick n choose only verse 28 but if you continue reading to verse 31 it strikes out everything.
28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. 29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: 30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. 31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
      Romans 3:28-31 | KJV
      Shalom brother.

Isn't it wonderful when the veil is lifted from your eyes? You see Yahweh's Festivals as the fulfillment of prophecy that was fulfilled and is yet to be. The joy of knowing that the law is NOT burdensome. It is a blessing, as Yahweh promised! His words to those who love Him is comforting, assuring, and truth. The Shabbat is looked forward to with gladness. That He teaches you, through His law (Torah) how to worship Him and that doing so, with gladness, shows Him you really do love Him. Only Yeshua kept the Torah perfectly. He knows if we try and want with all our hearts to keep it, and never give up. We should be humbled before Him always, knowing we cannot be perfect and righteous in this life. Yet, seek his forgiveness when you step to the left or to the right. Praise Him for all that He does for you and for His mercy. Walk the walk that one day will be fulfilled when He says ... Well, done. And you receive the crown of everlasting life and righteousness that we cannot obtain in this fleshly body.... Praise Yahweh! Keep that in sight no matter what.

+ Jennifer Cooper I prepare all the food on Friday and on Saturday I just have a rest. I am hitting up the food because I have electric cooker and I don't think it qualifies for lighting a fire. I let Holy Spirit to lead me through Torah. Because Shabbat is for man not man for Shabbat :-)

    • @Olsby31
      @Olsby31 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Actually the not lighting a fire command was a ritual, so Yahweh is telling us not to do other rituals as the shabbath is a day of rest, so e.g light a fire in the oven to keep warm (if you live in a cold country) is not what is intended with this command.
"propergunjah" also has a point with using electricity, however, many believers do as the jews and prepare the meals on thursday so that they can just heat them before shabbath and get a day of rest instead of stress.

Buckeye Bike if righteousness came by the law, Christ died in vain. Christ is our saboth. Israel stopped believing in the saboth and brought the lame for a sin offering. Christ said, "Abraham knew my day and was glad."
Dying in your sin means that you do not believe in His sacrifice for sin, therefore your going to pay the price instead of believing he paid the price.
We can't keep the law, period! Christ fulfilled the law. The law is still in full force.

Why are you calling people names? The fact that you have people trying to explain the new covenant to you and you simply attack shows you lack humility and love for truth. With out humility the scriptures will remain secret to you and as long as you don't love truth God will not reveal truth to you. Jesus purposely worked on Saturday to show that they had the sabbath all wrong. With Christ our standards are higher than what Moses brought trough the law. One day Holy with Moses while with Christ every day is a sabbath. I don't understand why it doesn't make sense to you brother. Stop being hard hearted and pray about it, God Himself will reveal this to you. Don't take my word but seek the scriptures like the bereans and if you love truth God will show your. Cheers brothers I'm done replying here

All of my Christian friends think that The Messiah has given them "grace" to no longer live with our Father's Instructions. They think that following the Roman worship day is their "Sabbath". When I try to show them that we must keep His Instructions, and tell them that I keep Sabbath; they dirft away from me and stop being my friend.

If your "Christian" friends are American that would explain a lot for Americans are not satisfied with just one Heavenly Father! No! They have dozens of founding Fathers! No wonder America is cursed! The Sabbath follows the lunar-solar calendar of God ... The Sun the greater light the moon the lesser light ...The month begins on the New Moon. The Weekly Sabbaths follow the illuminations of teh moon ergo work 6 rest 7th add the new moon and you come to the 8th day of the new month being the 1st weekly sabbath ... then the 8th then 22nd then 29 ... that is how the Israelites worked for 7 days at Jericho ...

    Matthew 5:17-20
    The Fulfillment of the Law
17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

You have a very narrow view of the Scriptures. You've neglected the majority of Romans and Galatians, along with Philippians 3 and 2 Corinthians 3. Fulfillment of the Law has been replaced by being led by the Spirit.
.Romans 10:4 "Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness to everyone who believes."
Galatians 5:6 "For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love."

Thehealthwatchman Oh. So, when was the last time you sacrificed in the Temple? James 2:10 affirms the unity of the Law. I understand that there are different meanings for the term νομος. And I've studied all passages in the NT concerning the Law. It can refer to "a power at work", "inherent sense of morality", "civil law", or the Mosaic Law. However, when referring to the Mosaic law, the NT authors are pretty clear that the Law was intended to point people to Christ by revealing their inability to keep the Law (aka sin). The Mosaic Law was to be replaced by the Spirit, in something known as the New Covenant. Galatians 3 rips your argument apart. There, it is clearly talking about the Mosaic Law. In Romans, Paul is also very clear that the Law cannot justify and it cannot sanctify. Then, he demonstrates that the righteous requirements of the Law are fulfilled in those who walk by the Spirit.
The only problem with your position is that the Bible disagrees with you.

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom
of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many
will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your

+Jen M The New Covenant of the Messiah:
Jer 31:31 (31:30) "Here, the days are coming," says Adonai, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Isra'el and with the house of Y'hudah.
(The day will come when God will make a New Covenant with the House of Israel and the House of Judah.)
Jer 31:32 (31:31) It will not be like the covenant I made with their fathers on the day I took them by their hand and brought them out of the land of Egypt; because they, for their part, violated my covenant, even though I, for my part, was a husband to them," says Adonai.
(The New Covenant will not be like the Old Covenant.)
Jer 31:33 (31:32) "For this is the covenant I will make with the house of Isra'el after those days," says Adonai: "I will put my Torah within them and write it on their hearts; I will be their God, and they will be my people.
Jer 31:34 (31:33) No longer will any of them teach his fellow community member or his brother, 'Know Adonai'; for all will know me, from the least of them to the greatest; because I will forgive their wickednesses and remember their sins no more."
      Fulfillment of the New Covenant:
Heb 8:6 But now the work Yeshua has been given to do is far superior to theirs, just as the covenant he mediates is better. For this covenant has been given as Torah on the basis of better promises.
(The New Covenant of Yeshua is superior to the Mosaic Covenant.)
Heb 8:7 Indeed, if the first covenant had not given ground for faultfinding, there would have been no need for a second one.
(If the Old Covenant had been prefect there would not have been a need for the New Covenant.)
Heb 8:8 For God does find fault with the people when he says, " 'See! The days are coming,' says Adonai, 'when I will establish over the house of Isra'el and over the house of Y'hudah a new covenant.
(The New Covenant was made with the House of Israel and Judah.)
Heb 8:9 " 'It will not be like the covenant which I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by their hand and led them forth out of the land of Egypt; because they, for their part, did not remain faithful to my covenant; so I, for my part, stopped concerning myself with them,' says Adonai.
(The New Covenant is not like the Old Covenant and because Israel broke the Mosaic Covenant, God no longer considers them under it.)
Heb 8:10 " 'For this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Isra'el after those days,' says Adonai: 'I will put my Torah in their minds and write it on their hearts; I will be their God, and they will be my people.
(He writes his law inside of us through His Holy Spirit.)
Heb 8:11 " 'None of them will teach his fellow-citizen or his brother, saying, "Know Adonai!" For all will know me, from the least of them to the greatest,
Heb 8:12 because I will be merciful toward their wickednesses and remember their sins no more.' "
Heb 8:13 By using the term, "new," he has made the first covenant "old"; and something being made old, something in the process of aging, is on its way to vanishing altogether.
(The Old Covenant has become obsolete.)

      Foods, Feast Days and Sabbath:
Col 2:16 So don't let anyone pass judgment on you in connection with eating and drinking, or in regard to a Jewish festival or Rosh-Hodesh or Shabbat.
Col 2:17 These are a shadow of things that are coming, but the body is of the Messiah.
(No one is to judge you in foods, or feast days, or Sabbaths.)

      Circumcision:
Rom_2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
Rom_2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
Gal_6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

The New Commandment of the Messiah:
Joh_13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
(This is a new commandment from Christ, and is not of the Old Covenant.)

Joh_15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
(There are two different types of commandments given here. There are the commandments of Yeshua, which we are to keep and there are those of the Mosaic Covenant, which only Yeshua was able to keep for us.)

Cast out the Old Covenant of Slavery:
Gal 4:23 The one by the slave woman was born according to the limited capabilities of human beings, but the one by the free woman was born through the miracle-working power of God fulfilling his promise.
(Paul is using the examples of Hagar and Sarah to compare the Old Covenant to the New.)
Gal 4:24 Now, to make a midrash on these things: the two women are two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai and bears children for slavery - this is Hagar.
(Here Paul is comparing the Old Covenant to the slave woman, Hagar.)
Gal 4:25 Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia; she corresponds to the present Yerushalayim, for she serves as a slave along with her children.
(Hagar represents the covenant given at Sinai. Mt. Sinai is in Arabia.)
      Gal 4:26 But the Yerushalayim above is free, and she is our mother;
(We are children of the New Jerusalem, which is now above.)
Gal 4:27 for the Tanakh says, "Rejoice, you barren woman who does not bear children! Break forth and shout, you who are not in labor! For the deserted wife will have more children than the one whose husband is with her!"
Gal 4:28 You, brothers, like Yitz'chak, are children referred to in a promise of God.
(We are children of the Gal. 3:16 promise.)
Gal 4:29 But just as then the one born according to limited human capability persecuted the one born through the Spirit's supernatural power, so it is now.
(When Paul wrote this letter the Judaisers were persecuting the Gentile believers.)
Gal 4:30 Nevertheless, what does the Tanakh say? "Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for by no means will the son of the slave woman inherit along with the son of the free woman!"
(Paul says we are to cast out the bondwoman, which is the Old Covenant.)
Gal 4:31 So, brothers, we are children not of the slave woman, but of the free woman.
(We are children of the free woman.)
Gal 5:1 What the Messiah has freed us for is freedom! Therefore, stand firm, and don't let yourselves be tied up again to a yoke of slavery.
(Do not let the Old Covenant become a yoke of slavery upon you.)
Gal 5:2 Mark my words - I, Sha'ul, tell you that if you undergo b'rit-milah the Messiah will be of no advantage to you at all!
(Circumcision is no advantage to those in the Messiah.)
Gal 5:3 Again, I warn you: any man who undergoes b'rit-milah is obligated to observe the entire Torah!
(Those who undergo circumcision are obligated to keep the entire Torah, which no one but Christ has been able to do.)
Gal 5:4 You who are trying to be declared righteous by God through legalism have severed yourselves from the Messiah! You have fallen away from God's grace!
(Those attempting to become righteous through keeping the Torah, have fallen from the Grace of the Messiah.)

The Torah served as a Custodian:
Gal 3:23 Now before the time for this trusting faithfulness came, we were imprisoned in subjection to the system which results from perverting the Torah into legalism, kept under guard until this yet-to-come trusting faithfulness would be revealed.
Gal 3:24 Accordingly, the Torah functioned as a custodian until the Messiah came, so that we might be declared righteous on the ground of trusting and being faithful.
(The Torah functioned as a custodian until the Messiah came.)
Gal 3:25 But now that the time for this trusting faithfulness has come, we are no longer under a custodian.
(We are no longer under the Torah as our custodian, if we have the Holy Ghost inside of us.)

I am not amazed, Yahshua clearly said,
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
He wasn't speaking of the difference between believers and non believer, he was speaking of people within the faith. Think about the number of people who embrace messiah and those who embrace christianity. The numbers between the two are staggering.
Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

    • @GenevaPilgrim
      @GenevaPilgrim 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Let's just get down to brass tacks...Law is torah, torah means instructions. Torah is not JUST the Sinai covenant, it is the ENTIRE first five books of the Bible as well-even the stories about people who lived before the Sinai experience. Adam, Noah, Abraham, Enoch, Cain, etc-all part of torah, all were born before the covenant at Mt Sinai was given...
Even this guy (not Lex, the other guy) points out that "torah" (law) means instructions. You know this.
Did Jesus and the apostles give instructions? yes they did. Were they the same as the Torah (the Old Testament)? Yes because let's take the food laws for example....
Leviticus 15:31 tells us exactly who keeps food laws and why. Not the nations around, and not people without a temple of God in their midst. animals that were called "unclean" he says "these will be an abomination TO YOU". Not to anyone else. Why? Because Leviticus 11-15 which include ALL of the purity laws which included, but was not limited to animals, and with the actual reason they were not allowed to eat them is in Leviticus 15:31. You can look it up, but the reason these laws were given were not because these animals would make you sick and not because they were not food for other people and not because some of them are the vacuum cleaners of the earth or don't sweat out their toxins or any of the other nonsense that I and others who were formerly Hebrew Roots use to say, but for one reason:
TO KEEP THE TEMPLE IN THEIR MIDST UNDEFILED. (Leviticus 15:31)
These laws also included women on their monthly cycle and women who recently gave birth and people with open sores like leprosy and anyone who recently had discharge etc. Yet I don't see anyone barring women from entering the congregation or accusing them of being unclean and impure or soon after having a baby telling them they are unclean or anyone stopping women who are on their period from entering the congregation. Are these women unclean in and of themselves? I am going to hope your answer is no. These things were an ILLUSTRATION for a future time that had to do with EXTERNAL REGULATIONS UNTIL THE TIME OF REFORMATION. (see Hebrews 9:10) remember that Hebrews is written to a HEBREW audience. the word "reformation" has been translated from "diorthosis" which means:
      1. Ammendment
      2. Improvement
      3. Reformation
So don't act like it's lawlessness to eat animals that were only considered "set apart" for an age, UNTIL the reformation which is an amendment and improvement to the former time. It's lawlessness to misinterpret the torah itself by not not being aware of what it actually says and accusing others of being lawless when what Paul said straightforward about all creatures being good and acceptable with the word of God and prayer (the word of God being that he KNEW WHY the foods were once not to be eaten, but were now ok due to the reformation and due to Leviticus 15:31) and why Jesus said that nothing a man puts in his body makes him unclean. He meant what he said. The animals themselves are not unclean! They were an abomination to ISRAEL because the temple was in their midst. They were not an abomination before that or after that because Noah could eat all creeping things that creep on the ground and no, remes is not limited to sea creatures and if we want to get technical, the septuagint actually translated remes as "reptiles" and either way, reptiles were also forbidden under the Sinai covenant, but not for Noah.
Jesus gave instructions! The apostles gave instructions! So when Jesus says "you who practice lawlessness" you should read this as: You who do not follow the instructions of God and in case you missed it-the instruction of God was that certain animals were not to be sacrificed or eaten UNTIL the time of reformation BECAUSE the temple was in their midst. SO Jesus and the apostles did NOT teach against torah and yet they taught that man can eat all animals as food.
      Do you understand?
If not, read Leviticus 11-15 paying close attention to the end of Leviticus 15 and verse 31 which tells us WHY all of these purity laws were necessary.
Then read Hebrews 9 paying close attention to Hebrews 9:10.
If you are really torah observant, then understand what the torah says-the TORAH says that all foods/all animals are clean UNLESS you were living in the area of the temple.
I don't know if you realize this, but the tabernacle and temple are gone. And just because Paul said that we are the temple now, does NOT mean that every OT law applies to your body because if that's the case, then how do women even live with themselves being unclean in their own temple after childbirth or during their monthly cycle! They would be a walking abomination!
My gosh. I hate to get riled, but I was Hebrew Roots and I noticed these things myself in the Torah and when I asked about them no one had a good answer, because there is no good answer than the OBVIOUS answer which I just explained.
There are many more answers like this to all of the laws that the New Testament says we don't need to keep, so how do people who claim to and brag that they read the "whole word of God" miss these things?
I don't know. I WAS reading the whole word of God and I noticed them and I got out of Hebrew Roots.

+carla Rodriguez I believe in Him too :-) He wrote the law in my heart. It's written in Jeremiah "I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people". The song of Moses & the song of the Lamb is the very same song, of the very same God, of the very same spiritual law. It's really very simple. Please let me show you how Moses really does agree with the Lamb. The Lamb said "Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled." So let's take a look at the torah/law of Moses that Moses wrote against the rebellious Levite priesthood (and then see how the new testament agrees). Moses tells the Levites-> (Deuteronomy 31:26) Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee. OK... NOW NEW TESTAMENT-> (Hebrews 7:11, 12) If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron? For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law. YES INDEED... MOSES WROTE A LAW WITNESS AGAINST THE OLD PRIESTHOOD & THE LAW "CHANGED" (AS IT IS WRITTEN). But there are false teachers among the people who reject Moses & the Lamb. And some of the false teachers call themselves rabbis. (Matthew 23:8) But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. YUP... THOSE (so called) "rabbis" simply reject the truth for a rabbi status. The fact is... The children of Israel refused to keep that very old law covenant that God made with them. So our Passover Lamb did something out of such great love (that rabbis simply reject to their own destruction). The evidence of a covenant law change is overwhelming. Jeremiah wrote of a new covenant that was not according to the old one (which covenant they broke). And our Passover Lamb/Mediator of the new covenant has already confirmed that new covenant with many. As I say... He wrote it in my heart. OLD TESTAMENT-> (Jeremiah 31:32, 33) Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. NEW TESTAMENT-> (Hebrews 8:6, 7) But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. THE REAL LAMB OF GOD only wants people to do His commandments of love. That's all. (Matthew 22:35-40) Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. :-)

That is another matter, it's one thing to obey the Father's commandments and an entirely different matter to think that the directives found in the Torah actually save our soul. Yahushua is my saving grace, my example "to walked just as He had walked". James said, "show me your faith and I will show you my faith by my works". Read the whole chapter. James said that faith is dead without works. The works don't save but they prove that faith is evident in the follower. As Abraham was justified.

If we have to keep the Law, then why did ALL of the apostles oppose it? Acts 15:24 "Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:"
The 10 commandments is the Old Covenant (Exodus 34:27-28) but Christ is the New Covenant (Isaiah 42:6, Hebrews 7:22) who is a better Covenant than the law (Hebrews 7:12-22). To go back and follow the Old Covenant will cause you to fall from Grace (Galatians 4:21-5:6).

Grace is not for disobeying Torah. But grace given when we try obey Torah and goes wrong, instead of punishment Yah be gracious for ur to learn more. Be Holy as I'm Holy he said. We must pursue this journey Alex.
Israelites SAVED by grace but not all went into promised land. Those who obeyed only made it. Likewise we saved from slavery of sin by grace. But Eternal life, our Promise Land we have to journey towards it by obeying Torah.
Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.
      Revelation 14:12
Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
      Revelation 22:14
We need both Faith in Christ and obedience to Torah. Isralites obey commandments but failed to believe in Messiah and Christians vise versa. Sad..

What will happen to believers who have been lied to about the Torah? Can they still be saved? After all, God is merciful. The belief that Torah is abolished is so ingrained in the minds of mainstream Christians due to leaders in Christianity misinterpreting Scripture to fit that view. So they are entirely unaware and can't believe what us Messianic Jews say. I've been trying to teach my family (my parents, brother and later my extended family) this, but my dad (an Anglican pastor) who I usually spoke to this about is resistant. I worry my conversion to Messianic Judaism with tear a rift in my family and I can't bear the thought of my family being led astray in false doctrine.

I have an experiment I love to do with people who call themselves "Christian" and say they do not have to keep the Commandments....
I go through each one of the Commandments one at a time (leaving the 4th for last) I read it to them and ask if it is OK to have other gods before the one true God?.... They will always say no.... The I ask if it is OK to create an idol to fall down and worship/... Again they will say no.... Can I know take God's Holy naje in vain?.... Again the answer is no..... I do this with all the Commandments (leaving the 4th out of it for the time being) and always they will begin to realize the Commandments have to be kept.... Then I read the 4th Commandment and right away they will say that is the one that is done away.... That we now must keep Sunday.....
That opens up a dialogue to explain when the Sabbath was created and that it was given at creation.... and then go on to explain how it is for everyone and how the Catholics have sought to change it not God, Not Jesus..... I have even had JWs switch their thinking when presented in this fashion.... They cannot get around it.....

@Stock Raising God is always first, and then who is second?,your neighbor, and who is your neighbor?…Luke 10:25-37
      King James Version
25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
      And also
      Matthew 19:16-24
      King James Version
16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

Keeping the Law and having faith by grace you've been saved are different things that many believers confuse. "Think not that I am come to undo the law or the prophets; I am not come to undo, but to fulfill." Mathew 15:7
When you go to another country there are laws you have to keep, but keeping those laws will never make you a citizen of that country. And being a citizen of a country doesn't mean you don't have to keep it's laws otherwise you'll be considered an outlaw always creating chaos.
The purpose of the law is not salvation, and grace & faith doesn't replace the law. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

Do you see that the belief was working with his works, and by the works the belief was perfected? And the Scripture was filled which says, “Aḇraham believed Elohim, and it was reckoned to him for righteousness.” And he was called, “Elohim’s friend.” You see, then, that a man is declared right by works, and not by belief alone. -James 2:22-24.

Brother Jonathan, I partially agree with you, the keeping of the Torah is not hard, it impossible, there ain't one Jew in this world keeping all of the Torah, and if it was, they can move their chair next to Christ and rule with him. The law was meant to be impossible to keep to point out the love of the farther thru his son Jesus, and if u reject the chief cornerstone and live under the law then u will become a slave and the law will be your task master, I prefer to be a slave for Jesus Christ

You can't get through the day without lusting after your neighboir's spouse?.... Wow..... The one people have the problem with is #4 the Sabbath Day when God tells you to rest.... You cannot rest for one day?....

I am reminded of a certain word spoken, "If you love me, you will keep my commandments." Now, atheists in particular would have a fit if Christians on the whole believed that they were still to follow all of the Torah laws, for example, those regarding stoning, but of course, what they don't understand is the TRUE interpretation and understanding of such things, which Yeshua of course knew and communicated to those of us who had been too ignorant in our minds/spirit to truly understand, e.g. "Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone." See, indeed He did not come to _'change'_ the law... but to help us to _truly_ understand it (as well as, in His words, "fulfill" it). So for example, one who picks up a stone to throw it at another, is really in actual fact committing a sin, in _violation_ of God's true law, in that, had the law truly been followed, they would not even be alive still to even be able to pick it up in the first place, because they would surely already have been stoned to death themselves! So they are really hypocrites in that they are just as guilty and therefore just as deserving of the same fate! And even then, you run into the same issue (_WHO_ would have been righteous enough to have done _them_ in?? ha ha, NO ONE!! :D Oh, the beauty of God's undying and eternal wisdom. In truth it is really so much simpler than we tend to even realize much less appreciate, and yet, we still are all too often too simple minded nevertheless to get it on our own. It really is amazing God's wisdom, the more you learn it. It's a continuous process of learning and evolving in God's word and the true understanding of it.

With all due respect to you, I would like to show you that we are no longer to follow the Old covenant law, but the New covenant law of Christ. Since the law has changed (Hebrews 7:12) we are to follow the law of Christ (1 Corinthians 9:20-21, Galatians 6:2) the law of Faith (Romans 3:27-28) and the law of the Spirit, but no longer the Old covenant law of sin and death (Romans 8:2, 2Corinthians 3:6-17). The 10 commandments is the Old Covenant (Exodus 34:27-28) but Christ is the New covenant (Isaiah 42:6) who is a better covenant than the law (Hebrews 7:12-22).
Christ's commandments of the New covenant is to Love as He did (John 13:34) and believe/Faith (John 3:16) which is bearing Fruit of the Spirit (Matthew 7:15-20, Galatians 5:22-23). The only way we can bear Fruit of the Spirit is through Christ, but not without Him (John 15:5). Once we start to bear Fruit we no longer need the Old covenant law because Christ's law of the Spirit brings life, but the Old law can only kill and condemn (2Corinthians 3:6-17). That is why we must now live according to the Fruit of the Spirit rather then the Old law; for if you continue in the Old law it will put you under bondage and cause you to fall from Grace (Galatians 4:21-5:6). The Fruit of the Spirit AKA law of Christ/Faith is only what truly saves and that is why we don't follow the Old law anymore: Galatians 5:22-23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law."
Jeremiah predicted that the law would be written in our hearts, but it is the law of Christ not the Old covenant law; For it is Love, which is the commandment of Christ that will show who are born again (John 13:34-35). The righteous are justified by Faith, but not the works of the law (Romans 3:20-28). Paul and John both give testimony that it is Christ's Commandment of Love that should be in our heart (as Jeremiah predicted) to show we are saved: Romans 5:5 "And hope taketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us."
1 John 4:7-8 "Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love."

It is my understanding that Christ fulfilled the law, and as Christians, we are no longer under its demands. However, faith alone contradicts scripture quite clearly:
"you see then that a man is justified [made righteous] by works, and not by faith only" (Jam 2:24).
No where in scripture does it say that we are justified by faith "alone".
"Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead" (Jam 2:17)
Moreover, St. Paul makes it quite clear when he says, "What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?"

Romaion This is how I see it.
Food for Thought (Revised): by Randall M. Vasquez
Grace is wide in the beginning while we are learning because God knows we are going to make mistakes, but as we start to walk out a redemptive lifestyle the way we are supposed to, it becomes the narrow path.
Grace will always be there as a buffer because we are not perfect and we will fall from time to time, but Grace is not to be intended or perceived as the church is teaching it to be, “Once saved always saved,” “We are living in the age of Grace” and so on.
Once we mature in God and learn how to walk out a redemptive lifestyle within the Law, Grace is supposed to be relied on less and less and not something we are to continually lean on as an excuse or a crutch. That’s like staying an infant all your life.
Once we mature and learn to live the way God wants us to within the Law, that is where real blessings start being bestowed upon our lives. And it’s not really ‘LAW’ at all; it’s actually ‘Teaching and Instruction.’
When we walk out of God’s veil of protection, it’s not God who punishes us. We are punishing ourselves because we are letting our guard down. We are shedding our protective ‘Holy Spirit’ armor and satan comes in. We suffer the consequences of our own disobedience and sin.
Living God’s Law is not hard. I will be the first to tell you IT’S EASY. For the first time in my life I feel and see everything as it should be. . .

This will destroy your Christians doctrine. Sin = Lawlessness.
1 John 3:4 4 Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is
lawlessness. 5 But you know that he appeared so that he might take away
our sins. And in him is no sin. 6 No one who lives in him keeps on
sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.
7 Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does
what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. 8 The one who does
what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from
the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the
devil’s work. 9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because
God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have
been born of God. 10 This is how we know who the children of God are
and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is
    right is not God’s child

RIGHTEOUSNESS is Obedience. They are one in the same; you cannot have RIGHTEOUSNESS without obedience, and there is NO obedience outside of RIGHTEOUSNESS. They are the same.
If you are not, or no longer, following the Law for Righteousness, or an attempt at being Righteous, what are you doing it for? There is no other reason other than for Righteousness to follow the Law. But, as I mentioned before...
"For Christ is the END OF THE LAW for righteousness to every one that believes." - Romans 10:4
If Christ is the END OF THE LAW for RIGHTEOUSNESS (and He is), it is ended for all things, for all reasons, for all time. In other words, it has just plain ENDED.
Following the law for righteousness is over; therefore, the law is OVER. There is NO OTHER REASON FOR THE LAW but for Righteousness.
If it is ended for RIGHTEOUSNESS, is there another reason you follow the law, Christian? What, for UNRIGHTEOUSNESS? For fun? Because by doing so, you think it will make you somehow MORE RIGHTEOUS?
YOU ARE NOT THINKING CLEARLY. You need your mind renewed on God's Word!

Christians don't keep the Torah(Law) because Christians are under Grace. When Jesus Christ went to the cross, He took the Law with Him meaning that since He was perfect and without sin, the Law demanded a sacrifice for sin and Jesus was the sacrificial Lamb who initially came to take the sin away. The Law was given so that we would know what sin is. and since no one could keep the Law perfectly, Jesus came to fulfill the Law by nailing it to the cross. The last 3 words He uttered while on the cross before He died were..I is finished. There is no need to live by the Law but by Grace through Jesus Christ alone.

Praise Yahweh, I am a born again believer in the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and I am a member of the SDA Church. I prayed and asked Yahweh for the truth after listening to the Trinity Broadcast Network and almost everything that they were quoting from the Bible was actually not Bible quotes but misquotes. A few nights later Yahweh showed me His truths. He showed that there are intentional lies being told in the Protestant Church concerning His Divine Law. It is refreshing to see God's anointed Messengers do the will of God and preach His TRUTH. I love what you teach. I am learning from your anointing. My prayer is that before the ROMAN Catholic Church, through the Pope legistrate the NEW LAW commanding all the inhabitants of the Earth to worship the Beast on his appointed day of worship, which will most likely be sun-day, the day that the Luciferians worship the sun-god on; that Elohyim's People will listen to and hear Jesus' voice mentioned in Revelation 18:4 saying, "Come out of her my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins" speaking of coming out of the demon worship system of Spiritual Babylon. Worship today on Yahweh's seventh day or worship to the Beast is the issue in these last days right before Jesus' second coming.

Christ is our Passover (1Corinthians 6:7) and we are not justified by the deeds of the Law (Romans 3:20) and in chapter 4:5, it says "But he that worketh not, but believeth on him that justified the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
and if you are washed in the blood of the Lamb (pries the Lord for that if it be so) then why do you insist that we all follow many of the old laws?
in 1Corinthians 11 it talks about the headcovering (long hair) for woman. then it says in verse 16 "But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God."

this is the most important thing to do. as a born again believer, then there is praying to God, giving him thanks, and glory.
but i'll have you know i'm a man, i do not have a beard. and i can tell you for a curtain. i am NOT a sodomite.
to say a man who has no beard is a sodomite just makes you a fool in that regard.

The Lord is leading me to no longer celebrate the worldly pagan holidays that the Christian and catholic religions observe. Christmas, Easter, new Year's, etc. All of these have wicked pagan influences. The Lord specifically told us to not follow the ways of pagans. That is exactly what Christians are doing by observing those hollidays. The Sabbath is not on Sunday. That was something the Catholic church came up with. God gives us specific feast or Holiday's that we are to observe that are honoring to him.

No, we don't have to keep the law. Which law, by the way? All 613 commandments? Certainly not! Why would ceremonial or civil laws be important for us today??? What we follow is the Moral law, 10 commandments, but not because of justification or salvation. Also, we are not called to keep the Sabbath anymore in the NT. OT law is one of those topics which separate many Christians, for example like gifts of the Spirit, or calvinism vs arminianism, and similar. There are PLENTY of verses in Ephesians 2:15, Romans, Galatians, Hebrews chapters 7-10, 1 Corinthians 9:20-21, 2 Corinthians 3:6-16, Acts 15, James 2:8-13, etc. telling us that we are not under the law. Nor are we, gentiles, called to obey something that even old Jews could. Those who wanna obey the law, have to obey the WHOLE law, which is impossible, and are being cut off from the grace of God found only in Christ Jesus. All the festivals are rules and laws were obsolete and shadow of things pointing to Jesus - Author and Perfecter of our faith, so that through Him we can come boldly to the throne of grace. Both Jesus and apostles summed up the Moral law (10 commandments) into 2, which are to love God and people.
It saddens and frustrates me seeing teachers of the law trying to put a yoke on Christians that no one could carry, which also happened in Acts 15. Those who wanna have the law with all 613 commandments and observe it can say GOOD BYE to Christ.
I am SHOCKED how many people are falling into this trap and wanna follow the law. I met people who are observing OT festivals without any good reason. Jesus is Passover, Jesus is the perfect Lamb, Jesus is the High Priest, Jesus's body is the curtain of the temple which split, Jesus is the truth, the way and the life. By having Jesus and following Him we have SALVATION. His disciples didn't instruct other Jews, even less gentiles, to follow the law. If that would've happened, Jesus came and died in vain.
In order for you to understand the OT law you have to look in through the NT Epistles that Paul wrote, and through Jesus' life. And in order of you to understand Matthew 5:17-19 that every teacher of the law loves to quote, you will have to face it against ALL those verses i put in the beginning - Ephesians 2:15, Romans, Galatians, Hebrews chapters 7-10, 1 Corinthians 9:20-21, 2 Corinthians 3:6-16, Acts 15, James 2:8-13, and THEN get the message!
You still wanna follow anything else besides the Moral law which God engraved on our hearts in the New covenant? Ok, good luck, but you won't be pleasing God by that because "IT IS FINISHED" and you certainly won't be granted salvation based on that, because "Jesus is THE END of the law for everyone who believes."
    Amen, amen, and amen.

In the Old Testament Israelites freely saved by Yahovah’s grace. He delivered them from their house of bondage in Egypt. They were promised to inherit the Canaan. But, once they stepped out of their slavery, they were not in the Canaan immediately!! The redemption was FREE but they have to journey through wilderness in order to enter into promised land! Likewise, once we saved from our slavery to sin (by grace of course), we are still have to run the race toward our Promised Land which is our eternal life. We have to pursue it!
The law followed God’s gracious saving act of Israelites. Israel was meant to show their gratitude for God’s deliverance by obeying him and keeping his commands. This did not to save them - they were ALREADY saved!
In the same way today, we are ALREADY saved by believing what Christ has done on our behalf at calvary. We cannot save ourselves. We are saved through grace. No one can earn the salvation by action or work of the law. Salvation is a gift by God to us.
But once saved, we gratefully seek to do His will to please him. This is why I am obeying the law. The Scriptures everywhere speak about these truth. Love and obedience goes together

  • @Randquez
    @Randquez 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

This is very fundamental to say the least. If I may add to it, this is how I see it.
For the first time in my life I feel and see everything as it should be. . .

The previous verse is about circumcision , so it should help us figure out the rest of Galatians. For example, Galatians 5:18 says this, "But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law." This is NOT in any way talking about the law of Moses, this is talking about the law of Sin. If you find a verse you don't understand, read the whole chapter in context, don't always take someone's word for it. He did not come abolish, but to fulfill. But, the word fulfill means _to bring to completion that which was promised_.
Many quote Matthew 5:18 to say that the law is still in effect, but they fail to read on.
_17 “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. 18 For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law _*_until all is accomplished_*_._
What does this "all is accomplished" mean? I would argue that it had to do the redemption of mankind and Jesus fulfilling His mission on earth.
_Luke __18:31__ Then He took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all things which are written through the prophets about the Son of Man will be accomplished._

Reasons Why Jesus Christ Has Become Our Sabbath Rest
The Sabbath was a command given specifically to Israel.
There is no biblical record whatsoever of anybody keeping the Sabbath prior to Exodus 16 (Neh. 9:13-14). Even after they received the full-blown Sabbath command (Ex. 20:8-11), Israel who often condemned the sins of her pagan neighbors, never criticized their violation of the Sabbath.
The Sabbath was part of God’s ceremonial law and not grounded in His unchanging character.
The Sabbath was a ceremonial law given specifically to Israel, not grounded in God’s unchanging nature. Similar to the entire old covenant, it has been fulfilled and brought to completion in Christ (Mt. 5:17). If David had a right to make an exception in the ceremonial law, Jesus had more (Mt. 12:1-8; c.f 5:21-48). Even Jesus said," The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath" (Mk. 2:27). Moreover, He called Himself the "Lord of the Sabbath" (Lk. 6:5).
The Sabbath was the sign of the Old Covenant
(Ex. 31:16-17; Neh. 9:14; Eze. 20:12). Because we are now under the New Covenant we are no longer under obligation to keep the Old Covenant, particularly the sign of the Old Covenant. The writer to the Hebrews remarked, "When He said, ‘A new covenant,’ He has made the first obsolete. But whatever is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to disappear" (Heb. 8:13).
The New Testament nowhere commands Christians to observe the Sabbath.
The church is warned of many sins in the New Testament, but breaking (or observing) the Sabbath is never mentioned. The book of Acts mentions the Sabbath nine times, never once as a day of worship for Christians. If anything, the Apostle Paul rebuked the Galatians for attempting to add the observance of days to the sufficiency of Christ’s work for salvation (Gal. 4:9-11). The church even changed their day of worship from Saturday (the Jewish Sabbath) to Sunday (the Lord’s Day) (Ac. 20:7; 1 Cor. 16:2) to show that a new order had been erected with the resurrection of Christ (Jn. 20:1, 19).
Jesus Christ through His redemptive work regained the Sabbath that Adam lost.
Jesus Christ came to complete a redemptive work (Jn. 4:34; 5:36) by restoring the rest that was forfeited in the Garden. In following the same pattern for the first creation, Jesus Christ began the work spoken of in Genesis 3:15 (c.f. Gen. 1:3). He completed the work on the cross (Jn. 17:4; 19:30; c.f. Gen. 1:5). The work was met with God’s satisfaction by the resurrection and ascension of Christ (Rom. 1:3-4; Gen. 1:4) leading again to divine rest (Heb. 10:11-12; c.f. Gen. 2:1-3).
The Sabbath was a sign that pointed to something greater.
Like much of the Old Testament, the Sabbath pointed to Jesus Christ. The Old Testament Sabbath preached the gospel when it called for faith and a cessation of work (Rom. 4:4-5). We dishonor our Savior when the signs still receive the preeminence that He alone deserves. Now that Jesus is here, the signs have become obsolete (Heb. 8:13). The Apostle Paul said, "Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day--things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ" (Col. 2:16-17). Jesus is the new Joshua that leads God’s children to a greater Promised Land of rest (Mt. 1:21). Jesus is the new Sabbatical Jubilee (Lev. 25:8-10) that provides a greater cancellation of debts (Lk. 4:18-19).
Jesus Christ has now become the Sabbath rest for Christians under the New Covenant.
God has completed His work of the new creation. Christians are the first fruits of that creation (2 Cor.. 5:17; Gal. 6:15). Our rest, as it was enjoyed by Adam everyday, has again been restored. During this life we still deal with some remnants of the curse, but we recognize our rest in Christ (from meritorious works) through faith and daily worship (Col. 3:17). Due to His redemptive work, He has become our Sabbath rest. Jesus said, "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light" (Mt. 11:28-30; c.f. Heb. 4:1-11).
The Christian’s ultimate Sabbath rest will be enjoyed in heaven
(Rev. 14:13; c.f. 14:11). Though we currently rest in Jesus Christ under the New Covenant, our supreme Sabbatical rest will be realized in heaven where we will enjoy the ultimate rest in the culmination of God’s new creation (Rev. 21:4; 22:1-2) away from the curse in the direct presence of the Lamb (Rev. 22:3).

The Mosaic covenant was NOT a smorgasbord. Unless you observe the ENTIRE thing without fail, you've broken it ALL! "For as many as are of the works of the law aARE UNDER THE CURSE: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not IN ALL THINGS which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that NO MAN is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident:" (Gal. 3:10-11) But what if you really wanted, with all of your heart and mind-just for the sake of argument-to keep the Law (be “Torah observant”)? Well, it is simply impossible. There is no priesthood, no temple, and no sacrificial system-all of which comprise the heart and essence of the Law (the commandments are all associated with it). So, there really is no such thing as “Torah observant”, as most of the 613 commandments are impossible to keep even if we wanted to try. Those that are left, are usually being cherry picked from, ignoring most of them and ending up with only a few.
If somebody is telling you he is Torah observant, try to randomly pick a few commandments and see if he really observes them or not, for example, you may ask them:
    - Do you keep your diet 100% animal fat free, as in accordance with Leviticus 3:17 ?
    - Do you stone your children if they curse you, as in accordance with Leviticus 20:9 ?
    - Do you never shave your facial hair, as in accordance with Leviticus 19:27 ?
    - Do you support the killing of gays and lesbians, as in accordance with Leviticus 20:13 ?
    - During the Shabbat, do you not drive or BBQ? (and if you lived before the nineteenth century, will you not turn on lights nor start the heating in the winter if you are cold?), as in accordance with Exodus 35:3 ?
    - Do you always wear only one kind of fabric on your body so not to mix between linen and wool, as in accordance with Deuteronomy 22:11 ?
    - Do you never buy fruit in the supermarket as their producers do not wait until the 5th year to start selling them? (not to mention the fact that the majority of today’s supermarket food products includes corn or soy), as in accordance with Leviticus 19:23-25?
These are only 7 examples of the hundreds of Sinai commandmends, and remember, if in Yeshua we are still under the authority of the Sinai covenant, we can’t just keep some commandments, we must keep them all: “For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable for all of it.” (James 2:10)
If you really believe the New Covenant is just a rehash or renewing of the Old Covenant, then you've missed a very important revelation God gave Jeremiah concerning the New Covenant- "
“The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will make a NEW COVENANT with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah.
IT WILL NOT BE LIKE THE COVENANT I MADE WITH THEIR ANCESTORS..." Two radically different covenants, one that "KILLS" (Sinai) and one that "GIVES LIFE!" ("The Spirit of life in Messiah Yeshua")

great video! Grace is not a new concept it was around since Abraham..Yeshua, Jesus kept His Fathers commandments and His feast days and dietary laws if we claim to follow Yeshua, Jesus we need to walk as He walked 1 John 2:6 ..The Father put two paths in front of us,Deuteronomy 30:15, before I knew Yeshua and understood that I was condemned to eternal seperation from the Father because I had broke His law Romans 7:7, I was walking on the path of curses and death now Yeshua took my punishment and paid the wages of sin which = death now I must walk on the other path which is walking in blessings and having life! This is the Fathers way we must repent and turn from our sin and walk in His ways! Not the ways of the world..Shalom!

I am a gentile, Acts 15 places no other burden. The old covenants are done, over, Israel was removed from the earth in 70ad. Read Galatians 5: one word sums up all the law. The temple was destroyed, The ark had been gone along with God many years before. the priesthood reduced to all are a priest with one high priest. You lose grace when you teach old covenant rules, rituals, etc for salvation. You teach that Jesus is not enough if you teach torah. IMHO.

Acts 21:17-26 If I'm in error, I encourage you correct me as a brother in the faith. However, please ensure that you provide the scriptures as well. Thank you and Shalom!

Please consider that Christ lived under the law and therefore was subject to the law. Upon His death on the cross, He took the sin of the world upon himself, thus fulfilling the penalty of sin on our behalf. In doing so, He conquered death, and nailed the written requirements (the law) to the cross.
    Read Colossians 2:13-17

What proves one's faith in Messiah? Faith is dead without works, if we fail to obey the Fathers teachings (which Yahushua taught) then we lie when we say we are in Him and we love Him. Yahushua plainly states that those who say they love Him yet do not do the commands of the Father are liars and there is no truth in them. This is SCRIPTURE, it is clearly understandable and written down for anyone to read. If you accepted the new man then you would be obeying His Torah!

  • @Greyswyndir
    @Greyswyndir 11 ปีที่แล้ว

You took that last bit out of the proper context. Yahushua was speaking only about the putting away of a woman (divorce). He was not saying that the Torah was given because of the hardness of their hearts, only the writ of divorce. And that is what I mean by twisting scripture and taking a single text out of context and applying it to everything instead of what it was meant to clarify, which was the immediate context of the discussion.

The fulfillment of the law in Christ ENDS the law. "For Christ is the END OF THE LAW for righteousness to every one that believes." - Romans 10:4 Guess what? I believe, so that ENDS the Law for me. Free from the law in Christ!

This made so much sense! I had never thought about it this way. Now I understand the difference between the Pharisees and the fact that Jesus seemed to "up" the law to an even more intense degree...we are to fulfill both the letter and the spirit. Thank you!

Remember that Jesus taught us that love fulfills the whole law, and if we are to live under the law why aren't we performing animal sacrifice for the covering of sin like the law said? If you are a doer of the law be a doer of the WHOLE law, but in Jesus I am free, not bound.

    • @bibleguy9857
      @bibleguy9857 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Paul CONDONED animal sacrifices! (Ac. 21)
Paul did this to prove he obeyed Torah (Ac.21). YOU should likewise imitate Paul (1Cor.11:1;Php.4:9) and condoned sacrifices (when possible to do them properly, as Paul condoned).
Likewise, THOUSANDS of Christians were zealous for ALL Torah (including sacrifices, Ac. 21).
In fact, some Christians were animal-sacrificing priests! (Ac.6:7).
Jesus requires sacrifices (applying Is.56:7 to people from all nations) in Mk.11:17.
Again, Jesus requires ALL Torah (Mt.5:19) for all disciples of all nations (Mt.28:19-20).
Love FULFILLS (not replaces!) the law. That's why Jesus applies Dt. 6 to you (Mt.22:37); and Dt. 6:25 requires ALL Torah.
"why aren't we performing animal sacrifice for the covering of sin like the law said?"
Because we are still in the diaspora. Moses said we can't again obey 100% of Torah until AFTER we return to inherit the land promised to us (Dt.30:1-8).
"If you are a doer of the law be a doer of the WHOLE law"
Wrong...Moses said you can't obey 100% again until AFTER you return to inherit the promised land (Dt.30:1-8).
" in Jesus I am free, not bound."
Free to sin? Nope! (Rom.6:15;1Cor.15:34). Free to OBEY EVEN THE LEAST (Mt.5:19) of Torah commands...and then LIVE by the obedience! (Mt.4:4).
Paul agrees, applying Dt. 30 to YOU (Rom.10:8).
Again, Paul applies ALL Torah to you (2Ti.3:16;1Cor.7:19).
      John agrees (1Jn.5:3).
