- Sweden's King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia awarded knighthoods to members of the pop group ABBA. All four members of the famous Swedish musical group ABBA were awarded Sweden's highest civilian honor, the Order of the Vasa. This is the first time such a high order has been awarded in almost 50 years. The group broke up in 1982 but reunited to record the album Voyage, released in 2021.
