Very interesting and informative. I have an HO scale Bachmann K4 that I purchased a little over 10 years ago, and while it runs fune for the most part, I noticed it occasionally runs into issues when entering a #4 turnout (i.e. lead trucks derailing, tender coming off the track). I've only noticed these issues since converting my layout to DCC, and was wondering if you had any tips/suggestions.
Great Comparison, But may want to look into to seeing if the BLI and MTH models have a traction tire wheelset made for them, that you swap out for more pulling power up that 3-4% incline. I know certain BLI Paragon 1(QSI) models came with both types of wheelsets.
At 3:27 in the video you can see 2 stickers on the bottom of the model one is on the tender and one is on the engine you can't see what they say but they both say PS2 passenger so I thought that was the sound in it and my friend said that MTH has only ever made 1 ho scale steam engine with PS2 and it was the k4

Would be nice if one of them would have featured the post 40's look w/the generator below the headlight. Always thought that helped.

2:10 that isn't the stock wiring arrangement of Bachmann model, is it? It looks like someone rewired the connector from the tender.
yes That bachmann K4 has be rewired from the connector to the tender

Correction: The MTH model uses their ProtoSound 3.0 system. ProtoSound 2.0 was only used in O and larger MTH locomotives.
