    I have this guitar actually. I put a bigs tremolo on it. It’s good for country and jazz but it also sounds really good cranked and heavy. It’s thin so I think that helps. But I’ve used it on songs where I’d normally use a Les Paul and it works fine

    Now that I’ve been playing this for a few months a few notes:
    It’s my go to guitar for messing around. It’s a blast to play. The neck pickup is louder than the bridge pickup for some reason. Also, playing it in a band context, the pickups seem to not cut through the mix very well. Playing by myself it sounds fine, though. So I’m considering attempting to replace pickups myself.

      You got a good one. I have 2 both are excellent. But the one that has the sharp horn is the best quality.

    I love mine. Had it like 5-6 months. But it will not stay intune. So I finally ordered a set of Chinese locking tuners. I hope that will solve it because I love playing it. Pickups are a little too dark for my liking, but I bump up the treble on the amp. Compared to the $399 Ibanez this guitar is right on par. The tuners cost me $13. The guitar was $193. So for $206 delivered to my door it rocks!

    The pick ups are too bad- not great- but decent. The only thing i would change asap are the tunnining nuts, its does fall out of tune fairly quickly if you play a little harder, alittle faster

    • @guitarstuff735
      @guitarstuff735  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I installed locking tuners. They help enormously but I think the trapeze tailpiece keeps it from being almost perfect. My tele has same tuners and stays perfectly in tune. I think a hard tail bridge makes that extra bit of a difference.

    Would you say this is Les Paul size?? or slightly bigger like an EPI Casino hollowbody? Cool guitar just to jam on in garage for $200. Sounds good acoustically.

    • @guitarstuff735
      @guitarstuff735  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Slightly bigger. Maybe a little deeper than a les Paul? I guess it’s closer in size to a Gibson ES 175 maybe? From what I’ve read.
      I play this thing all the time when just noodling around. It’s got a very cool look and vibe. The neck is very good. The nut needs a little work on the low E to adjust a slight sharpness in intonation. The tuners seem to slip a little bit. I had some crap guitars 30 years ago that I paid twice as much for. This thing is pretty darn ok.

    • @mattd1142
      @mattd1142 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tbh with you this guitar is kind of like a semi hollow Les Paul. A lot lighter but ver similar. If you look at the updated one they’re selling now on Amazon it’s pretty well a semi hollow Les Paul. It’s a great guitar. The 300 which this is. It’s thin. Like a Les Paul. There’s another version by IVY too which is much thicker and larger body

    Fun review! Can you tell us what this weighs? Maybe compare it to a Les Paul or a Strat in weight if you don't know the actual poundage

    • @guitarstuff735
      @guitarstuff735  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      7.5 lbs. My tele is 8.5. I’m not sure les Paul’s weigh but I think they vary quite a bit from what I’ve read. If you’re thinking about getting one I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. If you get it through Amazon and it’s not a good one just send it back. But from what I’ve been seeing on other channels is they’re usually good out of the box. I’m definitely going to replace tuners (even though these are pretty good) because I have locking tuners on everything else and love them.

    • @rjman3616
      @rjman3616 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@guitarstuff735 Got mine today. It's something more than 7.5 lbs but way lighter than the 11 pounds someone else cited. Everything looks good, I'm giving it 24 hours to acclimate before I tune it up and plug it in. Thanks for your advice.

    • @rjman3616
      @rjman3616 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I ended up sending mine back to Amazon. Bad tuners. In fact, the low E tuner was so bad I could actually watch the string fall out of tune.

    • @6bender
      @6bender 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rjman3616 Sorry to hear that. Was it the actual tuner or the string slipping? The guitar I received a couple weeks ago is perfect in every way. Did you order another one?

      @rjman3616 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1
