Great session, Cal, the additional risk of lifting the squid just adds to the suspense, love it! 🤍 Keep 'em coming, mate, your videos are always massively appreciated.
Really enjoyed your vid bro thanks 👍🏻a thumbs up and sun from me 😁can I ask when is best to fish for squid as in day or night and also when do they come into the piers etc as time of year? Many thanks Andrew
Thanks mate 👍🏼 The most productive time to fish for them in the Uk is at night yeah. You can catch them in daylight but night time is a lot better. In the Uk they’ll start appearing in the harbours in September. The best times are from mid September to December but you will catch them well into January and possibly the start of February.
Great fun! Please try the yamashita NMR or the Sardine colour. The 2.2 size is brilliant, just a single jig on a fast tip rod and 2500 reel, 8-10 pound braid with a 45cm mono leader, great fight! Tight lines... Best time to fish is an hour after sundown and if possible on a igh tide.
Yes very true. I should’ve mentioned that in the video really. I was more talking about your standard lure rod. A lot of people won’t be in the position to have to buy an Egi rod too.
While our main squid season is May and early June, the fall run is in full swing right now. You can even catch them in broad daylight right off the dock. The boat I go on does nighttime squid trips in the spring.
Its a Uk brand I think as I searched it..here in Greece we haven't this brand, only from the web . But I think if they hungry they ll worlk also the other known brands as well. We have the same size here also now except the weather is still like summer 😅
All of these squid are making me very hungry. Great night Cal!
😂👍🏼🎣
Cracking squid video mate loved that you got a few different sizes , hopfully the big ones come in in force 🎣🎣
Hopefully mate. Let’s go hunt them 🔥
Brilliant video mate, quality squidding look forward to your next one thanks.
Thanks mate, I’ll hopefully be doing some more squid fishing soon.
Now that was well worth the trip out . And yes some of those would make great for dinner. Keep up the hard work.
Woohoooo - you caught the Kraken! 🦑 Well jel - still not ever landed a squid. Thanks for the exclnt vid!

I don’t suppose you can tell me where this pier/harbor are ? I’m looking to fish squid and not sure where I can go :(

Thanks for the info. Tides over here vary, I find big springs rubbish. I’ve also had some good squid on the neaps and over low tide.
Nice one
Hi Cal, exactly which rattle jig did you use , lots of information , great video thank you.
It’s a Berkley jig. I think they’re called the EGI Master. They’re 20g 👍🏼
Same
Special Egi or squid rods have really soft tips to help stop them ripping out the tentacles!

That’s good mate. I’ve heard of a few people here catching them during the day too. Off the boats is possible during daylight for sure. 🦑
Nice squid catch.can you please write the brand of your jig that you use?thanks
It’s a Berkeley squid jig but I don’t know the exact name. You’ll find them online and in most tackle shops.

Brilliant Squiding session that. Are you in the UK?
Thanks. This is in Guernsey in the Channel Islands.
Oh wow! Beautiful place and jersey island. Thanks!
Are in Weymouth?
No this is in Guernsey
What are the gloves Cal?
They’re Dwalt fingerless gloves I bought from a local hardware store over here. I’m not a fan of the fishing branded ones.
@@FISHINGWITHCAL cool thanks
