"The more we operate in error, the more we spread damage through the environments in which we live and move." Amen! The Appeal to Authority fallacy has certainly been enacted to an extreme degree over the past 4 years. "Trust the experts", we hear, without being told who the experts are, what makes them experts, why it matters, whether there are other options, or any other information. Gatekeeping and guarding the narratives, for sure. This fallacy, like many others, is in direct opposition to personal responsibility, critical thinking, accountability, and integrity, like you say. Well done, and thank you, again!
My own experience with appeals to authority, in retrospect, came from a kind of laziness, wanting to outsource my need to think to other people. So exactly what you’re sharing here. Coming out of that and thinking for myself is one of the most important changes I’ve made in my adult life. Thank you for being willing to confront these issues and bring them to light.
The connection you made between our selves and the ego as an authority was huge for me in this video. The same dynamic of laziness and abdication of volition that occurs on a mass scale happens internally. It seems like there are some key operational elements both with the ego and in relational dynamics generally that go beyond authority into force, intimidation, etc. that also induce compliance/the codependency you mention.

Great video! I've never heard of the sunk cost fallacy but once you discussed it, I realized how much I see this in my own life. Again, great job!
