I'm looking forward to taking the SL-C out as soon as the weather breaks! BTW, it was a pleasure meeting you then, it's great to see you're the same humble and down to earth guy off the set! Scot
Ultima RS kit is about 500 lbs lighter with the same engine/drivetrain. 2500lbs vs 2000lbs I like both these kits but I’m wondering why it weighs so much more when it’s essentially the same thing. I like the look slightly more of the SLC but I hate luxury features and electronics with a passion. All I want is an engine, a roof, and 3 pedals.
Oh there are better options for the slc. The k48 hydra motor for example. Lt6 would be cool. But k48 can get that 10k rpm redline and should be able to easily make 1000hp plus.
@A.J.1656 you can get a k48 from another company already. And the neutron engines version is gonna be ready for next year probably and if you have the cash can likely he ordered already given he's already got a bunch of the rotsting assembly parts made. However you'd be paying for the billet block costs which means it's still gonna be like a 40 to 60k engine build. Won't make sense for anyone wanting a stock lt6 set up. But for those wanting built or turbocharged lt6 set ups the k48 is probably a better replacement. It'd be heavy but could also use the VW version of the Bentley w12 engine wirh basic mods. Think the 2uz Toyota v8 might also work well for high revs and similar power levels but probably cost more. The transmission choices leave alot to be desired as far as top speed performance. The graziano and some others are built for higher revving motors then the slcs typical choices. To do it properly imo you need roughly at 8k to 8500 rpm redline. K48 and the cima t1107 transaxle from pagani and Koenigsegg cars and the ssc tuatara is my build plan. Well as long as business plans work out. Cheaper build option albeit not by much is a 6 speed graziano from a lambo but sequential conversion. Cima is the high end 7 speed option.
