I still maintain that Leds failed to sufficiently strengthen the team. We still are in need of players that can put the ball in the net. Having said that, Farke isn't getting the most out of the players at his disposal. If Aaronson was able to start, then why wasn't Tanaka given more time to make an impact. Early days, but that's 3 points relinquished to a rival for promotion.
October will be the key month for Farke, if it's still the same style of play by the end of October he will be gone. Key games again which Leeds need to win to get promoted, you are absolutely right with your analysis.

You nailed it Conor. Around the 18:00 mark I almost stood up from my couch and applauded. Shocking decisions from Farke. It was plain as day. His in-game management is not even average…it’s POOR. All our goals come when we’re moving the ball quickly or we’re in transition. When teams sit in and defend, the system breaks down and Farke has no answers, no plan, it’s just a boring possession game with no end product, no guile, no bite. Really frustrating to see it time and time again

We have to give Mateo Joseph a bit of time to adjust to the pace and physicality of the championship. It’s a million miles away from playing youth team football and he probably needs about 10 games to properly get up to speed. People saying he is another Bamford is very unfair on the boy.
On the debrief a week or so ago, a comment from Gabe I agreed with, we don’t create enough quality chances. Today we had 2! And xg of 1.08(0.87 first half) so all second half, 0.21 That’s exactly what Gabe was on about. This has happened so often, we just play side to side, not looking dangerous, all pointless possession. It’s irrespective which players are on the pitch or the opposition, the “tactics” remain the same. Once again, a defensively solid side has outdone us and Farke, the reason we succeed against lesser sides is simply due to player quality, or lesser quality opponents and mistakes/gaps that open. I started to question Farke roughly October/November last season and this hasn’t changed Contrary to all of this, we will still collect enough points to get promoted because quality shines through like last season. The players are 100% good enough
Have to laugh at connors comment about aaronson, he was our best player first half, he just digs at him all the time just like james no matter what they do, 2really nice through balls and finally when he did go off we were far worse

When we are at home, the teams we’ve played so far have all pressed and bullied us, even Hull to an extent (which we won) but the counter press is leaving us wide open and teams are pressing with pace and numbers and we’ve been mugged off again. Another manager has outsmarted Farke on tactics and Burnley were there to be beaten, but once more we have failed the audition.

I thought it was quite telling when the game was stopped for the head injuries, the camera panned to the technical area, Farke was stood on his own talking to nobody, and Parker was surrounded by most of his players who were obviously being fed tactics! It took Farke about 4 minutes to engage with anyone. I still don’t know what our plan for any game is, its certainly not obvious. First time i’ve started to question Farke’s ability. He seems to depend on players individual ability, rather than them being a ‘Team’.

Burnley scored and then they all sat back. They didn't care what the stats were, just the important one - goals. Leeds learned about the pace of the game in the Premiership. From the 1st minute Messlier spread panic... Yes Joseph missed a sitter... But with a commanding keeper we would of drawn this game at least... The panic in the defence whenever a team attacks is all due to zero confidence in our keeper.. Trafford showed the importance of a goalie who takes the pressure off. For me Messlier is the weakest link

Conor you're 100% spot on @ 25mins, Farke is skating on thin ice this season, and his in game management is awful at times, especially today, crying out for changes at half time and he leaves it untill nearly 70mins. Rutter is dreadful. 15 runs per game with is circa 700 per season and he's involved in 22 goals. Falls over, gives ball, picks wrong pass and cost us more than he gave, but hey he was a smiler who produced the odd moment of brilliance
Farke has his favorites and is very stubborn, a terrible and self destructive combination . Ive realised hes very superstitious which is deadly . This is why he wear stupid 'lucky black coats ' when the sun is shining and everyone else is in shirtsleeves . We need a new number 9. It's unfair to put all the pressure on Joseph & Bamford is next to useless. Did Farke not want a number 9 or is it the 49s? Crowd already sound disgruntled. I said it all last season. Farke is reactive just like Marsch was. No idea on making subs. Still no improvements in corners, set pieces etc. Lots of possession with little cutting edge. No promotion again. Not under this manager.

Farke is one of the worst tacticians in the game - he doesnt have a 10 to bail him out and set up the scoring. At the end of the match you look at the players on the pitch at the end and it just would never make a starting line up positionally

I don’t like doing this (constantly digging out one individual player) but Jayden Bogle is honestly awful. His defending is terrible! Sheff United have had our pants down! His indecision for the Burnley goal was inexcusable! I was a defender and the first thing I would have done in that scenario would have been to close down the man with the ball and if he then lays in the other player then fair enough and at least I’ve done my bit! 🙄 Bogle did neither and laid it on a plate for Koloshelu to slot it away. Don’t get me wrong it was a good finish but fucking terrible defending! Also, can someone explain to me why we’re bringing on Piroe + Rothwell to change a game? Should have been Tanaka for Ampadu and Ramazani for Aaronsan and move Gnonto into the 10! Inject some pace into things! Terrible today
I have a couple of points on this. What stands out to me is that once again farke has been tactically out played by a superior manager. Second of all why does any player come to leeds on loan. Farke clearly never plays his loan players or trusts them. It's like he's trying to prove a point every week by not putting them in the team. He'll play others out of position even when they are going through a patch of terrible form before giving a loan players a chance. I think he's on borrowed time and tbh i think the push should come sooner than l rather then later as with each passing game I'm losing faith in him. Even if through some miracle we are promoted i think he's not tactically flexible enough to cope with the premiership managers.

Why does Farke bring Piroe on and not play him as a striker? I think we all knew by the end of the last season that he wasn't a number 10! Rodan and Bogle had stinkers, and changes should have been made at half time, not after 70 minutes!

Just got back from the game. Awful performance, typical pedestrian passing with no penetration. If Joseph scores his simple finish it’s a different game, but he didn’t 🤷♂️ and they had one single chance and scored !! Leeds innit 😔

I do feel like it’s starting to feel as though you have a slight agenda against Farke mate… Farke has areas of his game to improve absolutely, but he isn’t solely to blame for this. The simple fact we created 17 official chances, yet only 4 are on target… that’s on the players and no one else. The subs were questionable but we had two injury concerns with Rodon and ampadu and then we needed to make changes elsewhere so I do feel in TODAYS game his hand was forced a bit. We completely shut Burnley down, the supposed title winning team in everyone’s book. They didn’t make more than two exciting plays the whole game and their goal came from our player slipping. Not to mention the fact we had one training day before the game after international duty where 15 of our players were away, and Burnley almost had a full camp for two weeks to prepare for this game and still we should have won. Really weird that you say they looked “really dangerous” … they didn’t do anything. There’s still loads of good stuff to take from this, besides the annoying result.

I agree Connor Farke back to his poor timing of substitutes wrong again and doesn't have a clue at times think he now showing his true colours and being found out. As for our keeper didn't have to do much but our defender's still have no confidence in Meslier as he can't command his box properly
The thing that confused me with you lot is even in the 90th minute you were just more focused on keeping the ball and not hoofing it up and trying to make a chance you just looked more bothered in looking pretty not making chances, great result for us good luck for the rest of the season

Conor you're 100% spot on @ 25mins, Farke is skating on thin ice this season, and his in game management is awful at times, especially today, crying out for changes at half time and he leaves it untill nearly 70mins.

Rutter is dreadful. 15 runs per game with is circa 700 per season and he's involved in 22 goals. Falls over, gives ball, picks wrong pass and cost us more than he gave, but hey he was a smiler who produced the odd moment of brilliance

Why is it unfair to expect your strikers to do their job ? Beckford was commentating and my instant thought was he would never have missed that chance Joseph missed. Im still backing Joseph but that was a very bad miss. As for Bamford, he wouldn't have been able to run away from the defenders like Joseph did.

I agree with you on most points but the Gruev one today I disagree in respects of I thought ampadu was awful today and he could have been brought off 55/60 mins for tanaka or rothwell.

Farke is one of the worst tacticians in the game - he doesnt have a 10 to bail him out and set up the scoring. At the end of the match you look at the players on the pitch at the end and it just would never make a starting line up positionally

Joseph is unfortunately under massive pressure as the main striker this season - its not his fault the club have chucked all their hope on his shoulders.
I don’t like doing this (constantly digging out one individual player) but Jayden Bogle is honestly awful. His defending is terrible! Sheff United have had our pants down! His indecision for the Burnley goal was inexcusable! I was a defender and the first thing I would have done in that scenario would have been to close down the man with the ball and if he then lays in the other player then fair enough and at least I’ve done my bit! 🙄 Bogle did neither and laid it on a plate for Koloshelu to slot it away. Don’t get me wrong it was a good finish but fucking terrible defending!
Also, can someone explain to me why we’re bringing on Piroe + Rothwell to change a game?
Should have been Tanaka for Ampadu and Ramazani for Aaronsan and move Gnonto into the 10! Inject some pace into things!

I have a couple of points on this. What stands out to me is that once again farke has been tactically out played by a superior manager. Second of all why does any player come to leeds on loan. Farke clearly never plays his loan players or trusts them. It's like he's trying to prove a point every week by not putting them in the team. He'll play others out of position even when they are going through a patch of terrible form before giving a loan players a chance. I think he's on borrowed time and tbh i think the push should come sooner than l rather then later as with each passing game I'm losing faith in him. Even if through some miracle we are promoted i think he's not tactically flexible enough to cope with the premiership managers.
Watching that today mid table at best sick and tired of possession stats where no threat up front and can't defend with constant playing of defensive midfielders at home , Burnley did a job on us and it was our mistake again to give them the goal

Why does Farke bring Piroe on and not play him as a striker? I think we all knew by the end of the last season that he wasn't a number 10! Rodan and Bogle had stinkers, and changes should have been made at half time, not after 70 minutes!
Piroe only need to come on when we are winning, gelhardt better option off the bench if we are behind why? Because he shows, urgency, fight, willing to take players on

Awful performance, typical pedestrian passing with no penetration. If Joseph scores his simple finish it’s a different game, but he didn’t 🤷♂️ and they had one single chance and scored !! Leeds innit 😔

No VAR in the championship in 2024 is a joke. The referee was perfectly placed to give that penalty and simply turned a blind eye. Complete knob.

Leeds doesn't have much guile up front. Even getting one goal seems like hard work. It's all a little one-paced all over the pitch.

Farke has areas of his game to improve absolutely, but he isn’t solely to blame for this. The simple fact we created 17 official chances, yet only 4 are on target… that’s on the players and no one else.
The subs were questionable but we had two injury concerns with Rodon and ampadu and then we needed to make changes elsewhere so I do feel in TODAYS game his hand was forced a bit.
We completely shut Burnley down, the supposed title winning team in everyone’s book. They didn’t make more than two exciting plays the whole game and their goal came from our player slipping. Not to mention the fact we had one training day before the game after international duty where 15 of our players were away, and Burnley almost had a full camp for two weeks to prepare for this game and still we should have won. Really weird that you say they looked “really dangerous” … they didn’t do anything.
There’s still loads of good stuff to take from this, besides the annoying result.
Its not the players it's the manager and his instructions. Farke is a disgrace. The Ref was terrible. If things were the othe way it would've been a Burnley Penalty😊

I agree Connor Farke back to his poor timing of substitutes wrong again and doesn't have a clue at times think he now showing his true colours and being found out. As for our keeper didn't have to do much but our defender's still have no confidence in Meslier as he can't command his box properly
The thing that confused me with you lot is even in the 90th minute you were just more focused on keeping the ball and not hoofing it up and trying to make a chance you just looked more bothered in looking pretty not making chances, great result for us good luck for the rest of the season
