Hi Taylor I use a 410 tip when I'm spraying doors with a red filter some guys use yellow but I find you get more tip clogs with that filter. If you've got a grace gun then it would be the blue filter. Can I ask , do you think your paint down and if so how much ?
No one has actually asked that question before , so originally I had a t4 , it broke down twice within 14 months. The second time it broke down was 2 months after it was first fixed. So I decided to buy a 390 as a back up. I made a you tube video on the t4 and the 390 , tritech saw this video wasn't to happy with the experience I had with the t4 so they offered me a t5 for free , but i had to send them back the t4 so they could see why it was breaking down . So I really only have 2 machines the graco is a back up. The paint I use is crown obliterating emulsion , excellent for spraying.
@@camdecorations9779 so how is the t5 or the 390. I have a titan 410 and having very patchy finish with leyland super leytex. Will be trying mcphersons eclipse next week and I'll try the crown obliterating
Hi Colin Had any problems with threads stripping on tritech guns Guns just blow clean of , fortunately was just putting water through it Happened twice now a 360 and a 380 Give us your thoughts pal Dave
@@camdecorations9779 where do you order your brown paper from as I've been playing £8 for a 300mm roll. Not sure if it's covid tax but struggling to find it cheaper mate.
Hey Colin, really enjoy your videos. What order do you decorate a room so say ceiling is different colour to walls and you need to undercoat and gloss woodwork- which order would you typically do those four stages? What is a good entry level airless sprayer for a home gamer with a decent sized renovation to do? Thanks 👍
Hello matt as long as your only doing a few houses and your not going to use it on a building site I would go with the graco Gx21 , thats a decent enough sprayer for what you want. Now if your looking to spray all your work spray undercoat then spray your gloss , mask your woodwork up fully , then spray your walls to a finish , you'll need to buy an handmasker and mask, the ceiling line using masking tape attached to plastic to cover at least half the wall length then spray your ceilings to a finish . Or another way is to spray your ceilings spray your undercoat to the woodwork and spray gloss your woodwork . Mask up woodwork then cut in and roll your walls. Hope this helps
I’m spraying Mcpherson primer using a T4 with a red filter, 50 mesh manifold, 310 tip and unthinned paint. It keeps blocking. Could you let me know what you use please?
If the prices for the house were better then I would definitely mask up and spray but until then its a brush and roller finish . If that ever happens I would invest in a AAA sprayer , excellent finish on the woodwork and just as quick spraying the walls with an airless unit.
What primer undercoat would you recommend for Gx21ff? Customer has large property and doesn’t want to spend a lot. Will only be my second time using the machine.
I add 1 litre of water to 5 litres of primer undercoat , without doors and a double undercoat to door frames around 4 - 5 litres. With doors your looking around 8 - 9 litres but that's double undercoating the doors , all depends on how new your tips are.
cam decorations when I spray the top coat on my walls I can never seem to get it solid on the contacts next to my frames, any tips to avoid running a brush over them to get a solid line?
I know everyone has their own techniques to doin things, just thaght I'd share my way, I cut in round hinges with a brush then spray, any over spray on hinges I wipe straight off, so much quicker and no tapin up and de tapin on hinges, also I spray skirting first then door, room side first then come bk out close door but leave slight gap and spray hall side, this way I dont get over spray on inside hinges, open the door bk up, then spray room side frame then hall side frame...this prevents line touching the door n frame as I move arround...
Hi Colin.Could u please tell us what pressure you use for this Machperson and how much do you thin it? Many thanks
Hi mate. What size tip and filters are you using here? Having a lot of tip clogs when spraying primer

Definitely the way forward this pal, I have intentions of investing in a unit in the next few year. Where you based?
Hi Colin, how come you have 3 airless machines and how often do you buy another unit? Also which paint do you use for matte walls? Thanks

Hi Colin
Had any problems with threads stripping on tritech guns
Guns just blow clean of , fortunately was just putting water through it
Happened twice now a 360 and a 380
Give us your thoughts pal
Dave
Yeah there not the greatest of threads I haven't stripped one but I know it can be a pain in the arse putting the guard on the gun sometimes
Hi mate, started watching your videos and they are really helpful. What size extension are you using and where is it from please? Thanks. 👍🏻
It's a 9" extension, and you can get them from sprayman UK, airless Pro, spray direct,

Matt make sure you buy decent low tack tape so you don't rip of the fresh paint when you demask

Also do you think the primer at all?
Yes use the yellow filter and thin material to 25% that's the ratio I use . So so 5 litres of primer undercoat , 1 litre of water
@C R that primer is good I use it all the time and I've tried various primers but always go back to that one
Hello mate when’s the next video coming out
I'm looking to put one out this week 👍
Nice video again mate. What’s your thoughts on firing oil ( eggshells, satins, gloss ) through your unit.
If the prices for the house were better then I would definitely mask up and spray but until then its a brush and roller finish . If that ever happens I would invest in a AAA sprayer , excellent finish on the woodwork and just as quick spraying the walls with an airless unit.
Yeah no problems spraying oilbase paints through the unit .
cam decorations yeah Colin an AAA be the prize man. But you’d need to use that daily to get pay back.
Fast way to do it. . Do you finish coats with brush and rollers.
Yeah , it would cost to much money in protection to spray finish. Thanks for watching
That spray gun is like an extension of your own arm #legend
What primer undercoat would you recommend for Gx21ff? Customer has large property and doesn’t want to spend a lot. Will only be my second time using the machine.
Mcphearson primer undercoat its a decent price and it sprays nicely through the gun
Great videos 👍🏻
Is the primer undercoat oil based or water based?
Waterbase mate 👍
How much primer do you go through on a standard 3 bed? With and without doors
I add 1 litre of water to 5 litres of primer undercoat , without doors and a double undercoat to door frames around 4 - 5 litres. With doors your looking around 8 - 9 litres but that's double undercoating the doors , all depends on how new your tips are.

That actually sounds like a good way of working , definitely going to try that way and see how quick it is . Thanks fletcher
