    --------
In this clip, Michael Jai White talks about the legacy of Jon "Bones" Jones amid his recent UFC 285 victory over Ciryl Gane. The action film star explains why he believes that Jones is the greatest MMA fighter of all time, despite being suspended for steroids for one year back in 2016. As the discussion moves along, Michael shares what it was like to grapple with Jones before revealing that he predicted Jones would go unbeaten when he was a relatively unknown fighter early in his career.

Jones fights so nastily. Like those oblique kicks to attack the knees or the eye pokes. He wants to do serious damage. In the case of Gane, I bet Jon was applying pressure right on the Adam’s apple, which is why Gane’s expression was like ‘this mfer legit tried to kill me’ 😳

Jones and MJW have the same approach to the combat arts, the only difference is Jon’s makes a living at fighting, while MJW makes a living at acting and now teaching via some pretty good videos streaming! I think that as personalities go MJW has a better character off screen, maybe because at one time he was a street tough! And he has been through a lot of dangerous situations so at some point he had to re-access where he was going and what the hell was he doing with his life, he came to the conclusion that there had to be some big changes in his attitude and approach to his career and life in general! Joh Jones has not quite got to that same place in life!

Bruce Lee taught just like this: about how genetic favor should play into a fighter's advantages & fighting style while they should also cover all bases concerning wrestling, submissions/grappling, & striking.
He also taught about how you need to weight train which wasnt normal for real martial artists despite the kung fu films showing the uniquely fake shaolin training(which would only cripple a person in real life).
Weight training was more of a western reality at the time for athletes & especially boxers who at the time were the most athletic concerning cardio & weight training. Bruce mentioned how you need strength for your technique to have any real effect but you also dont want clunky muscle that will slow you down(& as we have since learned will gas you out more so than slow down your strikes).
He said Kareem Abdul Jabar should be able to easily beat him in a street fight via his reach advantages. Jon Jones then is the epitome of the best of all worlds...tall enough to beat the tall guys having mutual strength yet lean enough to not gas out so quickly.
Plus he doesnt waste energy like those who try to mimic Bruce in his films via shuffling from foot to foot(a technique that works better for flyweights & bantamweights like Bruce who shouldnt fear gassing out in a 25 minute fight). Read every Bruce Lee book you can find...the man too was a BRILLIANT THINKER(a self proclaimed philosopher) which was the source of his prowess both in acting & martial arts.

There's the Russian dude Sergei and that's literally about it. Everybody else in the heavyweight division are fight night fighters. Guys like Derrick Lewis and Curtis blaydes and Tai Tuivasa. Stipe has 3 defenses after winning his title... If Jones beats Stipe, he's going after his record to become the best Heavyweight of all time as well as the best LHW to ever do it and ride off into the sunset undefeated... yeah, he has the loss from a DQ, but he was destroying Matt... and the ref should of only deducted a point, that ref was the worst one the UFC has ever had to deal with thanks to the athletic commission who puts them in place.
It was also a joke when he said that, he posted later that he was kidding and it won't be his last fight. He did way too much work to only fight twice at a new weight class. He'll go for the record, unless he loses then you'll probably see a rematch and then win or lose he'll walk away

0:36 THANK YOU!!! That shyt is not going to help you in a fight, nowhere near as much as ppl hype it up to. I've been the shorter kid my whole life and my grandfather was a boxer before WW2, so he taught his sons how to, and us-his grandsons-as well. Up until i was 19, 9 years ago, I was an amateur boxer hoping to go pro and I'll never forget the pep talk my PopPop had with me about a wk out from my first fight. I was scared shytless bcz dude was bigger and stronger than me and PopPop could read me like a book, I could fool most anyone including lucifer but i never could fool him. PopPop slapped the shyt out of my upper spine with them big ass heavy hands of his, lbvs, and said, "boy, you've trained from dawn to dusk for weeks in order to prepare for this fight. I've taught you since you were a toddler how to box and you've been fighting your whole life up until now. That boy being bigger and stronger ain't gon' help him anymore than him being big and strong gon' help the referee. Sonny Liston was twice the size of Muhammad Ali, more experienced, and could knock a mule out with either hand, and Ali was scared of him and thought he was crazy...and he still beat him TWICE. The body of the fighter don't matter no where near, the skill of a fighter." Ever since then when I hear "fighters" talk about other fighters popping for this or that, and using it as an excuse for being defeated. Like DC. Yeah Jon is a junkie and did P.E.Ds but P.E.Ds didn't tell him to trip you up with his left foot when he hit you and had you spinning. Knowing your equilibrium was off and you couldn't find your balance and he beat you. Nor did they make him remember you saying to him to not think he was going to kick you in the head with his left leg and beat you. That was skill. So the excuse of not being able to totally forgive and settle is preposterous to me. If he beat DC in a weight lifting contest, then yeah, that holds significant difference. But it wasn't so it doesn't

The only time you have an advantage with PEDS is when you are fighting among brutes with no fighting IQ, and it all comes down to strength and punch for punch. Just like tigerwood is golf taking peds, no amount of peds can give you the sense of accuracy and distance he had.

Jones had a reach advantage ranging like 4-12in over everyone in LWH. The issue is the massive range of acceptable weight at HW. Simply making heavyweight would be easy. Jones would still sit naturally at HW, he just didn't want to be at a massive deficit against Francis.

@@RosvStudios to get bigger then what he already was bro. Not everyone that is tall and skinny is “light weight”. Everyone has a different body type and just being “big “ or “skinny “ does not always mean they match the weight they’re supposed to. A lot of taller guys do weigh a lot more then most ppl would think and then there are some who are really skinny. I’m 5’10 and almost 200 but im a bodybuilder so im heavier then most guys that should meet their respective weight. We’re not talking out of shape ppl. So that’s why I said Jon is a lot bigger then most ppl give him credit for. Plus he had to get to a weight where he can actually compete with those heavy guys.
Even if he is 230 naturally, he might. He would need to get to 240-245 to be actually able to compete with those guys who are in the high 200’s that are cutting weight. I know that was a lot and it’s hard to explain over this but do you get what I’m saying or am I making any sense at all ?
