Hey @Brandon Butch I’ve been having an issue with the software and I can’t find anything on it that is exactly my problem. So basically whenever I’m on an existing call I’m not receiving an incoming call. For example, I’m on a call with my friend and my mom try’s to call me. But it won’t ring for her it just kicks her straight to voicemail even though she’s on my emergency contact, favorites, and even emergency bypass. Idk if it’s software or maybe one of my settings. But if u can pls maybe include it in ur next video to demonstrate it visually or get back to me and reply here that would be great. Thank u and have a great day
You missed the coolest Siri feature: While watching video, press the button and ask “What did they say?”. It rewinds the video 15 seconds, and turns captions on. When the clip is finished, it turns captions back off.
Brandon, does the AppleTV connect with your AirPods because you are using the HomePods as speakers or do they also work with your Samsung speakers or sound bar?

Two days ago I upgraded my 7-year-old 32-inch HD (non-Smart) TV to a new 50-inch 4k Smart TV. I have an original Apple TV 4k and apair of 2nd generation HomePods as a stereo pair. While the TV needed an internet connection (I used Ethernet) for setup and a software update, it's Wi-Fi is turned off and the Ethernet unplugged. According to articles tvOS has received an upgrade to Siri using new AI technologies, that's probably why the search and Siri in general feels better on tvOS than iOS.
Great video! Also love my Apple TV. One question though. I used to have my HomePod mini paired as stereo but it wasn’t very good (before the new HomePod was released). So I upgraded to Sonos arc + Sub You say here that the HomePods will replace your sound bar, which sound bar do you use? And do you think it would be better than Sonos ARC/Sub?
I started with the first gen, which was making the home’s best sound system and big screen tv into an iPod. It was before streaming was much of a thing, so you downloaded content or had it feed from an iTunes library on a Mac or PC on the network. I have plenty of that content still, which has followed me to the current generation. I wish there were some iOS and iPadOS apps on it - I had a great yoga subscription that was on those two, but not tvOS, and setting up AirPlay to use it was a pain. The device itself, however, just works, day, after week, after month, after year. The consistency makes it less necessary to upgrade since the 4th generation added apps, but when I replace my current tv, I will likely grab the newest Apple TV as well as my current setup isn’t 4K yet.
@@shapyronyt183 it’s not, actually. It’s literally the same model as it’s in the video, and also, basic features like app integrations don’t work based on the model but on the software version. :)

Brandon, I use one app only in addition to Netflix and they work so fine on my Samsung smart tv. Do you think do I need the Apple TV? I had same thoughts as you that it’s the only device I didn’t get.

Also love that’s fanless means no dust gets inside. I like the touch and button combo on the new remote. I didn’t turn off the touch it’s implemented way better then with the old remote. Are the homepods worth it? Or is a separate sound stage better? Homepods would kind of be my only option on my monitor. I use beyerdynamic headphones connected to the monitor now. I also use Spotify. Also have homepod mini in my bedroom which I rarely use but have found out that Spotify isn’t great on there is this Spotify’s ignorance or Apple’s? Is it possible to copy and paste entire playlist from Spotify to Apple music? On the remote I turned off that it opened the sleep menu when pressing the mulitask/appswitcher button it’s annoying. That setting is somewhat buried in the settings page. You could move the streaming services to the top row the up next session will work with thiose apps if you do that. Idk. Good video

Next too the Apple Watch the Apple TV 4K might be my favorite apple product. It’s so amazing. I wasn’t he homepod was better optimized to the Apple TV. But it’s the best streaming device ever. No lag. Better display and better picture quality. And the ability to use the ecosystem with it. It’s the best on the market for me.
Can I just set it up and use it without providing Apple with my complete biographical history, next of kin, net worth, current health, and on and on? (Will I have to sign up and let Apple track every single thing I watch?)
If your TV is made in the last decade or so it should support HDMI-CEC and you should be able to use your TV remote instead. You lose the siri functionality obviously. I just use my TV remote. The only thing is - for some reason I have to switch to the input of the apple tv to get it to turn on - it won't turn on the device automatically if I have my TV set to just power on with that input selected. Not sure if it is a bug with the TV or what.
How well does siri integrate with Plex? I've never seen a device that even has decent UI on Plex. I am considering ATV for Plex and Steam Link, to replace my very old mini PC.
I got my Apple 4K TV a few months ago just because the WEBOS on my LG C2 is terrible. I have 2 new HomePods Second Gen and 3 minis in my TV room. It sounds really good when i connect them all together via Airplay.

Thinking about purchasing, but I currently have a 1080p tv from 2017 (32 inch) so guess i'm not going to benefit from the 4K. Would this still be worth buying if smart tv's are slow? This'll be my first apple tv as well!
Can you play multiplayer on arcade with these? I have 3 kids and we have Apple Arcade but they don’t even use it. Wanting to know if that would work for them
I’m thinking of upgrading my Apple TV because Fubo TV looks bad on my Samsung QN85C. Would the newest Apple TV clean up low quality content better than native tv apps or the previous Apple TV?
Can I stream and connect other Apple product to it and watch those? For example I am a coach can I connect my MacBook and stream film from HUDL or something like that??

According to articles tvOS has received an upgrade to Siri using new AI technologies, that's probably why the search and Siri in general feels better on tvOS than iOS.
makes sense, it feels more accurate every time I use it!
Still not available in Poland
11:23 i will get a Apple TV because of your review. I have a 2nd gen and it will go to another room. Thank you for taking the time on this
Great video!
Also love my Apple TV. One question though. I used to have my HomePod mini paired as stereo but it wasn’t very good (before the new HomePod was released).
So I upgraded to Sonos arc + Sub
You say here that the HomePods will replace your sound bar, which sound bar do you use? And do you think it would be better than Sonos ARC/Sub?
I have a 2020 ATV and I'm definitely getting the new one because of this video.
I just wonder if it's worth waiting for the next gen?
Thanks for the review! Have you tried Google Chromecast with Google TV? Does it allow to cast audio to Airpods?
Wait! Since when is Netflix integrated into Apple TV? Last I checked, if I ask it to play something on Netflix, it says it's not supported.
Your Apple TV is probably an older version.
@@shapyronyt183 it’s not, actually. It’s literally the same model as it’s in the video, and also, basic features like app integrations don’t work based on the model but on the software version. :)
Thanks I'm getting the Apple TV after watching your Review it was great! Answered all my questions!
Hands down the best review I’ve seen. I’m sold!
thanks! Appreciate that
Presumably you can also connect other bluetooth earphones to the apple tv outside of just airpods? maybe not with such a seamless connection process but it must be doable right?
Yeah any bluetooth headphones will do
Brandon, I use one app only in addition to Netflix and they work so fine on my Samsung smart tv. Do you think do I need the Apple TV? I had same thoughts as you that it’s the only device I didn’t get.
If thats the case then you can skip the apple TV, unless your TV apps are lagging way too much.
Ok Brandon, I'd never thought I'd want it so much, I was like 2 minutes into the video and I just putting that into my wish list. Thank you for the wholesome content you've been providing us.
This has been the question I’ve had for years. Why do I need it? Thanks for the video
I got the new ATV when it launched the remote with usbc I am in love. I had the older version that had the worst remote ever that’s the reason I didn’t use it anymore. Idk. Good video
I’m in the population that loves the old remote. I tried the new one didn’t like it, so I went right back to old one.
Is that “top shelf” feature only available on the box? I’m trying to find on my phone 📱
Can you have multiple profiles with their own accounts linked to them?
Brandon, your video was very informative and well done. I already own several Apple TVs, but do not have the latest one that you are discussing. Base on your review, I see a new addition to my Apple collection. Keep up the good work. 👍
I could follow all your points until you said it might be worth the upgrade from the 2021 version.
No one's gonna lift their Apple TV on a daily basis and notice the weight difference...
Yeah my face crunched up from that one as well. Especially leading with that reason 😂
I love mine. I would have definitely mentioned how seamless AirPods are using it. Amazing.
does it work 4k60 with geforce now?
Brandon, one small tip you don’t need to hold the remote like a mic when you talk to Siri 😝
Just order one during watching. Thx
Why only use it in 1080p HDR?
The 64GB model goes on sale for $99 on Amazon every so often, with the new remote being $60 on its own that’s a crazy good deal!
99$ ? That's for sure the gen 2 no the 3
does the sound bar work nice with it? i have a sony soundbar and don’t want to buy new speakers.
Yes, provided it has HDMI arc
@@ZK-APA So i bought the Apple TV and i love it. But i cannot switch off the sound bar with the remote. I can control the volume with the apple remote but not the ON/OFF function. very annoying
@@mikeHamilton-w3x your CEC settings are incorrect somewhere. Check on your apple tv settings->remotes and devices and check in home cinema control.
And hos is your TV connected to your apple tv? Is it apple tv going to your TV which is going to your soundbar, or is it your apple tv going into your soundbar which is then going into your TV?
Thanks for the great video, mate! Would the synced Homepods work on your TV on other HDMI channels or cable TV like your TV soundbar? I wanted to check as I like the clean setup, but I'm afraid it's just not possible.
Hey! Is it possible to use it as remote controll for my old HIFI sound system? I dont want to turn on the tv to listen to music. Is it possible to have ariplay, without turning on the tv?
Hey yall! I have a question, with the 128gb Apple TV do I have to have an Ethernet port to get my Apple TV to work or will it work without the Ethernet port because I want the extra storage! Can I just get the hdmi and the power cord and it will work fine?
I’m thinking about getting an Apple TV however, I just bought a surroundsound system and now I’m thinking should I get the HomePod?
Brandon here’s a question. I heard at one time when using Apple TV the streams go through Apples servers giving the best possible picture. Any truth in that? Great chnnel
The only problem with these is once you buy one you need one for every tv in the house.
Having that stuff needs to pay tv liscense?
No, it’s apps that you are already paying for. All you need is to log into those accounts such as Netflix and it will work straight away.
Does Apple TV supports 120HZ frame rate if supported by the TV?
Can I just set it up and use it without providing Apple with my complete biographical history, next of kin, net worth, current health, and on and on? (Will I have to sign up and let Apple track every single thing I watch?)
No. Just asking such a ridiculous question doesn’t deserve a more detailed answer. Please don’t ever buy an Apple product!
How do you cope with changing picture settings of your TV for different types of content? I hate using multiple remotes at a same time.
Do you need to pay for Apple TV plus to own it and use it?
How much did Apple pay you to record this video?
Because I am sold!
Do I need a smart TV if I have Apple TV 4K latest set box?
Apple TV is amazing to listen to Apple Music in Dolby Atmos, if you have a soundbar with rear speakers and Dolby Atmos support, totally worth it.
I got my Apple 4K TV a few months ago just because the WEBOS on my LG C2 is terrible. I have 2 new HomePods Second Gen and 3 minis in my TV room. It sounds really good when i connect them all together via Airplay.
When do you think the next gen will be out ?
I have the 2ng generation and I’m about to slide my card for the new one , my curiosity is the HDR 10 + I want to see is it’s any difference.
does screen mirroring of apple tv work on non-smart TVs?
Can you tell me if the series Harlots is available in 2160p HDR or dolby vision?
Thanks for this video! Do you know if you can you view photos and documents on this device?
I remember when I switched from a Roku to the Apple TV and my god, I wish I switched sooner lol. I’m never going back!
Just bought one, came here to justify my purchase because I had concerns, but you said you got your money's worth and more - thank you for your video
Do you need an Apple TV 4k if you own a Roku Smart TV like from TCL/Hisense? I just want to watch netflix and apple tv
Hi, really good video, I also hesitate to buy an Apple TV, is it possible to change input with the Apple TV remote? From HDMI 1, to HDMI 2 for example?
Thinking about purchasing, but I currently have a 1080p tv from 2017 (32 inch) so guess i'm not going to benefit from the 4K. Would this still be worth buying if smart tv's are slow? This'll be my first apple tv as well!
I recently bought the Apple TV 4K and now wonder why I didn’t buy one sooner. Great device.
I have a normal tv planing to buy a 4k tv soon but I want to know should I buy an apple tv now or not
Can you play multiplayer on arcade with these? I have 3 kids and we have Apple Arcade but they don’t even use it. Wanting to know if that would work for them
great ad for Apple TV
I’m thinking of upgrading my Apple TV because Fubo TV looks bad on my Samsung QN85C. Would the newest Apple TV clean up low quality content better than native tv apps or the previous Apple TV?
The fubo tv quality has to do with the app itself unfortunately.
Can I stream and connect other Apple product to it and watch those? For example I am a coach can I connect my MacBook and stream film from HUDL or something like that??
Yes.
Just ordered mine! Got a new QLED with google tv and the lag and choppiness in the UI on live tv is dang near unusable. Like 10 seconds to change a channel terrible. Saw a ton of people say that ATV is the only way to go for Directv stream or any other streaming/live events. Can’t wait to try it!
You can change the keyboard layout in settings! I noticed when I used the default keyboard layout on youtube, there was a bug and I changed the layout and it works better!
no matter the keyboard layout, dictation searching will always be more efficient!
@@BrandonButch I also have a question unrelated to the video. Ever since I updated to 16.3 I’ve been having a bug that says my camera isn’t working the way it should (Unknown Part) even though I’ve never gotten my phone fixed for that to happen. Would you happen to have a clue as to why this is happening?
I have a 1st gen 4k Apple TV, am I missing out by not upgrading to the newest one? It doesn’t seem sluggish yet. It’s running the A10x with 3gb of ram.
No not really. Although if you are planning to upgrade, it makes sense to wait as a new one should be coming this year.
What samsung tv are you using? Thanks I love your videos!
Welcome to the club and thanks for the heads up on some features I didn’t know about. 😊
Only issue I am having is my Apple TV 4K remote isn’t connecting to my sky glass when it comes to the up down and mute volume buttons and it’s driving me insane. Any help?
I’ve been using Apple TV from the beginning and really enjoy it. But thank you for the great tip about the color calibration. Please do more videos about Apple TV pro tips may be going to detail about how you got your shades to close I’m not super technical, lol
Does it gonna make any difference in picture quality?? Most likely in frame rates 🤔
Is there a tutorial video available demonstrating the process of adding an additional Apple TV to a household that already has one using the same account as the first Apple TV?
Thanks for the really detailed and spot on reviews. I'm switching to Apple ecosystem since I bought Macbook Pro M1 in 2022, got iPhone pro and Airpods pro later that and waiting for Apple watch S9 and Airpods Max 2. I'm definitely buying apple TV 4K real soon. Can you play multiplayer games with 2 controllers on Apple TV?
I really like apple ecosystem but there is one thing that I couldn't figure out. when I wanna watch my videos from photo app ( my cloud library) video is middle of the screen and not taking entire screen like TH-cam or other video apps. when I record video from my car's dash cam or any camera and add it to my iCloud library and watch from Apple TV I can watch full screen. Do you or anyone knows why or is there any setting that we can change?
I currently have a chrome cast with google tv hd with a old 24 inch 1080p Sony tv and I’m wondering if I should get an Apple TV and this really helped
Can you airplay your macbook on the it with good quality?
I agree with you Brandon the Apple TV is a very underrated awesome product.
I have two of the newest models and I update them every time a new model is released.
The picture quality is awesome - I have one connected to a 55 inch Panasonic OLED TV.
The other one is connected to a 65inch Sky Glass panel.
Not sure those are available in the US ?
Best
John
Good video. Do you thing apple home pods are better than soundbar
With my google tv I watch TH-cam together a lot. We both have our phones connected. But he has a android, can he still put TH-cam movies into the playlist?
It changed mine too.
Same lol
Apple is coooool
now I can see why! I was late 😅
