Awesome Vw Beetle 1303s

- This is my 1973 beetle, it's a 1303s, it took 3 and a half years to restore it, every single bolt was checked, original engine, full leather interior, power steering, original ATS Cup rims, electric windows, LED lights, and much more, check it out!!
Beautiful bug...I bought my first one on 1972. And had 4 more after that..wonderful little cars.

Yep. My hubby and I own 17 last count. 6 finished, the rest in various stages of undress. 15 trucks 2 and 3 doors. 16 vans. 6 of which are 21 window. All in doors. 5 4wd camper vans. Do you think we like vw?

You have done a beautiful marvelous work on it ! And the result is up to your own investment !
My part only is to preserve the original aspect and destination (= economy, simplicity and fiability). Those things are realy important to me !

Nice car, I just bought a -73 1303S also, only runs on 3 cylinders atm. but just got painted red, darkened windows in back and with a theme of black and red :)

Thank you. It is Porsche Speed Yellow and it came from Hawaii to California to Virginia where I bought it. Honolulu beach club parking sticker and state inspection sticker is on the bumper ! I should find out if it was sold first in Hawaii, you know spend 100 euros and find out what records are available.

Great Job. The interior is killer. I liked it all but the door pulls. Outside was beautiful. I have a 73 super my father and I restored. Loved the turn signals. I shaved mine as well but put them on the front bumper. We have a 2180 we are finishing. Need a stronger trans as well. Only needs money to finish. I went with light gray on the paint and older fenders on the rear. I hate the 1303s big tail lights. DOT is not crazy about specifics in Texas. Thanks for posting!

Nice vedub I love the 1302 & 1303's. the interior is especially clean. I'll use yours as a template for my next beetle. but for now I'm working on a karmann ghia

Good-looking car. I like the center console. The before photo didn't look too bad. By the way, at the end, you've got the words "Before" and "After" under the wrong photos. :-)

OMG I used to have a Kenwood head unit like that on my bug too. Lost it when water made its way through the hood edges and poured itself into the device.

@shogunballa14 The wheels have spacers(1 cm thick), the front wheels cover were widened 5 cm and the rear wheels cover were widened 3 cm.
You mixed up your before and after labels at the end. Love the dashboard!

asi salio el vocho estadounidense con ese tablero y con ese diseño de la parte delantera muy distinta ,ademas que tiene otra suspension delantera a la del vocho que conocemos esos vochos si mal no recuerdo traen resortes adelante no traen la barra torsion saludos desde mty
Yes you are right, i said they were "original" because they are very used in VW cars, and a few models have those rims as stock!

yeah i SOMEHOW got a 1971 autostick 1302 to 95mph (off the clock) with the stock single port motor too. did take a while mind you.

Olha o interior foi todo forrado a pele preta e laranja, inclusive o tablier, os bancos de trás são os originais, os da frente são de um opel e a consola central é de um rover, e é só! O resto é tudo original!

How did you go about doing the center console? Does it go all the way to the back of the E-brake? If you could post some photos of the center console I would be very grateful.

@dblasnine Thanks, and the interior guy is a friend, he is from Portugal and so am I.
I like it a lot. The side exhaust however does not do it a favor, it looks weird. The engine would be even nicer with a dual carburator set-up.

The speedo marks 160km/h, but the marker passed 160, so i assumed it was about 170 km/h! I'll make a video some day, but the engine parts are original, except for the air filter!
