    I was given a safe about eight years ago. It has been collecting dust in the corner ever since. I came across your videos and was inspired to give it a go. SUCCESS! A few false starts, but after about 16 hours over two weekends I’m in! Thanks.

      Keep the faith, giving up surely won't get it open. I hope you've gotten it open by now.

    I have 2 filing cabinets with S&G acorn dials that are very gummy. Is there a way to make them more smooth? Still trying to get into them. Want a challenge? I'm in Northern Virginia.

    I purchased a Maximum Security Corp. Corporate securtiy safe from an estate sale. owner had the keys but not the combination. Safe is older (30 years old) 59" tall, 30' wide and deep' IN EXCELENT SHAPE. Mfgr. of the safe is Korean and no l;onger make their safes now. I was told it has a Japanese version of the combination lock. I want to use your method to open the lock, locksmiths here want to drill. Do you know if the Japanese version operates in the same manner like the S&G. I live in Durant, OK and wonder if there is anyone who uses your technique. Thanks

    Thanks for the videos. I have a quick question. Do you have a video on complete disassembly & reassembly of an S&G 6700 series lock? I need to switch the bolt on one to a longer bolt from the old lock and I'm not sure how tight the screw that goes into the arm/bolt should be. I imagine if it's too tight it will it will cause issues. (Based on the old Diebold lock I have that I have to re-use the bolt from.)

      I usually look on eBay for them, they pop up from time to time usually around or under $50. Of course, there's always some available for more but I do suggest waiting until a used one goes up for sale. You can also just contact a local locksmith but that will be more expensive for sure. Good luck!

    This is a really cool series. Thanks for taking the time to post it. Would you happen to know if this method would work on a much older safe, like a Herring Hall Marvin?

    • @lockmanipulator
      @lockmanipulator  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most likely not. I'm not too sure what type of lock is on there but I would think because of it's age, it would be a friction fence/indirect drive/etc. Can you feel 2 contact points when spinning the dial? Or only 1 contact point and only when spinning in one direction? If the latter, then it definitely won't work. If the first, then there's a chance it will.

    Where did you get the stand to mount your practice lock on?

      I just googled safe lock practice mount. There's a few companies that sell them and they can show up on ebay too occasionally.

    you should turn the dial towards the screen so that the viewer can easily understand
