      Makes perfect sense. I considered keeping this as a track bike but a.) it deserves to be out on the street with the CA plate b.) I'm much slower on two-strokes vs. four-strokes on the track. That's why I'm so impressed with Olly when he flies around all of us on his RS125 and TZ250.
      And you're right: they look amazing!

    It’s not slow pulling off you just need to give it way more revs , get it in that band and try keep it there , that’s the fun

      Yup, he has no clue how to ride motorcycles, or at least has no clue what he's talking about. Trying to dump the clutch at idle and only then start feeding it some power...? Ridiculous. This is what happens in a country where the majority do everything just by buying stuff and going for it, with no training or education at all. Actually he does take off properly many times in the video so I have no clue what he's talking about.
      He also complains about how hard it is for him to change gears, so who knows what goes on in his head... I guess come people just have their own hindrances and challenges to overcome, which don't affect normal, healthy people.

      Rev it to 7000 rpm and play with the clutch to keep the rpm above 7000 and it will be a rocket.. Used to start off with my first bike back in 90’s, it was a yamaha rd350 lc 31k. Very similar thing with a bit more power but also with powervalve. If you check the acceleratin 0-60 it is quite good, much better than ordinary car’s even modern ones but you have to understand the 2 stroke to reach good times..

      @@MaverickM1 yeah rs 125 had such a good clutch it was like it was designed to be slipped to 10k and it would stick there til you hit 11 then change to second and I timed to 60 between 5-6 seconds and I was 13 stone at the time.

      It's not just the oil being burnt but the type of oil. Most wouldn't know the beauty of castor oil mixed in fuel being burnt. It's even better the synthetic esters.

    Nice and clean example 👌
    The shift light will reset to 6 every time the battery is disconnected.
    Press C button to set it where you prefer it 🏁
    D button to select clock, and lap timer button to select hour/minutes
    And more RPM and clutch work at take-off will get you moving off the lights properly 😉
    You're right in saying being used to bigger capacity 4 strokes makes us lazy. These bikes need enthusiastic high RPM!

    HI! I'm a big fan of Iconic, from the Philippines! I happen to work for an Aprilia Dealership here! I love your bikes (anything 80's and 90's)! My dream is to apply for a job at Iconic, once I migrate back there in the future! Please make a lot of videos like this, if you have time. All your awesome bikes deserve to be featured in this manner (riding it up to the canyons, daily riding them at work, etc). seeing them get ridden is another "plus" factor for a fan, and a fellow old-school chap like myself!
    Cheers from Manila, Philippines,
    Paolo

    Took me back! My first “big” bike: it was originally meant to be a Bandit 600 in 2001 but the sales staff ignored me so I went next door and got the Aprilia.
    The shift light used to reset when the battery died (all the time) but dead easy to reset. Engine cases still even say Suzuki!

    such a beautiful bike . I had a NSR in mint condition and totally regret selling it. Pity today that there is so much greed amongst sellers. You must be crazy ( personal opinion) to spend £10k - £15k for effectively a 25 year old bike . I get the nostalgia and going back to ones youth but there's no ways i would spend that kind of money today. Especially as if I owned one again id ride it and anyone who knows anything about these bikes.. They break . And when they do they cost thousands .

    Had a zx7r.... Great for distance but missed the fun light little bikes have. So sold the barge and brought a 95, rs250, love it, I'm not selling it. One full engine rebuild, one top end. Nothing below 6000rpm. Starts at 8 to 12000rpm. Warm it up first. This sounds like a 4t rider has brought the wrong bike. Slip the clutch!!!!! Use the revs it's not a 4t moped. Keep it on the boil and it flys.

    @pistonburner6448 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It was a good idea for you to sell that bike, as you don't know how to use a clutch. Why were you avoiding "slipping the clutch"? That's how you get going in 1st gear in all motorcycles, manual gearbox cars...! You're not supposed to just dump the clutch at idle and only then start giving it gas! You even take off properly many times in the video with no issues, so I have no clue why you claimed it's difficult or slow to take off.

    • @EastCoastOZSMEnduro
      @EastCoastOZSMEnduro 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You obviously haven't used this clutch before. Your right he should be letting it slip when it engages immediately but clutch plates aren't always smooth in how they grab. Some bikes just are like that. My it250 83 had a real grabby clutch it will slip for the first 1/4 or less of the throw n when you released to halfway and be fully engaged before the lever is completely extended further it would suddenly start to up to fully engage making it a grabby clutch it never changed. Each bike is different. Every bike comes with its own characteristics and the longer you ride each bike the smoother it ends up being even if it's a grabby clutch technique changes to the clutch), if someone tests your bike or you will sell it n it will seem like the guy riding it is an amateur. Thats how you know it's a grabby clutch and rubbing the steel plates on concrete won't work since the meat has already been stripped it's only if you aren't getting the plates to grab, you rub them on concrete. The engagement is only fixed by replacing the entire basket of plates or just the steel plates every second service. They will feel like a quicker/tighter throw after servicing them since the discs are thicker and fill up the spaces in between. Sometimes you will need to adjust the lever so it doesn't have a dragging clutch.
