On the one hand, I'm disappointed that we haven't gotten a chance to fight a Gravemind yet. On the other, with the entire point of the Flood being that once a Gravemind exists, 'victory' is a sick joke, it would have to be Dark Souls style dodge-fest using the thrusters and grappleshot from Infinite avoiding tentacles for over an hour just to get to a scripted defeat scene after getting a few satisfying-looking explosive attacks in that nevertheless look like papercuts in the post-boss cinematic.
Two things that contrive to make the gravemind even scarier. 1. The gravemind speaks in rhyming poetry. It isn't just talking weirdly; it is verbally styling on Chief, Arby, and Cortana. Partly just because it can, partly to show its superiority. 2. In the remake, you can hear it speak in different voices simultaneously. One of them is a child.
The various evolutions of Metroids in Metroid: Samus Returns. In particular, the Metroid Queen was particularly horrendous, and the fact that rolling down her throat to plant a super bomb went from "monochrome 8-bit that you see from the outside" to "modern 3D shown from Samus' viewpoint" (not to mention going from optional to mandatory in the remake) is going to haunt my memories for years.
Honestly that whole sequence and the following gameplay where you were allied with the flood were so good. Like, how can you not like being able to team up with an eldritch plague in order to prevent the annihilation of all life?

Kirby's stomach is an alternate dimension, since Kirby theoretically ate a star in a game, meaning his stomach would have to be the size of a whole dimension to do that, whilst holding shape. also Mr. X is confirmed to be 7'3", he is a behemoth.

Gravemind finally makes sense because in the original version of 2 it looked like a giant plant now it more resembles what it actually is a hive mind made up of victims of the Flood. In Halo one you see a proto Gravemind and you actually talk to a person that is a part of it.

Just because he should get more “love”, Gray Fox. The actual fight was the same in The Twin Snakes, but the cutscenes he’s in before that fight have changed to more clearly establish that you are no threat to him.
Maybe it’s just me, but that new version of the Gonarch fight looks awesome, especially the music. It really feels like Gordon is desperately fighting for the fate of all humanity.

The scariest thing about Gyorg was that they blatantly slapped a huge eyeball onto him which doesn't make sense either since he already has two eyes, just because they thought "Hey, remember the generally shitty boss design of Skyward Sword? Fuck the flood. I remember it vividly to this day when I was like 10-11 years old and stayed over my bestfrienda house to play halo 2 and we were at the flood part of the campaign and I was running around shooting until I turned around to have a flood zombie standing literally in my face staring at me. I almost shit my pants and got so scared I jumped off the ledge and killed myself. I'm 27 years old and that shit still gets me to this day.

Mere days ago, I discovered this channel. Around that time I was debating whether I should platinum FFVII REMAKE, or run through all of Halo before playing infinite. Mere hours ago I met the Gravemind and decided I needed a break after that creepy cutscene... And here I am watching this video... I could have gone without that cutscene again thanks.
The Jenova fight was my favorite gaming moment of 2020, and Act 3 of that fight was one of my favorite gaming moments of all time. When the original theme kicks in I get goosebumps. Never been more pumped for a fight in my life.
Nintendo's obsession with putting eyes where they don't belong and then making you attack them is a long and storied one. Someone get those guys some therapy.

The scariest part about Gonarch is new music before, during and after encounter with her. It is like: you played the original, you know she is coming at some point, and you hear progressively scarier music. Also after killing her Nihilanth whispering at you "...what have you done..."
And this is why I'd love to see remasters of the first four Phantasy Star Games: Mother Brain, Dark Force (several) and The Profound Darkness. Would love to see updates of these cosmic horrors.

Actually, yes. The overcoats for Mr. X and Nemesis were specially designed and manufactured to inhibit the Tyrant's strength and ability to mutate.

@@Amaritudine The fish don't breed their eggs in their stomachs. The fertilizes fish eggs are kept in the fish's mouth (male, female or both parents, depending on the species), holding onto them until they hatch. No feeding until the eggs hatch!
In some cases the parent does extend protection to mobile juveniles. They have behavioural cues to tell fry swimming and feeding away from the parent that danger is approaching and that they should return to their parent's mouth. By caring for their offspring in this way, mouthbrooding fish are able to produce smaller numbers of offspring with a higher chance of survival than species that offer no broodcare.

I think my least favorite thing about The Great Mighty Poo remake is that the texture on the front of him straight up looks like they used a picture of the underside of a tongue and just recolored it brown. That's somehow more horrible, to me, than everything else combined.
The only thing I don't like about the remake is that they censored the heck out of it! They weren't afraid to use those words on a NINTENDO console, but on Xbox I guess it's too edgy for them.
regarding luke's dread about kirby... death battle did a video on that. it's an entire other dimension, and kirby can devour anything inside it to gain their powers for a short time.

The scariest thing about Gyorg was that they blatantly slapped a huge eyeball onto him which doesn't make sense either since he already has two eyes, just because they thought "Hey, remember the generally shitty boss design of Skyward Sword? Yeah let's ruin a masterpiece with that." But hey, Nintendo is untouchable, noone but me complains about them or their price and DLC politics which make EA look like a joke.

I remember it vividly to this day when I was like 10-11 years old and stayed over my bestfrienda house to play halo 2 and we were at the flood part of the campaign and I was running around shooting until I turned around to have a flood zombie standing literally in my face staring at me. I almost shit my pants and got so scared I jumped off the ledge and killed myself. I'm 27 years old and that shit still gets me to this day.

Mere days ago, I discovered this channel. Around that time I was debating whether I should platinum FFVII REMAKE, or run through all of Halo before playing infinite. Mere hours ago I met the Gravemind and decided I needed a break after that creepy cutscene... And here I am watching this video... I could have gone without that cutscene again thanks.

The Jenova fight was my favorite gaming moment of 2020, and Act 3 of that fight was one of my favorite gaming moments of all time. When the original theme kicks in I get goosebumps. Never been more pumped for a fight in my life.

When I first saw the broodmother I was taken aback by it, promptly killed by it, and then wondered what the fuck did I just witness.
The scariest part about Gonarch is new music before, during and after encounter with her.
It is like: you played the original, you know she is coming at some point, and you hear progressively scarier music.
Also after killing her Nihilanth whispering at you "...what have you done..."
Not a boss but the hunter's in resident evil 3 got way more terrifying in the remake.
And this is why I'd love to see remasters of the first four Phantasy Star Games: Mother Brain, Dark Force (several) and The Profound Darkness. Would love to see updates of these cosmic horrors.
