  • Are you drowning in information overload? Is your inbox a leviathan full of gremlins? Do you disappear down a rabbit hole of social media just when you need to focus?
The London Talks team kicked off 2019 off with the aim of helping you worry less and achieve more. Productivity expert Graham Allcott joined us to discuss how to work smarter, manage projects with aplomb, and tame your inbox.
    ** About the book **
Help is at hand with the unique tools in this book: a mindset of Zen-Like Calm, Ruthlessness, Weapon-savviness, Stealth and Camouflage, Unorthodoxy, Agility, Mindfulness and Preparedness. How to be a Productivity Ninja will give you the skills to work smarter, manage projects with aplomb, tame your inbox - and it will even make you laugh.
Best of all, to be a Productivity Ninja you don’t have to become a superhero (although these tools, applied, can sometimes give people the impression that you are). And when it comes to your smartphone, with the insights in this book you can, well, outsmart it.
Author Graham Allcott developed these tools to deal with his own overwhelm as head of a small non-profit organisation. Since 2009 he has taught time-keeping to the Swiss, efficiency to the Germans, Zen to a Japanese bank and Microsoft Outlook to the Bill and Melissa Gates foundation. Tens of thousands of people have used the systems in his book and found themselves worrying less, getting more done, and enjoying their work again.
This new edition is completely updated to include all the latest technological innovations (and potential time wasters).

Love it that he just references Malala Yousafzai by her first name only. She was in the public consciousness a LOT four years ago, but still!

If mindfulness is noticing your thoughts, what do you call noticing yourself noticing your thoughts? Is that mindoverfulness?

The (great) meditation book "The Mind Illuminated" calls this "Metacognitive introspective awareness". Being aware of the contents and state of the mind as a whole. Just being aware of thoughts is called "introspective awareness" (without the metacognitive)

I haven’t heard the myth about vegans being required to supplement BCAAs yet. Where is the data to back this claim? I don’t take any supplements so I want to look into this matter and find out why I’m not dead yet, why all my gut issues cleared up after just a few weeks of being vegan, and why after a year and a half my energy levels are through the roof and I’ve never been happier or healthier.

@@zombiechris4813 For real, if you're vegan, and you're not supplementing anything, then you will definitely want to start supplementing as soon as you can. At the very minimum, you need to supplement B12 as a vegan. You may want to look into an Omega3 supplement to make sure you're getting EPA and DHA (ALA is easily found on a vegan diet, but beyond algae, DHA and EPA aren't found in the plant kingdom).
I'm glad to hear you've felt happier and healthier on a vegan diet, but at the very least, you do need to supplement B12.

@jigga jaw That's false. All BCAAs are found in the plant kingdom. The three BCAAs are leucine, isoleucine, and valine. All 9 essential amino acids (including the three just mentioned) are found in plants.

@jigga jaw I didn't look it up because it's irrelevant to BCAAs. Why would their teeth fall out from lack of BCAAs? There could be many reasons why people's teeth fall out, including an inadequate protein intake, but as long as a vegan is getting enough protein, then there's no problem with BCAAs simply because vegans can get all of their BCAAs.
Also, did I say that everything you need can come from plants?
Did I say that veganism is a magic bullet for the perfect diet? I never said either of those things. As a matter of fact, I left a comment here saying that vegans should supplement at the very least B12.

Why do anyone would be interested to become a ninja (negative) productive employee ?
Should this be an productivity anti information talk to increase your productivities problems and messing up with your & others time or messing up with your employer to quit you forever & force you building your own company as you will never be hired anywhere in future ?
Perhaps talk with your labor union before acting along these information talk.
I confirmed my very negative image of "ninja" (fighter/ spion) looking up in wikipedia.
