Your a brave man trying to cover these topic as it is very different for each individual case. So everyone please be kind in your comments to the chocolate man he is trying his best to explain a very difficult Thailand system.
This was an awesome video. Your previous Tik Tok video helping you get a drivers license was great and super helpful.. but this one answered some great questions!!!! Much appreciated. Curtis in Las Vegas
Very important: keep the 800k for 3 months after and 2 months before. Not go down below 400 in between. The ladies are wrong. Do not withdraw the money right after the visa
I’m in Surin and on a retirement visa. Mike is correct from what I know 2 months before and 3 months after. I inadvertently dropped to 796k for one day while I was waiting for money to be transferred from Australia. They refused my visa application and they looked after me by giving me 2 two 30 day tourist visa to reapply.
Hi James 👋 Was watching another vloger and thought of you because of his content. I saw your notification so I took it as a sign 😮 Karl's Thailand is his channel and you may already know of him but I thought you two could make a great collaboration 👍 Just a thought friend 😉
Thanks million, Very helpful info. I do have a Question regarding to retirement Visa bank deposit...If the parson die WHERE THE BANK DEPOSIT MONEY GOSE TO ? Can any one in my family members in United States can get bank deposit money back ?? If any one know ..... Please guide me.
You will need a separate Thai will for all of your assets in Thailand including bank accounts. You will need an executor for the will. Nothing will be automated as far as what happens to your bank accounts. See a Thai lawyer to draft the will.
All that info for sticky rice and mango, I'm thinking next visit throw in a couple of Chocolate Man.t-shirts 555. Lots of info there James and I'm sure, helpful for some.
So, if I did my math right, estimated 26k USD need to be in a Thai Bank when you apply for a retirement visa then you must keep a balance of 13k USD in a Thai Bank after 2 - 3months?
COE is still required but Fit To Fly form no longer is. Agree with other comment that 800K should be in account few months on both ends of annual renewal but as you asked, James - it may be different at the Province level. Regardless, that shouldn't be an issue either way. It's a simple concept. Thai Gov wants proof that one is financially viable as I'm sure they've gotten stuck supporting non-Thai who cannot support themselves. Thanks, James!
Ha ha, I could tell that you knew the answer to the questions already Mr chocolate man. You were coaxing the girls until they give the desired and correct answer !
I had two Thai bank accounts. The first with 800,000 Bht. The balance never changed so less paperwork. The second account for normal transactions .I was not prepared to give any financial information about my lifestyle and how much money flowed in and out. The immigration system is hostile to visitors. Keep 400,000 all year, maybe next year 800,000 and then deposit 800,000 with Thai government, refundable when leaving, or later or never. Can you please find a replacement travel buddy?
