In my humble opinion, Shaykh Imran is right to stress the importance for the followers of Prophet Muhammad to seek guidance primarily from the Qur'an to seek the truth concerning Dhulqarnayn. Allah has reminded us that "a party of them (the Jewish Rabbis), used to hear the word of Allah (in the Taurah), then they used to change it knowingly after they understood it." (al-Baqarah: 75). Al-Qur'an is The Criterion (al-Furqan) and those who follow Prophet Muhammad should use the Qur'an to differentiate truth from falsehood. I would like to suggest that the Jewish Rabbis have done the same thing on the story of Dhulqarnayn by mixing the truth in the scripture with falsehood written by them. Therefore the Jewish Rabbis thought that no one after them will know the truth about Dhulqarnayn as they felt they are the only one that should monopoly the truth. They asked Prophet Muhammad about Dhulqarnayn (Surah al-Kahf verse 83) to test him whether he is a true prophet of Allah who received direct revelation from Him and to see whether Prophet Muhammad could relate the true story about Dhulqarnayn which has been corrupted by them before. And Allah knows best.

@@SheikhImranHosein If I'm not wrong, the name Islam implies that whoever is in the deen should not impose their way of life on others. The evil forces, as well as people who don't understand the deen, have portrayed Islam as something we are obliged to enforce on all of humanity. We can preach the deen yes, but if someone does not want to follow that's their choice. However, when someone attacks us, we have to respond. And by making the towns and cities places of permanent residence - we endanger ourselves. Remote rural areas should've been our places of permanent residence, and whoever of us had the competence to do da'wa should have travelled to the towns and cities to try stop the attacks on Islam in order to prevent secular masses from misguidance. If then while exhausting our intellect in preaching the deen spiritual insight stopped coming down, it would be an indication to leave the people in the towns and cities and move back to our rural area.

Dhul Qarnain means two generations and that is 100 years. Here is he in the Surah Al Baqarah: أَوْ كَالَّذِي مَرَّ عَلَىٰ قَرْيَةٍ وَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَىٰ عُرُوشِهَا قَالَ أَنَّىٰ يُحْيِي هَٰذِهِ اللَّهُ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا ۖ فَأَمَاتَهُ اللَّهُ مِائَةَ عَامٍ ثُمَّ بَعَثَهُ ۖ قَالَ كَمْ لَبِثْتَ ۖ قَالَ لَبِثْتُ يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ ۖ قَالَ بَل لَّبِثْتَ مِائَةَ عَامٍ فَانظُرْ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِكَ وَشَرَابِكَ لَمْ يَتَسَنَّهْ ۖ وَانظُرْ إِلَىٰ حِمَارِكَ وَلِنَجْعَلَكَ آيَةً لِّلنَّاسِ ۖ وَانظُرْ إِلَى الْعِظَامِ كَيْفَ نُنشِزُهَا ثُمَّ نَكْسُوهَا لَحْمًا ۚ فَلَمَّا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُ قَالَ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ (259) is that wonderful? due to this مِائَةَ عَامٍ Almighty God called him Dhul Qarnain. There is no doubt that the Quran can be explained from the Quran itself.

Every soul will taste death without exception. The Lord God had sent Prophet, Messenger & Messiah Isa Ibn Mariam [Jesus] Alayhi Wa Sallam in this lowly earth as a human [flesh & blood in all respect] and assigned him with a noble mission to spiritually reform the Israelites. Unfortunately, majority of Israelites especially those who had the control of Masjid Al Aska [Temple of Solomon] not only outright refused to accept him as Prophet, Messenger & Messiah they also brought allegation of fornication against his pious & upright mother Virgin Mariam Alayhi Wa Sallam. Isa Ibn Mariam [Jesus] Alayhi Wa Sallam ably aided by Ruh Ul Qudus [Angel Jibreel] left no stone unturned to preach & reform but failed to win the hearts & mind of his own religious community [Israelites]. On the contrary, the Israelites secretly planned & plotted to get rid of him and convicted guilty on account of blasphemy. The wickedness of the Israelites led to sinfulness to eventually crucify him on the cross. In order to save the honour & dignity of Isa Ibn Mariam [Jesus] Alayhi Wa Sallam, the Lord God Allah destroyed the evil plot of Israelites and caused him to ascend alive into parallel universe of time & space [not heaven] physically. When the decree of Lord God come to pass, Isa Ibn Mariam [Jesus] Alayhi Wa Sallam will descend from parallel universe and complete his earthly mission, as assigned and will die as normal human being. He will be buried in Madina next to our holy Prophet Sallalahu Alayhi Wa Sallam and the Muslims will perform funeral prayer over his body. The sect of Israelites who are known & referred as ‘Orthodox Christians’ will rule from Jerusalem and will be in a position of dominance over the other sect of Israelites who are known & referred as “Jews” until the last hour.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم (163) - وَاسْأَلْهُمْ عَنِ الْقَرْيَةِ الَّتِي كَانَتْ حَاضِرَةَ الْبَحْرِ إِذْ يَعْدُونَ فِي السَّبْتِ إِذْ تَأْتِيهِمْ حِيتَانُهُمْ يَوْمَ سَبْتِهِمْ شُرَّعًا وَيَوْمَ لَا يَسْبِتُونَ ۙ لَا تَأْتِيهِمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَبْلُوهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْسُقُونَ And ask them about the town that was by the sea - when they transgressed in [the matter of] the sabbath - when their fish came to them openly on their sabbath day, and the day they had no sabbath they did not come to them. Thus did We give them trial because they were defiantly disobedient. (164) - وَإِذْ قَالَتْ أُمَّةٌ مِنْهُمْ لِمَ تَعِظُونَ قَوْمًا ۙ اللَّهُ مُهْلِكُهُمْ أَوْ مُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا ۖ قَالُوا مَعْذِرَةً إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ And when a community among them said, "Why do you advise [or warn] a people whom Allah is [about] to destroy or to punish with a severe punishment?" they [the advisors] said, "To be absolved before your Lord and perhaps they may fear Him." (165) - فَلَمَّا نَسُوا مَا ذُكِّرُوا بِهِ أَنْجَيْنَا الَّذِينَ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ السُّوءِ وَأَخَذْنَا الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا بِعَذَابٍ بَئِيسٍ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْسُقُونَ And when they forgot that by which they had been reminded, We saved those who had forbidden evil and seized those who wronged, with a wretched punishment, because they were defiantly disobeying. (166) - فَلَمَّا عَتَوْا عَنْ مَا نُهُوا عَنْهُ قُلْنَا لَهُمْ كُونُوا قِرَدَةً خَاسِئِينَ So when they were insolent about that which they had been forbidden, We said to them, "Be apes, despised." (167) - وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكَ لَيَبْعَثَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ مَنْ يَسُومُهُمْ سُوءَ الْعَذَابِ ۗ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَسَرِيعُ الْعِقَابِ ۖ وَإِنَّهُ لَغَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ And [mention] when your Lord declared that He would surely [continue to] send upon them until the Day of Resurrection those who would afflict them with the worst torment. Indeed, your Lord is swift in penalty; but indeed, He is Forgiving and Merciful. (168) - وَقَطَّعْنَاهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ أُمَمًا ۖ مِنْهُمُ الصَّالِحُونَ وَمِنْهُمْ دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَبَلَوْنَاهُمْ بِالْحَسَنَاتِ وَالسَّيِّئَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ And We divided them throughout the earth into nations. Of them some were righteous, and of them some were otherwise. And We tested them with good [times] and bad that perhaps they would return [to obedience].
Quran is a miracle and the verses concerning Dhul Qarnayn prove it. According to verses 89-91 Dhul Qarnayn says: "Give me pieces (blocks) of iron;” then, when he had filled up the gap between the two mountain-cliffs, he said: “Blow;” then when he had made them (red as) fire, he said: “Bring me molten copper to pour over them.” This method of tying blocks of stone together with molten metal staples was exclusive to the 6th Century BCE Persians. Blocks of stone with indentations for pouring the metal staples are found in the construction of Cyrus the Great's tomb at Pasargadae.

In my humble opinion, Shaykh Imran is right to stress the importance for the followers of Prophet Muhammad to seek guidance primarily from the Qur'an to seek the truth concerning Dhulqarnayn. Allah has reminded us that "a party of them (the Jewish Rabbis), used to hear the word of Allah (in the Taurah), then they used to change it knowingly after they understood it." (al-Baqarah: 75). Al-Qur'an is The Criterion (al-Furqan) and those who follow Prophet Muhammad should use the Qur'an to differentiate truth from falsehood.
I would like to suggest that the Jewish Rabbis have done the same thing on the story of Dhulqarnayn by mixing the truth in the scripture with falsehood written by them. Therefore the Jewish Rabbis thought that no one after them will know the truth about Dhulqarnayn as they felt they are the only one that should monopoly the truth. They asked Prophet Muhammad about Dhulqarnayn (Surah al-Kahf verse 83) to test him whether he is a true prophet of Allah who received direct revelation from Him and to see whether Prophet Muhammad could relate the true story about Dhulqarnayn which has been corrupted by them before.
And Allah knows best.

The evil forces, as well as people who don't understand the deen, have portrayed Islam as something we are obliged to enforce on all of humanity. We can preach the deen yes, but if someone does not want to follow that's their choice. However, when someone attacks us, we have to respond. And by making the towns and cities places of permanent residence - we endanger ourselves. Remote rural areas should've been our places of permanent residence, and whoever of us had the competence to do da'wa should have travelled to the towns and cities to try stop the attacks on Islam in order to prevent secular masses from misguidance. Dhul Qarnain means two generations and that is 100 years. Here is he in the Surah Al Baqarah:
أَوْ كَالَّذِي مَرَّ عَلَىٰ قَرْيَةٍ وَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَىٰ عُرُوشِهَا قَالَ أَنَّىٰ يُحْيِي هَٰذِهِ اللَّهُ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا ۖ فَأَمَاتَهُ اللَّهُ مِائَةَ عَامٍ ثُمَّ بَعَثَهُ ۖ قَالَ كَمْ لَبِثْتَ ۖ قَالَ لَبِثْتُ يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ ۖ قَالَ بَل لَّبِثْتَ مِائَةَ عَامٍ فَانظُرْ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِكَ وَشَرَابِكَ لَمْ يَتَسَنَّهْ ۖ وَانظُرْ إِلَىٰ حِمَارِكَ وَلِنَجْعَلَكَ آيَةً لِّلنَّاسِ ۖ وَانظُرْ إِلَى الْعِظَامِ كَيْفَ نُنشِزُهَا ثُمَّ نَكْسُوهَا لَحْمًا ۚ فَلَمَّا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُ قَالَ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ (259)
is that wonderful? due to this مِائَةَ عَامٍ Almighty God called him Dhul Qarnain. There is no doubt that the Quran can be explained from the Quran itself.

Every soul will taste death without exception.
The Lord God had sent Prophet, Messenger & Messiah Isa Ibn Mariam [Jesus] Alayhi Wa Sallam in this lowly earth as a human [flesh & blood in all respect] and assigned him with a noble mission to spiritually reform the Israelites.
Unfortunately, majority of Israelites especially those who had the control of Masjid Al Aska [Temple of Solomon] not only outright refused to accept him as Prophet, Messenger & Messiah they also brought allegation of fornication against his pious & upright mother Virgin Mariam Alayhi Wa Sallam.
Isa Ibn Mariam [Jesus] Alayhi Wa Sallam ably aided by Ruh Ul Qudus [Angel Jibreel] left no stone unturned to preach & reform but failed to win the hearts & mind of his own religious community [Israelites]. On the contrary, the Israelites secretly planned & plotted to get rid of him and convicted guilty on account of blasphemy. The wickedness of the Israelites led to sinfulness to eventually crucify him on the cross.
In order to save the honour & dignity of Isa Ibn Mariam [Jesus] Alayhi Wa Sallam, the Lord God Allah destroyed the evil plot of Israelites and caused him to ascend alive into parallel universe of time & space [not heaven] physically.
When the decree of Lord God come to pass, Isa Ibn Mariam [Jesus] Alayhi Wa Sallam will descend from parallel universe and complete his earthly mission, as assigned and will die as normal human being.
He will be buried in Madina next to our holy Prophet Sallalahu Alayhi Wa Sallam and the Muslims will perform funeral prayer over his body.
The sect of Israelites who are known & referred as ‘Orthodox Christians’ will rule from Jerusalem and will be in a position of dominance over the other sect of Israelites who are known & referred as “Jews” until the last hour.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
(163) - وَاسْأَلْهُمْ عَنِ الْقَرْيَةِ الَّتِي كَانَتْ حَاضِرَةَ الْبَحْرِ إِذْ يَعْدُونَ فِي السَّبْتِ إِذْ تَأْتِيهِمْ حِيتَانُهُمْ يَوْمَ سَبْتِهِمْ شُرَّعًا وَيَوْمَ لَا يَسْبِتُونَ ۙ لَا تَأْتِيهِمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَبْلُوهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْسُقُونَ
And ask them about the town that was by the sea - when they transgressed in [the matter of] the sabbath - when their fish came to them openly on their sabbath day, and the day they had no sabbath they did not come to them. Thus did We give them trial because they were defiantly disobedient.
(164) - وَإِذْ قَالَتْ أُمَّةٌ مِنْهُمْ لِمَ تَعِظُونَ قَوْمًا ۙ اللَّهُ مُهْلِكُهُمْ أَوْ مُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا ۖ قَالُوا مَعْذِرَةً إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ
And when a community among them said, "Why do you advise [or warn] a people whom Allah is [about] to destroy or to punish with a severe punishment?" they [the advisors] said, "To be absolved before your Lord and perhaps they may fear Him."
(165) - فَلَمَّا نَسُوا مَا ذُكِّرُوا بِهِ أَنْجَيْنَا الَّذِينَ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ السُّوءِ وَأَخَذْنَا الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا بِعَذَابٍ بَئِيسٍ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْسُقُونَ
And when they forgot that by which they had been reminded, We saved those who had forbidden evil and seized those who wronged, with a wretched punishment, because they were defiantly disobeying.
(166) - فَلَمَّا عَتَوْا عَنْ مَا نُهُوا عَنْهُ قُلْنَا لَهُمْ كُونُوا قِرَدَةً خَاسِئِينَ
So when they were insolent about that which they had been forbidden, We said to them, "Be apes, despised."
(167) - وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكَ لَيَبْعَثَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ مَنْ يَسُومُهُمْ سُوءَ الْعَذَابِ ۗ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَسَرِيعُ الْعِقَابِ ۖ وَإِنَّهُ لَغَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ
And [mention] when your Lord declared that He would surely [continue to] send upon them until the Day of Resurrection those who would afflict them with the worst torment. Indeed, your Lord is swift in penalty; but indeed, He is Forgiving and Merciful.
(168) - وَقَطَّعْنَاهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ أُمَمًا ۖ مِنْهُمُ الصَّالِحُونَ وَمِنْهُمْ دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَبَلَوْنَاهُمْ بِالْحَسَنَاتِ وَالسَّيِّئَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
And We divided them throughout the earth into nations. Of them some were righteous, and of them some were otherwise. And We tested them with good [times] and bad that perhaps they would return [to obedience].

Quran is a miracle and the verses concerning Dhul Qarnayn prove it. According to verses 89-91 Dhul Qarnayn says: "Give me pieces (blocks) of iron;” then, when he had filled up the gap between the two mountain-cliffs, he said: “Blow;” then when he had made them (red as) fire, he said: “Bring me molten copper to pour over them.” This method of tying blocks of stone together with molten metal staples was exclusive to the 6th Century BCE Persians. Blocks of stone with indentations for pouring the metal staples are found in the construction of Cyrus the Great's tomb at Pasargadae.
