I was just thinking about Tropico 4 this morning. One of my favorite games of all time 4's political system kinda incentives you to not be a dictator, but if you want to be man all the options are there. Very good for RPing as a cold war dictator
"People can pay up to 1/3 of their income as rent." Wow, imagine if that were the case in the real world. People might actually be able to afford housing.
Wow I just remembered Tropico 4.. did a bit of reading of 5 and 6 but I really thought 4 fits me best when it comes to memories and whatnot.. glad to see this video where you agree, as well as the comments. I'm gonna download it now. Thanks for the wonderful flashbacks 😊
Always enjoyed the fact that this game is the fact the farming actively spread out into nearby free space for farming even across roads. Plus plantations.
Though it was a pain in the ass constantly trying to clear the shacks that would encroach on the farmland. Minor annoyance trying to polan your farming layout too, though it did have advantages in space usage.
I love the caricatures of 4! I think they've only gone downhill. i like how over stylized it was reminds me of those that you get in a beach tourist trap
@@orestriaDoes Civ 2 have "ranged attacks"? Cause I think I still have a migraine from the time my Civ 1 battleship bombarded a coastal Settler... and was sunk by it
I played so much of 3rd and 4th game, Tropico 5 dropped a lot in quality and really economy was broken along side resources political system was also utter trash, BUT with all its problems it was actually very good game. Now Tropico 3 and 4 had problems with gameplay in terms of resources and buildings however that didn't stop them from being two best games in the series, 3rd one is by far better of the two sole reason are missions, that were created with such care and precision that you couldn't skip or hate some of them, THEY were all perfect made scenarios, while Tropico 4 holds its place with new buildings, mechanics and customization, i would like for the mo either remake them or even better remake them inside the Tropico 6 which would i think put Tropico 6 in very strong position to be best game in the series because Tropico 6 only lacks in missions that have no soul besides like 5/6 of them, also tourism in Tropico 4 was best Tourism you'll ever find in Tropico games, Covid mission (maybe T3) and tourism missions in Tropico 4 were one of the best missions in the series. Tropico 6 is lacking so much, but it has Best Sandbox.
Man Tropico brings me lot of memories. Tropico 4 is also the best in my opinion, 5 and 6 are also good, 1 is the OG, still kinda good tough, 3 was kinda meh and 2 didn't exist 😂😂 ( jk, not a bad game but with a completely different flavour)

I agree. Tropico 4 has that very quirky, cartoonish humor to it. To this day I have never played anything which matched Tropico 4 in this sense.

Perfect time of year for a Tropico getaway. Unless you're in the southern hemisphere. But play it anyway, it's a lot of fun.

It just seems to be a thing in a lot of games. GTA IV was the best in the series there as well.
