Even if they do, adsense revenue is still a pillar of their income that without it, they may not be able to continue making videos. "being seen as a person instead of money to youtube"... okay? It is a measure they are implementing because adsense is the integral function which makes the platform successful for themselves and creators.

I used to watch ads until TH-cam got predatory with them, I never had a problem with it until double and unskippable ads began because I will NEVER click on an ad, ever, so there's literally zero point in me watching them. If a "majority of the content on youtube is user generated" then these users are really horrible at making and distributing ads that don't piss people off.
The unskippable, >30 second, back to back ads are the reason why I use ad blocker. I would not use anything if YT went back to 2010-2012 era. I have had ads longer than the main video itself. And it's more annoying on smart TV cuz it is harder to fetch the remote each time and manually scroll to the X button/skip button to start the actual video. Mind you, these are multiple minute ads! Entire music videos and shows show up as ads. Can be skipped after 30s, but if you don't skip, it keeps running for 30 minutes...
It's very annoying to watch 2 15 seconds commercials before you can watch a 3 minute music video. The balance is completely gone and that is why I use ad blocking

Yep. I started using it a week or two ago when this all kicked off. Very satisfying watching an ad being skipped 😎 I just turn my adblock off on you tube now, as suggested by tampermonkey.
Before doing this, when you get the YT popup coming up, click on the "Report issue" near the bottom and ask things like "Is an ad blocker any good?" Basically, put some fear into them.

From testing, if you reload after 5 seconds passed, it should get rid of it. If you get another one, you were going to get more than one anyways. At least this was working for me a week ago, but now I've been getting 3 ads per video, so I have to do something about it.
Perhaps content creators should turn TH-cam into a tiktok wannabe known as tiktube? Keep the content of the video so short that it wouldn't be worth the effort for Google to keep spamming the platform with advertisements.

Has anyone tried to click and drag the red playback line to the end and then replayed the video? This trick used to work back when TH-cam inserted tiny yellow lines indicating where in the video an ad would appear but now I'm not sure if it works anymore.

Please help, Is the remove TH-cam adblock thingy script getting updates? I've begun noticing that now TH-cam ad's is forcefully pulled through and the tamper monkey is glitching and beginning to fail blocking the ads. Now as I refresh my TH-cam page, the ads have returned. :/
It only works for the first video after you install, afterwards it glitches the browser to quickly go fullscreen to normal and it is black, nothing plays.
You should know that on a browser, TH-cam relies on cookies for this Anti-AdBlock. In private browsing, cookies are not saved. This requires you to re-authenticate each time you open TH-cam. So, leave the ad blocker and access TH-cam in “private browsing”!
It doesn't matter because the system checks wether or not you're using adblockers by detecting wether or not the ads are being given permission to run by whatever device ( phone, tablet, TV, PC etc.) Is accessing the site at any given time. Google has now had to go as far as updating their scripts once every 24 hours (perhaps even more frequently by now) just to stay one step ahead of the adblockers. The only way for this cat and mouse game to come to an end is for someone to file suit in federal court against TH-cam, Google and Google's parent company Alphabet Inc. They expect us to pay for a solution to a problem that THEY created when that's definitely not going to happen.
please help, i followed the install intructions and then turned on my adblocker to test if it works, and now the video is just a black screen on every video i tested it on (i have chrome and the AdGuard extension). How do I fix this so it'll block the ads and still let me watch videos?
Like someone said, I don't mind the ads in the beginning. It's the ones in the middle that I can't stand. I listen to a lot of music on here, so having an ad stop a song is really annoying. Or if I'm immersed in asmr, a loud ad pisses me off.

As of today this morning (11/8), youtube has apparently stopped detecting adblockers. I no longer the popups saying adblockers are not allowed. I have ADBPlus and ghostery installed in firefox.
I use chrome and I just disabled adblock+, added tampermonkey to extentions, enabled adblock+ and that seems to do the trick. I have had no popup for the same vid I was watching before adding tampermonkey. time will tell. Thanks for the tip. For a while at least you will be my golden goose :)
Working as of today November the 11th 2023 on Firefox.... had to delete all history, and basically reset all blockers and other ass-ons, but finally it is working, I am not experiencing delays of any type yet.

My only gripe with ads are the longer, unskippable ones. Any ad more than 5 seconds should be skippable.

It's very easy to block these warnings and get it on mobile. There is always an easy easy way to defeat this. Never give up.

I did it, and what happens is that it makes errors with the playback of the video. It basically skips the video and plays the next one.

Worked like a charm but since yesterday, every time it skips an ad, youtube pops up "my ad center" about the ad.

Adblock is not compatible with the script, turn it off while on youtube. or whitelist youtube in your adblock settings
Switch to vimeo...problem solved.
If you've a VPN, just use a server in Albania, Moldova, or Myanmar. TH-cam isn't allowed to show ads in those countries.

I saved this video so if youtube ever starts trying to block Ublock on opera I can go to this video and continue blocking ads :)

@@galaxygaming907 TH-cam updates their detection system to detect Ublock but Ublock always ends up updating within an hour or so to go right back to being undetected
@@galaxygaming907 I also use opera which has a built in adblocking system that runs alongside Ublock on my computer
