ooo, I love the Ursula reference I never thought of that before but I totally see it now. Just wanted to shout out that this is one of the only songs (i believe) that wasn't written by Lin-Manuel Miranda (who wrote all the music for Encanto and Hamilton). Jemaine Clement is known for injecting a very David Bowie vibe in his music. Just wanted to share if you didn't already know. Love your commentaries!
Yeah there are lot of references in this movie. Like the little Sven (Frozen) transformation that Maui did. But also how the Heart of Tafiti gave Shikon Jewel vibes (Inuyasha) in terms of it being sought after (for its power)
