Finally swapped my unit out, and it works great. Some instructions for A4 B7 to relearn door function on upgraded Fob: - unlock door with upgraded key - insert key into ignition and turn to 'on' position - close the door and roll window down as a precaution (escape) - press the 'unlock' button on the Fob - lock the door with the door button (not with Fob) - unlock the door with the door button (not with Fob) - remove your key from ignition Test it out to confirm

Torx T6 and T5 are the bit sizes you need

Yes, sometimes you will have to reprogram the remote. It can be done yourself, it's easy to do and there are videos showing how on TH-cam.
