An added benefit of the fibre core cable is that it soaks up oil. The Canadian Army taught me to pour the used motor oil from an oil change over my winch cable. With a drip pan under it, of course. Our cables were always rust free and flexible.
I’ve been running OptiLube XPD since I bought my truck, so far she runs smooth. Going to picked some of the Howe’s next time I’m out and try that in Deuce 2.
