I think Joe was the best ….his role as Rocco in days of the week is priceless 😂
The days of the week was awesome. Such silly characters like Candy's Dr. Wainwright and Mojo from Andrea Martin.
I really think Flahertys entrance as Heston is one of the greatest moments in the history of SCTV., the car the genius, the moment in time..
It wasn't Charlton Heston he was mimicking, it was Steve McQueen. Watch the original movie, McQueen spends half the movie looking up and pulling his neck. It's perfect! :D
Fun story: Met Joe Flaherty on a flight, him amazed me and my siblings knew the show and quoting this episode.
I'm sure "Guy Caballero/Charlton Heston" was a great guy to meet.
You lived my dream. 🥰
'Dam that Tabby!' - RIP Joe, thanks for the tons of laughs.
Levy's architect rocking the Bryan Ferry smooth operator look
Exactly what I thought the first time i saw this episode
Favourite episode ever! Joe was so fantastic as Charles Heston!! Just hilarious!
Steve McQueen actually. It's a perfect exaggeration and even funnier if you watch the original Towering Inferno movie.
@@gordmoodie3861Joe is doing Heston as McQueens role
@@leeshemkov1036 Well that doesn't make a lot of sense. They didn't usually portray people that weren't in the films they were making fun of. To me, it seems more McQueen than Heston, having seen the original film more than a few times.
Johnny Nucleo was ridiculous with that Jerry Lewis accent
"Mrs. Prickley's double, let's go!" I love SCTV
The best..lol😂
"I got strong legs!"
Says the guy who fakes being an invalid just to gain respect.
I loved this show as a kid. Not the big american budgets but on a canadian budget. Hillarious.
The singer that comes in at 6:10 is really something!
I love her Wireless mic setup LOL giant antenna , massive backpack 🤣
...It's all superb but Martin Short's 'Johnny Nucleo' is an absolute side-splitter; the way he takes charge of the glowing nuclear sticks from the radiation-suited delivery man and shoves them into the reactor hatch, then the final moment with Godzilla, it's just irresistible genius. Thank you to the whole troupe; I'm so glad I was a receptive teenager when it was broadcasting, it taught me what quality comedy meant...
When Guy grabs that cabbage rolll... hilarious!
He loves those cabbage rolls.
@ollie just needed a ☕ with `em!
0:13 this was taped in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada-in front of the Golden Mile Plaza strip mall--this was actually the very first mall ever built in Toronto--it's long gone now--replaced by a "No Frills" grocery store
I grew up in Aurora and we had relatives at Pharmacy and Danforth. We would drive past the Golden Mile and there was a billboard with a woman on a swing. It was for a car dealership and it said swing on over to Wilkinson or something like that. That was about fifty years ago.
@@stumarston6812 The sign still exists (the girl swinging changes her outfit to reflect the seasons). It was moved down the street further west on Eglinton
Bi-Way store at 7:56
@@stumarston6812 That was for Willison Chrysler, now Golden Mile Chrysler.
The Burger King they go into next to Eglinton Square mall is still there.
Love the wiggly trumpet soloist. I believe that is Joe Faherty's brother.
4:23 CABBAGE ROLLS!! LOL ..
SCTV is the best!!!
Amazing how perfectly they tied in the end to the beginning of Godzilla vs Johnny Nucleo.
Smother the flames in Whoppers still cracks me up.
This was my favourite from SCTV with Martin Short. 👏🏻
Bruno was the wackiest of them all!
Nothing like it in all the world.
21:54 Quincy 😂
Sonny Bono on sax 😅😅😅
Enjoyed!
22:32 the end of today's episode 😂
3:48 towering inferno pt 2 😂
It’s funny, the nuclear reactions I’ve ever seen are blue.. i shopped at biway before👍
3:08 SCTV is now on the air 😂
13:18 happy wanderers 😂
Nice crane shots, I bet this episode was expensive
I bet they cost 10 big ones!
...wait, that means $10k?!
00:00 recap to the tower story 😂
Never quite the same after Moranis and Thomas left. Still funny ... but not the same.
Building's skeletal frame was saved and recycled as 432 Park Avenue in NYC... Alas, they couldn't save the reactor... or the revolving restaurant... and the SCTV studios weren't worth saving...
Her publisher?
Anyone know who the singer is that comes in at 6:10 ?
😂🤣😂
Funny, not funny.
