Nice lecture, but I had trouble reading some of the text. It is hard to write legibly with a stylus so you might consider some other format. I would have preferred a video of you writing on a marker or chalk board, but that might be old-fashioned at this point.
Excellent explanation, I really appreciate your work. but I did not see where do you combine scope on EVM. only time and budget were used on formulas. please clarify.
Ever tried to calculate earned value for a construction project with 2,000 work packages. 20,000 assets and 100,000 work steps ( 5 work steps average per asset)?
QuestionS: 1) is the contingency counted in the original budget? 2) if you use contingency for training to bring the project in on time, doesn't that cost get added to the original BAC?
I thought your instructions were terrific. I think if you listen to this video again, you will probably add some noted corrections into some of the things you were saying even though your intent was made. I do not think that scope was tied into your calculations at all nor can it be. I just don't see how you can show through calculations how scope is or is not doing. A point that should be made due to your introduction, we can analyze the scope portion with help from our calculations but that is as far as we can go. The actual scope will be determined based on other factors which are outside the intent of EVM.
This is a horribly presented video, incredibly indirect and too slow/spends too much time talking about how important the info is and not enough time on the actual information. Also, the text needs to be typed for video rather than this illegible handwriting on an awkwardly skewed screen. Everything about this video grates and gets in the way of learning.
Who else is here from Coursera?

I remember that in Pmbok 6th Ed., contingency is a part of the originsl budget. Check it out I might be wrong.
The contingency is included in the budget or BAC.

Your explanation of EV and AC are effectively the same; what would the EV in this example be (the 3,800 value)?
Came here for the intro, and to dance.
