Predator was my very first roller coaster and my first upside down roller coaster was Flashback at Six Flags New England, I didn’t experience upside down coasters until I was in college and I decided to get over the fear and just do it and realized it wasn’t so bad, but Predator I went on when I was a kid and I loved it
I think now under Cedar Fair's management, we're going to see a lot of changes to this park. I don't see why Six Flags hasn't up'ed their game for Darien Lake. It's in a 1.1 million people populated metro area & in a reasonably driveable distance from the 6.7 million people in Toronto's metro. Niagra Falls is a big tourist destination just roughly 50 minutes from the park, plus plenty of thrill seekers who travel to Canada's Wonderland wouldn't mind making the 2 & 1/2 hour drive to DL (or vice versa) if this park had more and better coasters. In a perfect world, they should give the RMC treatment to Predator, replace Ride of Steel with a B&M hyper or giga, replace Mind Eraser with a good B&M invert that's not a Batman clone, take out Motocoaster & put in a Mack Rides spinner that really spins, replace Viper with an Intamin launch coaster like Pantheon or Velocicoaster, & I think this park would be visitable.
its amazing I highly recommend it, the issue is they are currently understaffed, so some rides are closed, and some go under maintenance quite often, other than all that, if you go on a week day, there will be practically no rides. I didnt even have to wait on the ride of steel
Have not been there since 97-98. Doesn't look like much has changed. The only new coaster was the Tantrum and motocoaster. Was a good little park that seemed like it was staying with the times in the 90's, but looks like it is stuck in time now.
I went to Darien lake literally yesterday and made the mistake of going on the superman as my 2nd ride, I was scared to ride the other coasters so I didn't have as much fun as I probably Could've later on
You should go on The Viper. It's not as intense as Ride of Steel. I went on it the 1st time as a kid in the 80s when I was 10. It's my favorite coaster at the park. For an old Arrow coaster, it's very smooth. Some people complain about head banging, but I think it depends on how tall you are and what row you're in. Make sure the over the shoulder restraint is close to your chest when they lock them. It will pop up a bit, but you shouldn't move around as much. The front and back are the most intense. You may want to try sitting towards the middle of the train on your first go to see how it goes. Most of the teens & 20 year olds like the back because you get a lot of air time on the first big drop, but you can slam back down from what I've heard. The front has its own intensity.
I’m going here on Aug 20th, but I feel like nothing will ever beat Six Flags New England, bc that’s where I’m from & grew up going to. Plus it has wayyy more (& better) rides than Darien lake does😭 Still gonna make the best of it and have fun tho! I’m mainly going for the Avril concert, anyways😊
I remember riding an identical version of the 1st coaster called flashback when I was 9 or 10. The shoulder harness didn't click down as tight, or it let up one, I can't remember but I remember being small I felt like I was slipping out after the cobra roll into the loop. I remember thinking, I hope I stay in on the way back. I had to hold on to stay in. I didn't ride it again until I was 14. Never that same seat though.
OMG VIPER is still there. Thanks for the memories, great video. Viper was there in 1984 and was the only coaster at the park when I worked there. So the WOOD coaster Predator how would you rate it from being jerked around or it is smoother?
Predator has historically had a reputation for being extremely rough, but it's recently been re-tracked by GCI and most accounts I've heard have said it's a big improvement. Beside the roughness, it actually has a decent layout with a few good airtime moments
I went here for my first time 1 or 2 weeks ago and I loved it, the first ride I went on was the ride if steel, BAD DECISION, anyways, one con is that all of the workers at like food stands are really moody and rude, but I get it, they have to stand there all day when it's hot, but still, if you hate your job then don't work there. Other then that it is an amazing park and I highly recommend going if you haven't already!!!
The bat, top gun, wildabeast, a slightly different version of bohemoth, the fly and leviathan is what I just seen, all these coasters can be ridden at Canada's Wonderland for a fraction of the price

I never realized this was in new york

If I didn't give you credit for your clip please let me know and I will check ASAP.
I was always scared of the tantrum looking at the POV it looks like nothing
Tantrum feels like nothing. There’s not much g force that you feel from my experience
@@Lauren_Cat thanks for telling me :D
I’m going on Saturday are the rides fun
Yes
@UnSn4g I live 7 hours away from here I live in westchester county why am I even watching this
@UnSn4g this park looks very dead I live 49 minutes away to Lego land so I go there instead
How is mind eraser? I know the SLCs have a bad history. Is it as painful as they say?
Yes, having been on it myself its pretty brutal
Just keep ur head back and it’s fine
The motocoaster looks fun
I'm going in three days
I just went yesterday
😅I am
going soon
The bat, top gun, wildabeast, a slightly different version of bohemoth, the fly and leviathan is what I just seen, all these coasters can be ridden at Canada's Wonderland for a fraction of the price
Just get a season pass 🤷♀️
Darien Lake doesn't have a giga coaster. Nothing in the video looks close to Leviathan.
Bohemoth is a b&m hyper and ride of steel is an intamin hyper. Canada’s wonderland is probably better but it’s not the same as Darien lake
Plus I just looked at prices and Darien lake is cheaper
hi
Does the predator still beat the sh*t out of you?
Looks like it
They changed the tracks a bit, but yeah every time I go on it I get a new bruise somewhere.
