This is not "NTM & IAM", and the title isn't "Democratized". NTM and IAM are two different groups from two very distant areas (Paris & Marseille) and they never collaborated cause they kind of hated each other. This is NTM, and the track is called "Qu'est-ce qu'on attend" (= "What are we waiting for").
I'm from the U.S. and I love NTM and IAM. Can you please elaborate why they never got along? I always thought there would be a Collab song or something when I started listening to them a few years back.
@@rafaelleon115 Did I say they never got along? ;) No no, they actually had respect for each other in their early days. NTM basically made IAM popular nationawide by broadcasting their very first tape (titled "Concept"). They wouldn't see one another very often cause they were located in very distant places (Paris and Marseille) but definitely enjoyed each other's company. The breakup happened gradually, by a sucession of events, but it's a bit complicated to elaborate on.
I‘m from Switzerland, in the early 90‘s we were massively influenced not only by US but by French and UK rap such as IAM, NTM, Hijack, Gunshot and many others. Switzerland, although having some decent Hip Hop bands, were more known for their excellent Bboys and writers. Basel in the mid 90‘s was outstanding in Graffiti, almost like a Mecca in the center of Europe.
@@randomuser1946 I don't think it's their worst, since the beat is sick and the delivery too. Definitely a banger, miles ahead of nowadays autotuned crap. But yeah that's a dumb one (talking about basically nothing). Sorry Salomé, but saying "Ma Benz" is your favourite NTM song is like saying you don't know NTM at all.
Hi from France ! I am a huge fan of NTM. NTM and IAM are considered as the two best rap groups in the country. But I also suggest you to listen to : - Scred Connexion, Partis de loin - Rocca, Les jeunes de l'univers - Shurik'n, Samouraï - Fonky Family, Mystère et Suspense - X-Men, Retour aux pyramides - Stomy Bugsy, Mon papa à moi est un gangster - Passi, Je zappe et je mate - Neg'Marrons, Le Bilan - Sniper, Cataloguer Other artists (Doc Gynéco, Rohff, Lord Kossity, Alliance Ethnik, Oxmo Puccino etc.). Tell me if you like. Merry Christmas to all.
Il fait partie des quelques albums rap achetés à l'époque , du sens , des mélodies , et malgré mon ouverture , le rap d'aujourd'hui me procure couillette .
This is not the right title and group, IAM inst in this song and its no "democratized". The real name is "NTM - Qu'est-ce qu'on attend" (what are we waiting for)
You should really listen to pitbull by booba its an old school song that's really different from the stuff you heard from him but I know you will love it
If you're taking the oldies road you will have to try Diam's with her song Marine and take a live version. It resonates today because 3 singers released a new version of this song without the passion of diam's and it's censored. The whiplash was that everyone even the younger generation went back to listen to the original. Fun fact: today, I passed in front of a graffiti with Marine's lyrics while I was fetching my kids at school.
I think you can copy paste the history of the UK and France because they were big settlers from the 18th and even before until the 20th century. And from colonization and a lot of diplomatic businneses, decalonization, the ppl from colonized countries moved to the motherland and were not well welcomed. You still had racist politicians and segragative policies. Some will say, to put migrants in buildings like in the video is a way to separate the several social classes and create ghettos. And it's mixed with ethnicity. It's very complicated because you have several point of view and I try to be unbiased. To put in a nutshell most of rappers rap/sing about the oppression that the state makes and how racist are the laws. How they try to break the unity of the nation and put us in boxes. Rap songs are very political.
