BB & 2ne1 were reaching heights back then and having tours even without socmed or the TH-cam era before Wondergirls on American Show you have watched. Plus YG artists have been the icebreaker among Kpop - from hiphop roots to incorporating EDM into songs, having BB produce on their own and not rely solely on producers from the west, or domestically; high budget videos at that time (2ne1), world tours, etc. If they weren’t ahead of their time, Kpop mainstream would still be the same Korean music wave probably - trot, ballads, pop, etc. It’s just Big 3 were competitive with each other that it advanced into more diversity when BB emerged.

Like yes, bigbang attends awards in US way before BTS but it was not as sensational as when BTS did. Other kpop groups also have a lot of fanbase outside of asia but they did not make it mainstream. I’ve been VIP for 14 years now. I won’t ever get over them. Their songs is part of my childhood memories. Even my siblings whos not kpop fans know their songs since i played it most of the time. Everytime i hear their songs its always seems like its the first time im hearing it. Brings back good memories for me.

Today's TH-cam uses much more advanced algorithms to recommend users videos that they'd probably be interested in. Back in the day, before you would watch a Bigbang MV on TH-cam, you'd have to hear about it from some other source first. A friend, Korean TV shows (no subtitles), the radio if you lived in Asia, etc. Of course no Instagram or TikTok to help them promote songs before they even released.

In my opinion bigbang's stage presence and connection with the audience and camera is unmatched. They're a group that doesn't care about crazy choreography or synchronized dancing (note: mad respect for other groups that do that) even though they are all great dancers but their main focus is definitely to have have fun on stage and show their individual personalities. Im 49 years old. Start stanning them in 2011. Saw them up close and personal in the airport. Watch their concert the following day. Now I'm singing with you guys although I am too old enough to be your mom and do not even speak korean. That is how good Bigbang is, they transcend both age and culture barrier.
Why does it warm my heart so much to see locals singing along? Like when Crooked played at a Baseball game and the crowd sang along. Times like this I wish I were born in S Korea. Anthems in U.S pale in comparison.

No one can guess how happy I am with this! I'm same age as the reactors and we're really young when BIGBANG was active so to see them knowing all their hits is such a joy! As an international VIP, I'm glad to see that there are younger age groups that still actively listen to BIGBANG. BIGBANG are just in a a league of their own, no one has topped them and I don't think anyone ever would. Also I'm quite surprised they haven't included Bang Bang Bang...that to me screams BIGBANG and it was iconic and one of their biggest hits.

No one can guess how happy I am with this! I'm same age as the reactors and we're really young when BIGBANG was active so to see them knowing all their hits is such a joy! As an international VIP, I'm glad to see that there are younger age groups that still actively listen to BIGBANG.
