Due to the location of Kathmandu - surrounded by high mountains, after take off every airplane must gain altitude within that valley, that means 360 degree turn. You see it passed above the airport. Kathmandu is one of the most dangerous airports. On approach the GPWS (Ground Proximity Warning System) warns continuously due to the steep approach and proximity to the ground (mountains). There is no other way... I've been landing on that airport exactly with A310, A310-200, carrying Blue Helmets from Israel in 1991. On the way back, because we were empty and light, we didn't need to do that turn, but our climb was really awesome!.

Kathmandu airport is kept in black list by European aviation authority in 2013. Last year Turkish Airlines also skit from the runway and airport was closed for around four days. It is important to upgrade Kathmandu Airport fully and also need to increase the length and width of the runway including taki way.

I believe the steep climb was intended to clear the surrounding mountains that are close by the airport, the steep climb and the 360 degree turn was needed where there was only limited airspace around the airport because of those high Mountains surrounding that area. I'm sure the landing is difficult as well figuring they would need to come in rather steep.

However, there are already two (2) pending orders for Boeing 737-800 (scheduled to be delivered at the end of 2015) and four (4) for Boeing 787-8 (for entry in 2019-2020), by the current GOB. On 12 March 2007, the nose-gear of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, A310-300, collapsed on takeoff at Dubai International Airport, on its sole active runway, blocking it for more than 8 hours. There were some reports of minor injuries.

Given the situation as it is, a leased out (since Bangladesh won't be able to afford one) A380 would only contribute to the yearly loss.

How come you don't know your own national flag ? BTW, Biman livery consists two colours, a twisted belt of Red and Green on the fuselage and a White stork flying across the red sun(circle) on the tail. This livery is artistic, nationalistic, realistic and above all aviationistic.
