This is awesome and one of the best videos I have seen about this. Does this work for images and videos? If I am using my iPhone as camera and screen mirroring to my MacBook. Can I still use other apps on my MacBook?
Thanks for the video . Really thorough, clear and easy to follow, even for a curmudgeon like me who would rather have a thermostat with a dial and peek out the front door in person to see if there is a package.
It unable to do it because I recently bought an iPhone 16 pro, but my Mac is asking me to update my original iPhone 11 (which I didn’t erase data on because I use it for certain things) to iOS 18. Is there any way to make it realise I want it to mirror my new phone and not my old phone?
I updated my MacBook & my phone. I set up iPhone mirroring with my iPhone 15 Pro. I now have a 16 Pro Max. I've tried resetting the mirroring app & everything. I disconnected it on my 15 & it still keeps trying to connect to the 15 & won't recognize my 16. Any tips?
Thank you Chris. How does the iPhone talk to the MacMini? My MacMini is using an Ethernet connection? Do I need to switch from Ethernet to WiFi? Any other settings I need to be aware of? cheers. Your time and support is appreciated.
Hey there! In theory, it shouldn’t matter if your Mac mini is connected to WiFi or Ethernet as long as they are both logged in on the same iCloud account and in the same general area you should be good to go.
Sound is also transferred to Mac? I have some music apps which are not available on Mac and this is would me my use case :) I don't want to update right now because I'm not sure if other my software will run on MacOs 15 but I will risk would know if mirroring will transfer sound also :)
In theory, yes, audio should also be transferred to the Mac. But I’d upgrade with caution. I’ve heard people have had issues with the audio being transferred while screen mirroring.
That’s odd. I have not experienced that or been able to replicate that. Sorry. Perhaps try rebooting your phone and Mac to see if that solves the issue.
Great video, Thanks! I’m going to try it to see if can utilize mirroring to organize the 292😮 apps I have on my iPhone. It’s gonna take forever grabbing each one and sliding into folders etc. Any suggestions on a quicker way to organize and clean up? BTW, to show how many apps you have: Settings->General->About
You got some organization to do! When you are in jiggle mode to move your apps, you can hold an app with one finger and use another to select/move multiple apps!
@ Awe Man! I did not know that! Thank You. I’m also gonna try searching generic terms like “media” then drag those down to a folder instead of scrubbing through multiple screens.
for some reason its saying unable to connect, my macbook is an air with a m1 2020 vesions, and i have an iphone 12 mini, all up to date with the software updates, and connected to same internet plus with blutooth on, im confused
Apple has a great article for trouble shooting. Do you have a firewall or VPN that could be preventing it from connecting? You could always try to restart each device and log out/in to iCloud on each device.
Thx... I had a Portagese friend named Cardosa -- your cousin... I am using mirroing to make a video on how loud my aircon is than then testing a Sony mic with a LC (low cut filter)

I don’t believe you can screen mirror with your iPhone and use the camera simultaneously. You can definitely still use other apps on your Mac.
So this doesn't work with a sonoma 14.6? :(
Unfortunately not, gotta be on 15.
One nice thing is that you can play mobile games. You don't need to go into the Applications folder, there's an icon on the Dock.
Playing iPhone games on your desktop might be a little challenging, but you can do it!

"iPhone Mirroring is not available in your country or region"
Unfortunately, it’s not currently available in the EU. Sorry. 😢
@@chriscardosoI wonder why, like what is the problem with making it accessible 😬
how to access control center?
It doesn’t seem like there is a clear answer for that yet. 😅

Figured it out, you need to go into settings and into desktop to change the phone
Glad you figured it out! Thank you for watching!

You should be able to edit this by going to System Settings > Desktop & Dock > Widgets. You should be able to choose which iPhone you want to mirror.
Thanks for the great job and smooth illustration , is there any way to enlarge the Iphone Mirroring App size on desktop?
Yes! If you navigate to the Apple menu on your Mac with iPhone Mirroring on, you can select View and then Larger, Actual Size, or Smaller.
In EU the option is blocked:(
I know. 😢 sorry about that!
Won’t it work with intel based Mac? I used open core legacy patcher.
Only M chip Mac’s unfortunately.
I didn’t know this was a thing with the new update! I could see myself getting distracted by trying to play phone games on my laptop with mirroring 😅
This is going to make my iPhone addiction even worse. 😂
In Italy is denied :) Why?
It’s not available in the EU at this time.

@@chriscardoso thx, I will do backup first then
my macbook seems to not have the iphone mirroring app downloaded is there somewhere i can download it or not?
Are you based in the US and on the latest operating system?
@ figured it out thanks, realised i needed to software update, thanks for the help tho😁
mine keeps timing out and all my devices are up to date
Hmmm. That is strange. What devices are you using?
Im using it but was wondering why audio doesn't pull through... is there a setting I should change?
That’s odd. I have not experienced that or been able to replicate that. Sorry.

I followed this, but it is saying the iPhone is in use. Phone mirroring will connect when the iPhone is no longer in use.
any suggestions ??
You need your phone to be locked with the screen off for it to work! If it’s unlocked, you cannot mirror.
Great video, Thanks!

@ OH my, it Works! I am VERY thankful for the tip! I feel like this will save hours! You definitely earned a Sub!!!!
hi mac book doesn't show the application iphone mirroring. what should i do?
Are you based in the US and on the latest Mac OS?
@ thanks for reaching out. Its all good now.😊
Woohoo! Thanks for watching!
I can't seem to find iphone mirroring app on my macbook pro m3 pro... can u tell me how i get it
Are you on Mac OS 15 sequoia? If so, it should be in your application folder.
Nope, you have to be on sequoia.
Why is there no iPad mirroring???
We should ask Apple!
I doesn't work in EU because of the regulations :(
Such a bummer! Hopefully one day!
for some reason its saying unable to connect, my macbook is an air with a m1 2020 vesions, and i have an iphone 12 mini, all up to date with the software updates, and connected to same internet plus with blutooth on, im confused
same icloud too

You may not use the camera of the iPhone while mirroring, you get the message: iPhone camera is not available form Mac
Weird! But understandable.
I updated to iOS 18 because of this function and now I learn it’s not available in my country. Nice
Dang, that’s a bummer. I’m sorry to hear that.
I had a iPhone 11 and had it mirrored with my mac now I have bought 16pro and not able to mirror it as it’s still searching for 11 not my 16 pro
Go to System Settings > Desktop & Dock > Widgets. You should be able to choose which iPhone you want to mirror.
Same

@@chriscardoso FYI: I failed. mirroring does not use the iPhone camera or mic so I had to fall back on classic screen mirroring
only works in USA!
It’s a bummer!
Not available in my region or country! M2 Max & a 13 Pro... great video, just disappointed with this discovery
Seems to be unavailable in the EU. Sorry!
Not your fault. I did upgrade both my phone and Mac for this feature, but not because of your video... Hopefully it comes to EU soon 🤞
5. Do not live in the EU
Unfortunately, yes. That is the 5th requirement.
man 80% of video is out of focus!!
It’s closer to 50%. 😂 but yes, my camera was not having a good autofocus day.
but thank you tho
Thanks for watching!
Hi Chris, I’m interested in a potential collaboration and would love to discuss further. Could you please share the best way to contact you? Thanks!
What kind of collab?
