as someone who's been songwriting for a significant portion of my life, that last advice is very good. to add a bit onto it: Inspiration never comes at convenient times. some of my favorite songs i've ever written came to me while i was floating facedown in a pool with no way to write lyrics down, or at 5:00 in the morning when i'm fully unable to sleep. and that means that songs arent always gonna be how you envision them, but also that it's ok to go write it down or make a recording even when it's soooo inconvenient. anyways thats my advice TL:DR yea just write stuff down even when you can't
